great Punch by Rashad

Am i the only one that does not want to see a 5 round fight between Rashad vs. Forrest?

by john on Sep 8, 2008 9:03 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

no.

i dont either. but i will still watch.

i used to think forrest was a very entertaining fighter before

but now? not so much.

by ~stinky~fingers~ on Sep 8, 2008 9:07 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I kind of like the idea of forrest vs rashad actually, I’d have preferred Machida but I would have liked it less with chuck vs forrest. Rashad is technically undefeaded (big T for technically) and it would be a huge sale with winners of TUF 1 vs TUF 2 for the title, huge marketing for the TUF show. I think forrest will be able to keep his title against rashad and his popularity will grow much bigger (i’m hoping by that time wandy gets his title shot and become champ!).

next matches I’d like to see:
*bring arona and have him fight machida (arona by decision)
*once thiago is healed have him fight chuck (close call but thiago by KO)
*I’ll be happy with shogun getting chuck too once he’s back.
*wandy vs page (almost done deal with wandy winning by devastating KO giving him the next title shot)

by linx on Sep 8, 2008 9:14 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Exactly.

What a KO. I lost like $50 on like 3 parlays that were about to win when Chuck did (potentially would have won $327 if Chuck won). As I was watching the fight though, right when I said that I would rather see Chuck get KO’d right now then watch Rashad win a boring decision, and BOOM!

I thought that physically, Rashad looked better than ever. There were fights of his recently where he looked pretty small. He looked just right for 205 this past weekend, much more solid.

CHUCKY IS DONE!!!

As for Forrest vs Rashad, can someone wake me up when its over? If I didn’t order every single PPV with friends and just picked and chose which ones I payed $45 for, I would certainly pass up on that one! But then again, perhaps Rashad can slam an overhand right on Forrest’s glass jaw, imagine what would have happened to Forrest if he took that exact same punch? Although I like Forrest more than I like Rashad, I think that I would be rooting for Rashad to win. I do not want a champion that is going to try and win a decision every single time because they know that they have no finishing capabilities. At least Rashad has the power to do so.

by ViolentMike on Sep 8, 2008 9:19 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

-wand by devastating ko?

-arona by decision?

whoa whoa whoa linx! hold ur horses.

no way either of these two happen. i would have it

machida by tko and ramoage by decision

and i would throw around 25k on both.

when this rampage-wand fight happens[and it will.FACT]

we gotta have a friendly bet. we have too.

picks right.

by ~stinky~fingers~ on Sep 8, 2008 9:24 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah stinky, great job on those picks that you won 19k! nice job :? how was china btw? LOL

Wandy always KO’s ppl he has KO’ed before in even more devastating fashion than the KO he gave them before. It’s just how it goes down, and with page having the problems he’s been having lately it’s just more wood to the fire of wandy’s demolition.

by linx on Sep 8, 2008 9:34 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Lyoto Machida if is not fighting for the title should fight Rashad.. to then fight for the title.. I would not grant Rashad a title shot, because he caught a clean KO over Chuck.. a guy wh o imo shouldn’t of fought for the title even if he beat Rashad.. cuz he rebounded well after losing to Jardine.. BS..
but I don’t make the rules.. or try to break them.. and make shit up as I go.. I just like to point some things out to folks.. UFC is turning into "All my Children ".. it’s gettting watered down with whom and how title fights get given/ earned.. and title belt defense.. outside of the Legend Anderson Silva.. is BS.

Rashad.. WOw!! Great KO.. you have the two most devasting KO High lights under your belt.. the hed kick to Salmon and the right had to the chin of Lidell. Godd Job.. but I hope you can keep on performing like that against more top talent.. I thing Chuck’s style is getting old.. ( Greg Jackson ).. fight camps have figured him out.. but we all know what we get with Chuck.. he has proven himself.. Rashad is now in light to do the same.. should he be getting a title shot now against forrest.. Nah.. Should Lyoto be fighting for hte title.. yep.. and with a majority opinion can not be met.. then have Rashad vs Lyoto to decide who fights for the title.

All I know is that for about the next 8 months, the champion of the best division in the UFC will be either Forrest “Cant Buss a Grape” Griffin or “Suga”

Wake me up when its over VM is correct! I will boycott that title fight because I really have NO INTEREST whatsoever in the match up. nOt saying they aren’t 2 good fighters, I just DONT want to see it, as in ever! I probably wont even watch the fight video on the computer the day after! YAWN!!

u r exactly right. wand does always ko ppl he has kod

nIce Picks stinky! Phil, Dead right as usual. its getting WWE-ish as to how title shots are awarded these days.

Lets face it, who deserves it is DONE in the uFC, its all about the fights that they can market. NO matter how undeserving the match up is, the marketing team will just spin it in its favor.

