Reshad is ready but he is going to get hit harder than he has ever been hit before and I see him getting dropped in the first and maybe even TKO. but if he gets past the first it is going all 3 rounds.

BREAKING NEWS:

john, HW champion??? Did EliteXC strip Big Foot Silva?

by JV on Sep 3, 2008 10:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m not sure if they made the strip official, but he tested positive for roids.

by pUniSHment on Sep 3, 2008 10:08 PM EDT up reply actions

FEIJAO is LHW.

by ViolentMike on Sep 4, 2008 9:42 AM EDT up reply actions

First Ever, Big Foot was already the champion.

Maybe re-read your source.

I’m really excited about the Liddell/Evans fight. I can’t figure out how it is gonna go. Is Chuck going to hit a shot and drop him quick? The longer it goes, Rashad has much more of a chance of winning I think.

I think the longer it goes the more punishment Rashad takes? Rashad seems to have a good chin, but what about his heart? Will Rashad be tough enough to take Chucks bombs for 3 rounds? Im thinking once Rashad gets tagged a few times, his heart will sink, and he will just try to survive!!!

by JV on Sep 3, 2008 9:59 PM EDT up reply actions

I think Rashad’s heart will sink right about the time that the lights go down, the blue lights start to light up the arena, and DMX starts playing.

I am sure these will be great fights, but somehow, I am not that excited now that the Couture/Lesnar fight has been announced. Maybe they should have waited until after this weekend to let that bombshell out of the bag. Hopefully, the Countdown tonight will get me pumped.

by DrPepper on Sep 3, 2008 9:20 PM EDT reply actions

The countdowns always help me get into the fights.

by JV on Sep 3, 2008 9:56 PM EDT up reply actions

Absolutely!

I have been feeling a little negative towards the parlay that I placed where I have Rich Franklin winning. I am REALLY starting to think that he is going to have zero chance at stopping Hamill’s takedowns. He is going to be on his back for the vast majority of this fight. Rich’s guard is decent, but the question is how good has Hamill’s sub defense become? If he can avoid the submissions, I now see him winning this fight by decision. He is not dumb (he’s only deaf) so he will not stand and trade with Franklin for long. But, even if he did, that kid has a serious chin and an iron will. The reason Hamill stood and traded with Bisping is because he fought that fight with an injured knee with prohibited him from being able to shoot effectively. With a healthy knee, Rich is going to be on his back for a long time.

Off topic: all day we have been talking about how Nog and Mir got screwed over by the Couture/Brock situation.

THe real person that got screwed was Werdum. He was already promised a title shot against the winner of Nog/Mir…where does werdum go from here?

by john on Sep 3, 2008 9:36 PM EDT reply actions

I believe your answer is Cain Velasquez! My question is, what did Randy get per fight in his new deal?

by BLOodyMEss on Sep 3, 2008 9:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Werdum, should face the last man standing in the four man tournament! But Werdum should have a fight meanwhile!

by JV on Sep 3, 2008 9:49 PM EDT up reply actions

no Werdum should be fighting Nogueira in december.. Mir does not have a chance!

by RoB on Sep 3, 2008 10:00 PM EDT up reply actions

I dont think you guys should count Mir out! How do we know Nog’s JJ is better than Mir’s??? I wont count Mir out in that fight, and Im actually pulling for him!

by JV on Sep 3, 2008 10:03 PM EDT up reply actions

go Mir!

by brendan on Sep 3, 2008 10:44 PM EDT up reply actions

randy got a one millon doller signing bonus

and will get paid 500,000 a fight. plus ppv percentage.

fact. dont believe? wait and find out.

by stinky~fingers on Sep 4, 2008 10:32 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah Actually I was thinking the same thing… He will probably have to win one more fight and get the winner of the two champs that will fight. That will be a long time though… and who else is there for him to fight?

John, we share MMA as our passion and I am sure you are a great guy, which is why I am reluctant to ask you this, but, I really would like to know. Why do you frequently change the subject on threads? I am also curious why your posts are moved near the top. Do you work for MMAmania? If not, maybe you should. You have a lot of interesting ideas for posts and seem to have a source for breaking news.

by DrPepper on Sep 3, 2008 10:00 PM EDT reply actions

Because john is confused about the difference between a blog and a forum.

just watchin the countdown show right now and realized that Hamill’s fiancee is smokin. Just throwin that out there.

by Kickboxing Machine on Sep 3, 2008 11:53 PM EDT reply actions

I hope Chuck takes this fight as serious as he did with Wandi. He is getting older so he shouldn’t let this opportunity slip through his fingers. I think that the countdown was pretty good. That was cool seeing the footage of Chuck when he got the injury. It was also interesting that Rich and Matt are pals. didn’t know that. good that they brought up the fact that the Bisping fight was so controversial because it really was BS. I honestly don’t know who I want to win the Hammill Franklin fight. Franklin is returning to the lhw division so I want him to have a good start, but I also want Hammill so move up in the ranks. I hate that fight haha.

by RyanHobbs on Sep 4, 2008 3:58 AM EDT reply actions

rashad was b.s.‘n when he said he would stand and trade bombs with chuck. i look for him to shoot for the takedown the 1rst chance he gets.(i did like his mom though, “better watch those bruce lee movies or your gonna get your butt kicked”) chuck has been damn near impossible to takedown in the past and rashad is quick, but not that quick, so unless age has caught up with chuck i see winning by tko. iv’e liked hamill for the upset since they 1rst announced that fight, him strong like bull, and someone mentioned his fiance, whew!
