UFC 88 video Dana White blog September 6
Interesting to hear Joe Rogan talk to Dana White about an injury to Karo Parisyan -- even though it doesn't appear to be the one the forced him off the UFC 88: "Breakthrough" card just 24 hours before showtime:

That part seemed scripted (Puts on tin foil hat). What happened to the back problem that couture was saying and was declared on the site. The conversation also looked weird and there was just something strange about the way they were talking and etc. Gotta agree though, love the backscene materials. I wonder it will be put as extras on the Fight dvds?

Have to agree, the behind the scene stuff is great. I’m surprised at how much Dana actually does before the show: soundchecks, video monitors etc. I would have thought he paid people to do those things. But I guess that’s one of the reasons the UFC is so successful, if you want to make sure it’s done right, do it yourself.

Cheese sauce is the way to go though, not melted slices. I am living proof that one can survive on cheese fries, pizza and cheeseburgers, at least back in the day.

Dana’s not the greates guy in the world, but one thing you can’t call him is lazy, that’s for sure.

Interesting view of how Liddell handled the loss. I couldn’t make out everything that Dana was saying to him in the cage, but he seemed pretty stern as he stopped Chuck from leaving the cage.
Also Chucks reaction to the announment that Rashad had earned a title shot is telling. Chuck looks like he is biting his tongue. I don’t think this was a insult to Rashad but more of a suprise because while he may not be a draw, Machida (and possibly others) is a more deserving #1 contender. Again, not ripping Rashad just thought he’d fight at least one more top-tier opponent before his shot.

A Machida/Liddell fight would be interesting

But that would be moving Machida backwards in his quest to the title. If Machida loses to Silva, then a fight with Chuck would make sense, but who would want to see them fight if they are both coming off of losses??

KCMAY17 I found that very interesting as well. The look on Dana’s face when Chuck was making a bee line for the door was screaming “Turn the f**k around Iceman”. Can’t help but wonder what was said.
Then at the press conference when Dana announced that Evans was next up for a title shot, Chuck’s sudden head turn and look of disbelief told what he was really thinking. It proved he was blind sided IMO and never saw it coming.
He looked so surprised I half expected him to go all Gary Coleman on his ass. “What you talk’n bout Dana?”

i saw karo hopping around with crutches prior to the show. if his leg has been like this for some time… why take the fight at all and then cancel at the last minute? he may be soon on his way out of the ufc.

What would a Dana white blog be without all the male cuddling? Pretty gay to me

Interesting to see them having to tweak the audio settings. I was there for the event and no-one in the stadium could understand anything being said by Rogan, fighters, or from the video clips. Was pretty annoying to not get any of the pre-fight interviews or post-official decision commentary.

JimmyC, I wish I could hear it too. I did manage to hear Dana turn to Liddel in frustration “You don’t look that bad” as if to say suck it up, you’ll be back.
And if you listen enough times you can clearly hear Liddel mutter a “Wow” after the title shot was announced.
I wonder if he was bitter?