Its really SAD because its starting to turn me off of the UFC!

LMAO Stinky, I’m not being mad or anything, I’m a sarcastic kind of person and my sarcasm may translate to hostility sometimes but trust me, I’m not trying to be mean. I do however find it funny that someone as rich as you say you are would be blogging about how much they make, seems kind of funny to me. I’d imagine if DW blogged, he would not say how much he makes at all.

PS: I don’t work at burger king, it’s McDolnads, get it right!

when you said:
“i still got rampage and we are having a friendly wager WHETHER u like it or not!”

I thought you were thinking I was trying to be hostile, but I read posts really fast sometimes without giving much thought, I’m actually busy today (flipping burgers ain’t easy you know :) )usually I have more time on my hands but for some reason today we’re more busy than usual. but trust me, I’m cool as an ice cream, and I’m sure you are as well. sometimes we can get lost in text but let’s make sure we’re in the same page. I’m cool, you are too, let’s be friends :)

The whole UFC politics thing does seem to be a little more prominent than usual, that’s for sure. And I agree Machida should be next in line for a title shot, but apparently that’s not to be. Me, I’d like to see Forrest vs Rashad. They both proved their worth (albeit not their dominance-at all) in their last fights. Forrest for a BRILLIANT game plan against Rampage. There was only one way for him to win, and he executed flawlessly IMO. Rashad for a LIGHTNING quick, devastating overhand right. They both came in prepared while their opponents seemed to have dismissed them before the fights started. Fatal mistake in the fight world. I’ll definitely head to the bar to see them fight. And don’t worry guys, Machida will be facing one of them soon enough.

Stinky!

Welcome back, man. I always enjoy your posts, dude. Whats the word, big bird?

Thoughts on the PPV

1) Despite MacDonald’s loss to Maia, I am impressed w/ his last 4 fights and I feel that he should go for a title shot after Silva wipes the floor w/ Cote.

2) Palhares is far from being a well rounded MMA fighter. He has a good chin, though.

3) Matt Brown did not lose the 1st round. At best that 1st round was a stalemate. He won the 2nd. This fight should have been a draw.

4) Ace did exactly what was expected. Matt is overhyped.

5) RASHAD. What can I say? I was shocked. I have posted over and over again that I thought Chuck would decapitate Suga’. OOPS…

Rashad, please accept my apology as I eat my crow with a side of wasabi.

If you keep finishing fights and not “blanket” your opponents then I will jump on your bandwagon.

Sincerely,

A Rashad hater.

OJR!

thanks man. i always enjoy ur posts aswell.

the word is that im stuck in the airport cause of delays son.

but i thought this weekend had the 3rd best card of the year.

and i was dumb enough to not go to 88. i gave my tickets to

my cousin.

1- j-macs/lambert fight was great. i bet on the j-mac attack

and was worried when he kept getting guilitned. i dont

think he is close to a title shot- but he is not as far as

some may think.

2- I thought palarhes did a great job agianst a seasoned

vet like hendo. his takedowns did not look to bad its just

hendo worked a great game plan. when they did hit the ground

palarhes was very quick to go for subs and the slam was huge.

i wouldnt count palarhes out just yet.

3- i am acually thinking about the same on that. but if they

were to give the nod to someone it should have been brown.

4- that liver kick was deadly! i think franklin is going

to give some lhw some probs.

5- wow. wow weiners on a stick? ko of the year!

how would u feel if a guy came in the octagon purple nurpled

himself numerous times and then laid u the frig out with

your own specialty over hand right punch?

Give me a break! Rashad’s whole image is TRASH! From his silly, un-original and non deserving nickname to his dancing around. its really hard to root for the guy!

His image needs a makeover! His skills are getting sharper though but I dont feel that the winner of Chuck vs. Suga deserved a title sdhot to begin with and I still dont!

Props though to shad for not squeeking out a decision, and delivering a memorable Knock out while keeping his undefeated record intact in highlight fashion over a legend. It was impressive!

Rashad’s little dance moves in the ring don’t bother me as much as when he crawled on all 4’s like a dog into the ocatagon upon his entrance. AND when he was being announced, he would massage both his nipples with simultaneous circular pinching motions. He was really grossing me out!

Holy crapola! I wonder how the UFC likes their golden boy (old man) getting KO’d in that fashion. How many times will the UFC, themselves, show that replay on future events? I guess it will depend on the popularity of Shooga Rayshod. Still, I hate seeing Chuck take one like that. And talk about ruining a future Spider vs. IceMan super fight. Not that I thought IceMan would win before, but you can’t even have him fight Spider now that he got knocked out by Sugar.

