Haha. That was pretty entertaining. Brock is a riot saying that Randy’s ear is messed up just from Dana talking to him. Classic.

found this interesting (not the brock part, but the fedor/randy clause)
Kim Couture on Brock Lesnar: “I kind of feel sorry for the guy”
Submitted by Fight Ticker on September 3, 2008 – 11:45am. Brock Lesnar Headline Kim Couture Randy Couture UFC
Kim Couture — the wife of Randy Couture — spoke to Steve Cofield of Yahoo.com after yesterday’s UFC media teleconference.
Kim, herself an aspiring MMA fighter, assessed Brock Lesnar’s chances against her husband this way:
“It’s surprising to me, shocking that they’d throw a guy in there with only three fights. I kind of feel sorry for the guy. He poses some interesting problems but that’s what Randy is good at, is taking care of those problems. He’s no bigger or tougher than (Gabe) Gonzaga or Tim Sylvia.”
Kim also told Cofield that Fedor Emelianenko has a stipulation in his contract with Afflction that allows him to fight Randy “wherever, whenever.” It’s difficult to ascertain how she knows Fedor’s contract status, but it’s possible Randy talked to Fedor about this at some point.
Of course, even if Fedor has a “Randy” clause in his contract, that doesn’t make a bout between the two a done deal. The big issue with making a Randy-Fedor fight happen is that the UFC doesn’t want Fedor to fight just once inside the Octagon. Dana White wants to sign Fedor to a multi-fight contract.

That is so lame.. I can see why Dana wouldn’t want to risk having Fedor come in, beat his HW champ and then walk away taking a bunch of UFC fed publicity to some other org, but this is a fight that should have happened..

good find KEVIN! kim should keep her mouth shut b/c she comes off as being a novice comparing brock to sylvia and gonzaga. i think her big mouth is part of what has stalled randy’s career for the last year. along with his agent and randy as well. i didnt know that fedor had a randy “clause” in his contract, this gives that fight hope along with the fact that Affliction might not make it through the year. it’s lost alot of its luster, but if randy beats brock and the winner of mir/nog (nog imo), a big if, then i still wanna see that fight pretty bad. once again, good stuff kevin

VIOLENTMIKE DELIVERING THE FACTS
Kev, I am listening to yesterday’s conference call and Dana says that he will not go after Fedor while he in under contract with another org. Dana would be compltely F’ing suprised if Affliction was still in business in January. Once a company folds, the fighter is no longer under contract. Once Fedor is not under contract, UFC will pursue him with a fair offer. The UFC is NOT interested in signing Fedor to a 1 fight deal, NOR are they interested in co-promoting.

Ro-J: If you think I do not know how to already conduct myself in a business environment, then u r crazy!
Dont worry about what I’m doing because I am going to accomplish EVERYTHING i set out to accomplish in life. Worry about yourself!
Winners Win, Loosers Loose!
BTW, I dont hope to be working for Zuffa next year, I will be working for Zuffa next year. Once I get my interview, I am in! Worst case scenario, I will just tell them that I will work for free until I prove to be an asset to the company!
Either way, GOod bye Philly, Hello Fight Capital of the world!

Ro-J, I dont HOpe, I will be working for Zuffa next year. My University will set me up with an interview with them and thats all I need. You think I dont know how to speak properly in a business setting?
I been working tremendously hard at my goal for the past 4 years. Nothing can stop me. Worst case scenario I tell Dana white that I am willing to work for Zuffa, free of charge until I prove to be an asset to the company. NO BUSINESS man will decline an offer of free labor!
nothing can stop my medioric rise to where I want to go in life. “winners Win, and Loosers Loose”. I am a champion of LIFE already. If you knew my story, of where I was and what I turned my life into you will be shocked and then you will believe that I can do whatever I put my mind to. I have over come so much. And I am still here, sTRONGER then ever.
You can hate all you want, that doesnt bother me, it just fuels my desire and drives me.
trust me if you heard the trails and tribulations of my life, u would be amazed at the man I made myself into and I am far from done yet. How many people do you know give up boatlaods of money every week, and decide to go back to school at the age of 23? Nevermind what do you care? people like you live to bring people down. Im going to do me, do you, I wish you the best…..hate on!
as for mexicutioner the hater, some of my assets have been inherited, but with my own hard earned money but I did purchase a 2001 Acura 3.5 Rl (at the age of 19) brand new in 2001, paid it off by 2002, had extra money left and paid my way through college. I dont like to talk about that time of my life because I didnt earn that money legally (something I am now ashamed of. But I did change my ways, used my savings to put my self through college and now skies the limit!
“You can hate me now, but I wont stop now” I am not even close to being done!
I am a Star, I am going right to the top because I work my ass for it and no one will ever be able to take that away from me. So Hate on! Playa, but for those that are trying to better themselves take it from me, anything is possible if you are willing to work your ass of for it to the point were you refused to be denied. Anyone needs help turning there lives around, e-mail me and I will be honest about my story….Once you hear it, you will walk away knowing that no matter who you were in the past, you can change your life for the better. It wont be easy, but if you want it bad enough and are willing to do whats neccessary to acheive it, it will be yours!

