hendo is a true class act. He takes on the best fights anyone can ask for. i dont think anyone has had the tougher opponents in their past 3-4 fights than this guy. Lets win this one hendo so we can see a rematch w the spider sooner than later.

it’s a crying shame hendo isn’t fighting franklin! a shame. franklin’s new first name is ‘Ducker’
by deuce 4 on Sep 4, 2008 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
franklin isn’t ducking anybody? if he does beat Hendo, what does it mean? Silva and Franklin 3 isn’t appealing to anyone. and hendo would have a 3rd loss in a row, witch isn’t good, when he seems like the only one capable of beating silva if he keeps to his game plan. The ufc only wants there best fighters in that division to lose to Silva, not loss to eachother as well. it would lower their credibility

damian maia and palhares are the ones to beat anderson silva.
by shamo84 on Sep 4, 2008 5:34 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I would Like Maia to do it, He needs to keep winning though, He’s a beast, he needs to keep training his Stand up with W.Silva and He’ll be a force. I wonder is cote will Shock the world and beat silva, but I dout it. Really Dout it.

I couldn’t agree with you more deuce. Hendo is the last fight i think Franklin should have in the middle weight division. It would have Dan more recognition for another title shot…. How much better would this fight have been with Chuck & Rashad as the main event and Hendo vs Franklin as the co main event!!! Hendo is one of my favorite fighters & I want to see him punish Palhares Saturday night!!!

LMAO! Rich “Ducker” Franklin! I really want these 2 pitted against each other. So yeah, it’s a shame. Joe SIlva should’ve known better.
But IMO, Joe SIlva is just savin’ better things for the future. Hendo vs Franklin would be a nice main event, don’ t you think. Plus, I guess the UFC just wants to really test Palhares, and see if he’s gonna live up with the hype. I really think Palhares is goin’ down on UFC 88. I could be wrong though if Palhares gets lucky. But time till tell…

Hendo would own Franklin, i wouldnt give rich much of a chance in that fight, I think Hendo has the advantage in just about everything, knock out power, wrestling, submissions, id give franklin the edge on standup but no way he knocks hendo out

Hendo is taking this fight hands down. I know John is calling the upset here but I’m calling a huge upset of Johns upset. I’m talking a quick Hendo KO or TKO.
by Cogito Ergo Sum on Sep 4, 2008 3:46 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
LMAO. I like the call of the huge upset of John’s upset. BTW John if you’re out there, would love to hear ur other betting tips. I for one, really like Yoshida at +2, how bout you?

War hendo!!!!!!!!!!! Please keep this fight on your feet!
by Chase on Sep 4, 2008 3:51 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
YEAH HENDO!
As long as Hendo sticks to his gameplan of keeping the fight standing, he is in no danger. However, Palhares is T minus 10 seconds away from waking up staring blankly up at the lights and rafters.
A month and a half ago I was really down on my boy Hendo and I too was calling for the Palhares upset. However, I have new found faith in my favorite MW and LHW fighter as of last week, or maybe even the week before, I don’t remember when I placed that bet.
QUICK QUESTION FOR ANYONE BESIDES JOHN BECAUSE I ALREADY KNOW HIS ANSWER (unless you want to really surprise me and pick Rashad): Which underdog out of Rashad Evans, Matt Hamill, and Rousimar Palhares do you see having the best chance at winning thier fight, and who has the least chance at winning their fight???
My answer, Hamill has the best chance at pulling the upset, for reasons I posted in the Franklin thread. And for the underdog with the least chance……. I was leaning towards Rashad, but I am starting to go towards Hendo more and more. I truely think that he is going to come out ON FIRE for this fight.

Sorry John, LOL, but I added a second part to my quick question, please feel free to answer!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL, my bad.

palhares has the best shot at a upset if you even want to call it that, dan is probally my favoriter fighter and i hope he wins but this is not a good match up for him and i see hamill franklin being a pretty evenly matched fight frankin way better striker hamill way better wrestler, usually the wrestlers wins but franklin does have some good skills on the ground just not great take down defense against a guy like matt. leaveing rashad who i think has little chance to win.

V<: I really hope Henderson wins that fight. I am such a fan of the guy that I almost didnt put money on silva when they fought, but as a hendo fan Palhares scares the crap out of me. I know all about the Roman Greco Pedigree but Hendo gets taken down often buy guys which we wouldnt expect to take him down. I am scared that the muscle tank Toquino doesnt take him down and slaps a sup on him. I hope it doesnt happen, but it worries me. I would rather pick wrong and Hendo win. Feel me?