Great stuff. I have absolutely no idea what to expect out of Evans at this point. He’s one of those guys I think is going to get more entertaining as he gains confidence. Since starting on TUF I think he’s been favored in only one fight (Salmon). I’m hoping he keeps opening it up after this win.

Go State.

Chuck needs new camp. he isnt bad but he seems to be slacking more. (hands down, hunt the same way he hunted 8 years ago) would be nasty to see him end like Houston Alexander. “too easy to train for”

Gief Iceman new camp!

Chuck “Washed Up” Liddell
Lost 3 of his last 4. Time to hang them up.

Oh wait, by UFC standards that entitles him to a Title Shot ala 1-1 Brock Lesnar!

It is bad when Forrest vs Evans championship match is not even close to as big as the Wandy vs Rampage fight which might not even be for number 1 contender

i thught they said he was out for 3 mins.

by ~stinky~fingers~ on Sep 8, 2008 11:31 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Chuck was caught because of bad technique. Watching it in slow motion really demostrates how bad his technique is. This was a replay of the Rampage fight – same mistake.

by TD on Sep 8, 2008 10:50 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

In the Rampage fight he was caught because he threw a punch to the body, not an uppercut like the Rashad fight. Not the same thing.

by BNF on Sep 8, 2008 11:31 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I referring to his hands – In both fights his hands were down were they shouldnt have been (not covering up)resulting in the “same thing” = knockout.

by TD on Sep 8, 2008 12:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The only similarity I saw was the fact that both times he got KTFO by a black dude… Whatever.

I think we should get Wandy vs Franklin next, that would be an awesome fight, Wandy is one of the smallest 205ers and both are great in stand-up, would be a WAR!!

by El_Santo on Sep 8, 2008 11:06 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I’ve suggested that fight as well, great match-up!

by BNF on Sep 8, 2008 11:32 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wandy should fight at UFC89 dana don’t give us some bum like you usually do! also we don’t want to see Evans or Hughes in the uk.

what’s up w/ all the guys out of Jackson’s camp playing w/ their nipples during announcements. First GSP, now Rashad? Does it help their KO power???? :)

THE ICE MAN NEEDS A NEW TRAINER ADDED ON TO HIS CAMP.

HE NEEDS TO LEARN TO KEEP HIS HANDS UP AND WORK ON SOME HEAD MOVEMENTS.

This is the new generation of fighters bye bye liddell, rampage, wandy and shogun. Hello to the new generation with the likes of Forrest, Lyoto, Jardine, Rashad.

Anyone else Surprised by the Franklin/Hammil fight? Franklin looked good in this fight a little slow but still good.

Shogun and Wandy aren’t one-dimensional, and Shogun is like 27 years old. They’re geniuses on the ground and their standup is beyond reproach.

LOL, Jardine???Did you not see what Wandy did to him?

God I love being right…

on a serious note I made $1000 from this fight… I told everyone on this site that all the talk of how Liddell was going to smash Evans was premature… I put my money on it and I won. I’m now 13-2 in picking main event fight outcomes.

Who’s mugshot was that on Rashad’s t-shirt? And was Rashad doing a monkey crawl into the cage? He cracks me up with all his goofy antics.

It was Bill Gates from 70s when he got a DUI or something like that.

I cant beleive Chuck got destroyed like that.

by belfort_fan on Sep 8, 2008 3:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yea but he is certainly not done if that kick or that upper cut would have landed it would be the other way around he just needs to start raising his hand and maybe even try blocking every now and then. the K.O. power is still there he just can’t be so sloppy.

Did anyone else see how worried Forrest looked after that one.

by Wanderlei Fan on Sep 8, 2008 4:49 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wide open as soon as he threw that Uppercut. Chuck was out before he hit tha floor. It sucks.

Luck my ass. He threw a fake jab first to bait him and Slowddell fell for it. That punch was all timing and precision. look at the video closer.

I am somewhat glad this happened. The UFC has to treat itself with more respect as a sport if it wants to be considered one by the outside world. Chuck lost 3 of his last 4 and there is a reason for it. He drops his hands out of old, bad habit. What worked before won’t work now, he was asking for it. Even if he got an undeserved title shot against Forest, he would have lost to Forest also. If Chuck wants to stay he has to train with boxers to smooth out his bad habits, and spend some time on a ground game.

by Damn on Sep 8, 2008 7:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

exactly! couldn’t agree more.. from now on i hope that everybody will be treated the same and not just Dana pushing his best “friends” before everybody else!

If he says “RAYshad” Evans one more time I’m going to plunge a screwdriver into my ear, followed by his face.

just gotta say that this pay per view was sick. it was my first live ufc event that I have attended, and I am not pretending to be an expert…but it is so much louder in the areana than it sounds on tv…they must muffle the sound…anyone else that can attest to that? sick night of fights nonetheless…