lol I wondered that loose/lose thing too, he always does it. Does John really think Dana is part of the Human resources department or is he as delusional as he sounds? Zuffa has people reading web sites to see what hard core fans want, my guess is he’s flagged as a potential stalker to anyone who fought in pride rather than a possible employee. John, italian, drexel= red flag. I hope you accomplish your dreams john, but don’t go expecting to talk to dana, my guess is he doesn’t know the names of more than 10 % of the office folks, and could only pick 50% out of a line up. But to say you’ll tell him you’ll work for free sounds desperate, and to say you’ll pass along inside info is just plain dumb. I’ll reply to your reply now, I know I’m a hater, but delusional I am not!

I feel like it’s staged, all of it, and it looks like the UFC might end up getting a brodcasting deal with NBC.
Either way you look at it, it sucks (except; we finaly get the fights we were already intitled to see). The reputation with fighter relations is now comprimised, not slamed by an other promotion but from the inside.
Two fighters are being shafted (Nog/Mir). The logical ranking decision would have been Nog and Mir face off, then the winner would face couture(only inspite of the Ultimate fighter campaign comitments is this not happening). I understand that the promotion value is amazing the way it is, but it definately shows a lack of integrity in the scope of fair and deserved opportunities.
We hear Anderson talking about doing "big event matchups", Pen is markted to get the next shot at the WW title after beating Jens, Joe and The muscle Shark. I love Pat but there is alot of talk about him getting an undesrved title shot.
These actions will tarnish the spirit of MMA and the legitamacy of titles, but one thing is for sure Zuffa will make a ton of dough.

I know there’s one guy who can really kick Brock’s ass. It’s Stephen Neal, who now plays offensive line for the New England Patriots. Stephen Neal never played a football game at collegiate level. He was busy winning the wrestling match, including one against Brock and eventually won the national championship.

Nobody that plays for the patriots is going to be able to step into the cage and beat Brock right now. I don’t care how many wrestling matches he won 6 years ago, an mma fight is different, and you have to train for it. The last football player who thought he could step in and kick ass left on a stretcher just seconds later.

Here’s what I don’t get. one year of inactivity? He could have already been scheduled to fight Fedor, or already have fought him! He had one fight left on his contract. He loses one year of fighting just to sign a 3 fight deal. Why didn’t he just fight one more time, then go fight Fedor at affliction 1? Just saying!
by kevin doesn't know shit on Sep 3, 2008 12:51 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Didnt Randy have 2 fights left on his contract? IMO that 1yr off made it better for him! Now Randy gets a better contract, and with his upcoming fights, BIG money! And for the UFC, they get to stick it to Affliction. Because a Fedor/Randy fight would have brought in big PPV #’s. Its a smart move on both sides.
by JV on Sep 3, 2008 1:18 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yes, Randy had 2 fights left on his contract… Kevin has already shown in the other thread he knows nothing about the legal situation
by Kory on Sep 3, 2008 1:26 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Plus Randy knew Fedor was the biggest fight he could do. He didn’t want to take the chance of fighting 2 more times in the UFC b/c he might lose. He knew the UFC would give him the best two fighters they had and if he lost the Fedor fight wouldn’t make as much money
by Kory on Sep 3, 2008 1:29 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He did have 2 fights left on his contract. And at the time Brock was not around and Nog just squeaked out a decision agaisn’t Heath. There were no blockbuster fights for Randy to share huge money on PPV buys. Now there are and he doesn’t have to fight Fedor to get big money.
by BNF on Sep 3, 2008 1:32 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
We’re in 100% agreement BNF! Now Randy/Brock will shatter records and even if Randy loses to Brock, Randy/Nog will still sell? And if Randy doesnt get to fight Fedor, a Randy/Chuck 4 would also sell big!
by JV on Sep 3, 2008 1:42 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
how would randy get to fight Nog, they would have to set up a fight for the two belts
by Ro-J on Sep 3, 2008 3:28 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He couldn’t retire after the fights on his contract anyway if he retained the belt, his contract would have automatically renewed.

