I’m very excited to see Sergei on this poster, he’s been out for too long! DREAM has done it again!!. I say Manhoef will steamroll through all tourney competitors, Sergei will be cracking some skull, and..well..that in itself makes this card the best of ’08 IMO (next to Affliction 1)

Affliction, waws better this card…that doesn’t say much for either of them.

Wow, I am a huge fan of Kharitonov, glad to see him back in the mix! Out of the two croatians on the poster I think only Zelg will make an appearance though. I’d be gladly mistaken, but I don’t see Cro Cop fighting or else – so I would assume – we’d also see Overeem on the poster.
This way they probably just put him on to boost sales, as Cro Cop is a living legend in Japan.

Manhoef is going to get embarrassed by Mousasi.

+1 Mousasi is legit. The dude was fighting in Pride when he was like 19.

Don’t underestimate Benkai! He told me in a PN he’s a 100% – Zelg won’t give Jacre as many opening as Mayhem by fooling around. :P

Zelg wont be able to mount any kind of offense because Jacre attempts 1 submisison after the other. Eventually Zelg will get caught and then my boy will do the celebration alligator crawl all over the ring!

You break my heart, but that play-by-play sounds probable ;(

Its a shame because I like all 4 of the middleweights left in the tournament. Any combination of the 4 will make for an excellent fight. Its a shame that there can only be 1 winner, but I gotta go with Jacre….For those that dont know, He is like a super athletic and strong Damien Maia whp like Maia, also is training on his striking with Wanderlei and the rest of Extreme Couture’s camp.
Jacre will win the tournament!

Thanks for the info, hope I could watch this in the office during “slack-time”…Hehe!!

Yeah I am impressed with mousasi too he is 15-1 in last 3 years that is alot of fight and alot of wins, I realize his no as flashy as manheouf but is more rounded and if he has smart game plan I see him taking the match. The thing that concerns me is that I’m not sure if he will be able to continue after the fight to take on the winner of Jacare and Zelg match.

if mousasi can avoid the stand up of manhoef and get the fight on the ground, he will have a much much easier time. manhoef is far easier to submit than to tko or take to the distance.

For those that aren’t too familiar with Jacre (when of my favorites) Check out this highlite. It shows his short mma career highlights and then goes on to show his grappling highlights which are the greatest I have ever seen. I Really think he might have the best Jits EVER!! Check it out:

god i hope he ends up in the ufc next year. ive been hyping this guy for the last year(not so much as you though john). he might be the one to finally give a.silva a great challenge.

Jacare is the real deal, I’ve watched those highlights more times then I could count and i’m impressed every time. That man is scary on the ground. UFC could have had him if they matched what Dream paid him… Oh well, in time I guess…

no worries, I am sure that he will eventually end up in the UFC. His Super Athleticism is what sets him apart from
other top grapplers. The kid is just amazing. For the ignorant fans who dont think grappling is exciting, watch Jacre highlights!

Son of a B*tch!!!! That’s why I love this site, cuz I always get info I didn’t know. I always hear you guys talk him, but I’ve never seen him in action. He’s an animal! Freakish combination of strength and “fluidity of movement.” Thanks for the link! Now I’ve GOT to see him compete.

This card is better than every UFC card this year? Is that Travis Lutter in the back?
by jay on Aug 17, 2008 8:30 AM EDT reply actions
Lutter? I believe that’s Sergei Kharitonov, the full-time Russian paratrooper and part-time fighter. I’m glad to see him back in competition, and I hope he fights CroCop, and not Overeem for a third time. I also hope CroCop does appear on the card, he’s been out for a while, and he needs to get his overrated ass kicked.

Poster looks like it was taken by a very tall photographer who couldn’t focus the picture.

Finally, DREAM will be able to get some good ratings with Mirko, Akiyama and Minowaman all in action. About time.

Chuffed to see Sergei thats for sure, but i too hope its not against Overeem as weve seen that twice before.
I dont see him going against Crocop either as I reckon they’ll give both of them a couple of Japanese dudes to beat up on instead. Wasn’t expecting Crocop back just yet but I guess he is if he’s on the poster.
Either way I’d be happy to see Sergei back in action as he is one tough dude and a handful for anyone out there.
