UFC Quick Quote: Rousimar Palhares over Dan Henderson via heel hook

"I’m not as Las Vegas, but I put some money on him, there are people there to bet for me. MMA is an unpredictable sport, but I can say that Palhares’ game is perfect to fight Dan Henderson, and I believe Henderson’s only chance is to find a punch in the beginning. I truly believe this fight will be over with a heel hook first round submission."
-- Mario Sperry -- the man responsible for bringing Rousimar Palhares into the Brazilian Top Team fold -- tells Tatame.com that his fighter will win tonight over Dan Henderson at UFC 88: "Breakthrough" via heel hook. Henderson has seven career losses, three of which are by way of submission.

We know that John. You’ve been selling Palhares to us since forever, lol!

John – I hope your lack of confidence in the legend Hendo lost you a lot of money. . . I’m sure you bet big on Chuck too. . .not the smartest. I won money on Rashad and Hendo tonight, so thanks for nothing for you inflated ego on your clutch predictions.

Saying it and doing it are two different things! Im not buying into the Palhares hype just yet. I’ll wait till after tonight. He seemed like a cool dude on that video Mania posted. And judging by the way he was living on that video, he has to be hungry!!!

As much as I like Hendo I tend to agree..
For some reason I see Palhares finishing the job in half guard with a kimura.

Nah, Hendo is too smart for that sh!t. Palhares isn’t gonna kimura Dan at his own expense.

he’s right in a way by speculating based on styles. spider did trick hendo on the ground for the win, but i still can’t doubt hendo. losing to spider and page just means he lost to some of the best. he DOMINATED in PRIDE, the guy’s a winner. even though frank shamrock tapped him out in a grappling match, he has experience against guys with ground game. nothing new. wouldn’t be surprised if Palhares got KTFO.

True. And also I think you’re a bit biased based on your name. But it’s all good ‘coz my money’s riding on Hendo!!

I hope it is that easy for him, but I am not sure.

Why would you want Henderson to lose?

Its a risky fight 4 hendo but i fink if he can use his wrestling to keep it on his feet he will KO Palhares.

People overestimate Henderson’s takedown defense. He’s got a great clinch game but in terms of a defending against a double leg, his sprawl is not that great. Palhares on the other hand might not be the best wrestler but he’s a very compact guy with a lot of strength, and if you’ve seen his takedowns they look really solid.
On the ground the guy is probably has the best leglocks in MMA. His heel hooks are nasty man and he doesn’t leave much room for guys to squirm out of it. His whole ground game is really tight, aside from the elite grapplers in MMA (Maia, Jacare, Nog) he’s one of the best.

Hendo by TKO for sure…Palhares is untested don’t know if his stand up is good enough to throw leather with Hendo..his last fight was a quick submission over an old a$$ Salaverry…I think Hendo will keep it up on the feet and catch him late in the 1st round…night night BJJ stud..LOL