WOW! I think Brock wins this one easily. This will hurt Randy’s legacy. Randy will not be able to utilize his Greco Roman wrestling with Brock, because Brock will take Randy down easily. Plus, Randy has no superior submission skills like Mir. I also think Brock will out box Randy, and I even think Randy’s punches won’t even hurt Brock. Brock will over power Randy easily. Wait till you see Randy stand next to Brock in the cage right before they fight- the size difference will be embarressing for Randy.

I like Randy, but for his sake I hope he has better advice in his corner for the Lesnar fight then he has had in his legal battles of late. What a colossal waste of time, lost income and money.
I have a feeling his wife has been whispering in his ear for the past 11 months and he’s just waking up to the reality that he is a 45 year old fighter and time is running out for that “big pay day”.

He got caught by Chuck 2 times. Most guys GET caught by Chuck (except for Rampage). Probably weren’t Randy’s best fights. Again, watch the Couture Gonzaga fight and see how the 40 something schools the 20 something bigger stronger opponent. If that’s not being the master of the gameplan then I don’t know what is.

Most heavyweight legends don’t get caught by Chuck twice. I am not discrediting Randy, I am only saying his track record does not equal his legendary status. Take a look at his record and tell me what other person of his status would have those same 9 losses? I am no Fedor junkie, but I can tell you there is not a fighter among those nine that would have likely beaten Fedor even once. Nog would also have not likley lost more than 1…but 9??? Come on, Randy is a great man, but he is no where near the legendary status given to him the last 18 months.

Well, I hope they don’t get caught since Chuck fights LHW! I do agree with your statement that a guy with 9 losses probably doesn’t deserve the status but he has fought some pretty stiff comp and he’s held titles multiple times. Brock should go back to WWE, I don’t know why there is so much hype on him, he beat some no namer from K1 and Heath Herring, big name but can anyone tell me a noteable win for Herring. He punched the crap out of Mir and still lost beacuse he’s not a fighter he’s a wrestler as with most wrestlers they don’t know how to finish a fight just “dry hump”. And WTF is with smashing Kim, just cause a women should be in the kitchen doesn’t mean she knows jack about fighting, she’s alot closer to the game than anyone on this website. And if anyone knows anything about Randy, he’s been the underdog on most of his fights but still wins, because he trains to fight that person and knows how to finish a fight.

Please… Randy is 45 and giving up over 50 pounds of fighting weight plus there is a level playing field when it comes to wrestling. His wife saying he has fought guys just as big…. WHO?! Tim is the same weight but not the same size. This is a bad idea for Randy. I am not saying Brock is not gods gift at all, but brock is bigger, stronger, faster, has a longer reach, has just as much wrestling skill, etc, etc, etc. I understand that a lot of you hate Lesnar. I am not a huge fan. I also understand that a lot of you love Randy, why I dont know very very overrated. However, the real deal is that this is a terrible match up for Randy. This would be like randy fighting a lightweight, except he is faster, younger, stronger, and has a better reach than the lightweight. I can see four game plans for Randy,
1. He “lets” Brock take him down which he could do at will anyway. Then Randy tries to last until he can catch Brock in a submission which is not Randy’s best side.
2. He goes for the fences and hopes he lands the lucky punch early before Brock imposes his will. This is the most possible.
3. He fakes an injury. Second most likely.
4. He pays the ref just like Mirr did to help him win the fight.
Other than that the old man is going to get smashed.
