KARO PARISYAN INJURED FIGHT SCRAPPED.HOPE LAMBERT/MCDONALD GETS PROMOTED TO THE MAIN CARD.
by SCOTT on Sep 5, 2008 2:14 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I hope Pellegrino and Tavarez goes to main card. Speaking of which, the odds to the undercard fights are now on BetUs. Here they are:
116 Thiago Tavares -300
117 Kurt Pellegrino +200
10:00p
119 Tim Boetsch -500
120 James Lee +300
10:00p
122 Dong Hyun Kim -450
123 Matt Brown +275
10:00p
125 Roan Carneiro -110
126 Ryo Chonan -130
7:30p
128 Jason McDonald -170
129 Jason Lambert +130
I see Pellegrino having better than a 33% chance at beating Tavarez. I was hoping to get Stun Gun at like -200 but that would have been a dream come true. So I just did a parlay on Kurt/Stun Gun/Liddell. That parlay is paying out at a little over 4-1. I don’t have much available money in my account right now because it is all tied up between this UFC event, NFL football week 1, and BROCK LESNAR!

I dont even know what I am betting yet but I know I am betting $100 on stun gun
by john on Sep 5, 2008 3:32 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
To win, or risking?
ALSO, for NFL I am liking (with the spreads) Jets, Patriots and Eagles
by ViolentMike on Sep 5, 2008 4:26 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Stun Gun is apparently the only nick name cool enough to be mentioned in the weigh in results.

I would love to see shogun-machida but it wont happen.
James irvin wouls be okay.
by belfort_fan on Sep 5, 2008 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think Shogun has the perfect skill set to beat Machida, agressive, good striking, well rounded take down and jiu jitsu
by brendan on Sep 6, 2008 11:48 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
They should get Wand in there and get shogun-Rampage II. No point in Wand stomping on rampage a third time. Such a shame though, this totally fucks up everything.
by NameNotRequired on Sep 6, 2008 4:40 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
If that news is true I hope they do Shogun vs Machida.
by DirtyML on Sep 5, 2008 2:50 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Friday announced that the scheduled bout between Karo Parisyan and Yoshiyuki Yoshida for Saturday night’s UFC 88 in Atlanta has been scrapped.
Little information is known, as the fight was little more than 24 hours away from the bell. The UFC, however, did indicate that a last-minute back injury has forced Parisyan to withdraw.
by ramon on Sep 5, 2008 2:53 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Karo should be thrown out of the UFC. He is bad in every way for the sport.
by RandomTask on Sep 5, 2008 2:55 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs

by DirtyML on Sep 5, 2008 2:56 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I effing hate Karo so much. I had money on him losing! What the hell! Haha.
How does this even happen? He was at the pre-weigh in conference!!

imagine how yoshida feels …..the DAY before the fight he finds out he’s not fighting, he was prob already cutting weight and all that hard training…..poor guy
by Toad on Sep 5, 2008 6:48 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He had a panic attack and faked the back injury. How the hell did he injure his back? He should be training light the last week before the fight.
by Gord on Sep 5, 2008 11:09 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I personally want to see Mike Patt vs. Tim Boetsch promoted to the main card because I think that fight is going to be an incredible one.
Also, Pelligrino vs. Tavarez is a do or die fight, so that should be good as well.
Does anybody else think that Jason Lambert will not make weight?
by "Mr. NC-17" on Sep 5, 2008 3:38 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
It’s not like he was huge for 205, he had alot of fat on him, I see him making weight, And hopfully he’ll be a force in this division.
by Chase on Sep 5, 2008 3:49 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I know, I said he wasn’t huge, he was fat.
by Chase on Sep 5, 2008 4:38 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
im sure it wasnt to much trouble shedding the weight. wrestlers are used to cutting alot of weight.
by belfort_fan on Sep 5, 2008 4:41 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I wonder if his man tits went away, i didn’t see the Weigh in Vid or see the pics yet.
by Chase on Sep 5, 2008 5:20 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
His man-boobs are the only reason to watch him. They make me want to give him a dollar.
by PW on Sep 5, 2008 5:41 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
LOL PW, HE looks like he could drop to 170, and even then he’d probbaly still have man tits.
by Chase on Sep 5, 2008 6:18 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Jason “Sausage Tits” Lambert is a nickname i’ve heard often

I order EVERY PPV, The you invited 8 or 9 buddies over, and It turns into a 5 dollar event, I always here people complaining about the 45 dollars, Guess some people don’t have many friends …
by Liddell-Marquardt-GSP-Sherk on Sep 5, 2008 4:51 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Maybe they are too busy to make friends because of all the working to pay for $45 dollar PPVs every month.
by cmon on Sep 5, 2008 5:01 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Go to a bar and don’t get crazy with the drinks. I have yet to spend $45 at Buffalo Wild Wings and I usually get 4-5 beers and food.

I think I am going to be the only person on these threads to say…Rashad will out box Chuck to a UD win.
Dan TKO R2
Rich TKO R2
Kampmann UD
Stun Gun TKO R1 (I am assuming this gets bumped to main card)
by efisher on Sep 5, 2008 5:10 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
a concur, you will be the only person to say that.

Can anybody who watched the weigh-ins tell me, did Hammill appear to have a significant size advantage against Franklin?
by Brandon on Sep 5, 2008 7:09 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
BRANDON. it was hard to tell from the video and alot of them looked pretty gaunt from the cut. it will be alot easier to tell tommorow night when they stand face to face after rehydrating. and chuck did look like $hit, but he always does. it still a little shocking when he takes off his shirt and he has that fat hanging from his gut. he then usually goes out and puts on a great fight.
by b.w. on Sep 5, 2008 9:30 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
For everyone who says they aren’t buying the ppv or can’t afford it, fyi there are a ton of sites out there that stream the event for free. Google is your friend :)
by rydinlow on Sep 5, 2008 7:39 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
people that buy the ppv are the ones to keep everything going, so keep that for yourself.
by shamo84 on Sep 5, 2008 8:57 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
if rashad wins there is no point in watching ufc anymore………
by COlin on Sep 5, 2008 8:41 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I wouldnt go that far….but as a Chuck fan, if Rashad wins convincingly….there would be no more reason for me to route for Chuck anymore. I hate it when the older guys go out in shame, and if Chuck loses to Rashad, that will be shamefull
by Chadx23 on Sep 5, 2008 9:40 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Come on guys… Chuck aint gonna lose to Rashad. I’m sorry if you’re a Rashad fan, but it’s time to chalk up a loss, even with Chucks beer gut. I do keep hoping at every weigh in that we will see a huge, ripped Chuck, but it never happens :( Even with a loss here, he’d still go down in history as one of the greatest.