John, are you going to watch this PPV from the house that was bequeathed to you, one of ‘your’ assets?
by the_mexicutioner on Sep 4, 2008 6:09 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
a think hamill could get the upset, i’m a huge franklin fan but i think hamill might be to good a wrestler for him, franklin has been taken down quite a bit by much lower level wrestlers than hamill, if hamill wins i think it’s by desision, i can’t see him finishing franklin

Anyone got any bets in on tonite’s game???
I got the Giants in a 3 team parlay for this weekend, moneyline. (Cowboys and Jags as well). I like all 3 teams to cover, but I am mainly trying to win back the little bit I lost on College Football last week. I had the Bowling Green and Fresno upsets picked right, but I of course had money on the two ranked favorites that lost, Tennesee and Clemson (F*ck ACC football!!!! I may be betting against the ACC in every out of conference game)
For the spread, Jags are currently -3, however the payout is Even instead of the standard -110 which I find intersting… The payouts vary for certain teams/odds.

Browns will beat the Cowboys! mark that shit down right now. Cowboys’ secondary blows
by Anthony on Sep 4, 2008 5:57 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I agree. beside my eagles, I have enjoyed watching the browns last year and will continue to do so this year!
by john on Sep 5, 2008 10:02 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
SPeaking of Eagles John, I really like them as well. And regarding the Browns… is Braylon Edwards healthy yet? Also, I am still one of the few that think Derrick Anderson was simply a flash in the pan last season. He had ZERO pressure last year (nothing to lose but EVRYTHING to gain) with the Brown’s drafting thier future quarterback in Brady Quinn.

the big question is can phalares take hendo down. i remember when almeida fought cote, alot on here thought almeida would take cote down easily and submit him. wrong. the only time ricardo could take him down was when he jumped into full guard. he wore himself out trying to pull guard. the best bjj black belt in the world wont do you any good if you cant take the fight to the ground. hendo is very hard to take down imo and i dont see phalares doing it. hendo isnt getting any younger, but he is a legend for a reason.

Palhares leglock! Check out tatame – Paulo Filho bets his house that this fight won’t go out of the 1st. I agree.

Holy sh*t, I haven’t been able to post all day. I tried like 50 times. I thought the nerds at my work got smart to me. Thank God, I thought I was actually going to have to do work! Has that happened to anyone else?
BTW, there is no way Hendo loses this fight, no way.

dan henderson will never beat anderson silva.. and he is not the worst match up for him.
by shamo84 on Sep 4, 2008 6:21 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
no shamo is right… jiujitsu players like Maia, Palhares, Almeida would be much tougher matchups for Anderson!

HEndo will beat this fool and either get his rematch OR fight once more at most and then he will get his rematch. Hendo vs silva will happen again and once again ima take Hendo!

It’s no secret Hendo is my favourite fighter. I’ve always loved the guy, through good times and bad. It seems to me he realizes the threat that Pahlares poses though. Hopefully he comes prepared.
I was fairly disappointed with Dan in his fights against Rampage (although it was still a great fight) and Anderson Silva. Not because he lost, but because he didn’t show enough aggression and desire to win. Nothing close to what he showed in his last few Pride fights. It’s the kind of thing that scares me and makes me wonder if age is catching up to him. Hopefully he bounces back on Saturday night.
I think as long as he keeps the ground game to a minimum, and his body can hold out, he’ll be able to keep it standing and outstrike Pahlares. Keep in mind though, he said he gassed in the second round when he fought Anderson Silva.

Off Topic. Cut and paste from MMA Rated.
MMARated.com has learned that a light heavyweight bout between Wanderlei Silva and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been offered to both fighters for UFC 91 on November 15th and is very close to being finalized.
The addition of Silva vs. Jackson to a UFC 91 card that is already headlined by Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar for the UFC heavyweight title would put this pay-per-view in position to be the highest-grossing PPV in UFC history. Currently, UFC 66 holds that distinction since that event – headlined by a rematch between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz – grossed $5,397,300 in live gate revenue and just over a million in pay-per-view buys.
This would be the third meeting between Silva and Jackson. “The Axe Murderer” holds two wins over Jackson while they were members of the PRIDE Fighting Championships in 2003 and 2004.
Silva was last seen defeating Keith Jardine in devastating fashion at UFC 84 while I’m not quite sure what Jackson has been up to lately. If anyone out there knows, please let us know.
