Well, I guess it ain’t cool for Patrick Cote at all. 1st off, he’s facin’ the Spider so he should be scared[like what he looks like in the poster]. 2nd, he better watch out if he plans to do a strikefest with the Spider because he’s really gonna get it! Anderson can give him what he’s askin’ for, and that’s his funeral, lol!!

by TheNegation on Aug 16, 2008 10:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i know some posters are gonna think im crazy but i honestly believe that if bisping beats leben convincingly hes gonna get the next title shot.its highly marketable for a british show over here next year and you could also put the winner of the kampmann/marquadt vs henderson/palhares on the undercard so it adds that extra bit of mw flavour.hey even add leites/reljic winner to fight maia aswell.

by SCOTT on Aug 16, 2008 12:04 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

a.silva and his manager have already talked about fighting bisping in england and how that would be a big fight, so you may be right.

by b.w. on Aug 16, 2008 12:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

After this fight I think Silva will fight next at LHW. If Bisping wins he will need to fight a top contender before fighting Silva for the belt.

by MoonUK on Aug 16, 2008 2:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah. i dont think they meant his next fight if he beats leben, they were talking more down the road. i think if bisping wins he will have to beat a dan hendeson or a rich franklin, maybee. you never know with the ufc. as far as a.silva fighting at lhw, i thought he should stay there after the irvin fight, because there really is no challenge for him at 185 unless the winner of bj/gsp moves up whenever that happens.

by b.w. on Aug 16, 2008 6:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He’s obviously not going to abandon his belt just to face a challenge in LHW. That’d be a little silly. As for Bisping, he will need to face a top 5 MW and win convincingly for a title shot. That’s not at all unreasonable, I mean if Cote can get a title shot, anyone can.

by chefdaddy on Aug 16, 2008 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i just thought he should have stayed at lhw and went for that title unless machida ends up champ. going up and down in weight would/will take its toll on any fighter, but then again a.silva isnt just any fighter. as far as bisping, thats pretty much what i meant when i said he would have to beat a hendo or a franklin, a top 5 fighter, then get the title shot. i think we partially agreed on this, but i cant tell.

by b.w. on Aug 16, 2008 9:47 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I just hope Bisping loses. I like Liverpudlians[like the Beatles and their football team] but there’s just just somethin’ about the underdog that makes me root for them. Go Leben!!

by TheNegation on Aug 16, 2008 10:03 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Silva will fight Bisping next if Bisping wins im sure! And Bisping will win! he is brilliant at this weight!

by Tony on Aug 16, 2008 12:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

No shot Bisping beats Silva! Sorry Tony ya boy is gonna get worked!

by WB on Aug 16, 2008 3:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

bisping will not beat silva. he got outstruck by matt hamill, he would get tko’d in the first or loose a decision if he backed away the whole time and didn’t engage

by markg on Aug 16, 2008 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ive told Bisping to call Silva out in the octagon if he beats Leben!

by Tony on Aug 16, 2008 12:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Brilliant gameplan, nothing like making Silva mad (and we’ve seen what he does to fighters he likes and respects). Tony, please tell me where you think Bisping is better than Silva? I’ve asked you this before and you’ve never responded. C’mon, break it down for me!

by chefdaddy on Aug 16, 2008 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

That would be the absolute dumbest thing Bisping could ever do. Usually an angry fighter makes mistakes but I think that Silva is an exception to that rule. I am not a Silva nuthugger but he would destroy bisping at any weightclass at anytime!

by Psyqo78®™ on Aug 16, 2008 7:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He can’t chefdaddy, it is nothing but a convoluted dream!

by Psyqo78®™ on Aug 16, 2008 7:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Why the moderation Mr. Holland?

by Psyqo78®™ on Aug 16, 2008 7:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

he probebly thinks that bisping is faster than him with his new fancy footwork that has been working against a UTF bum… and Jason Day.. and funny thing is that he couldn’t even knock out JAson day NOR could he the other with those knee strikes.. anderson silva is stronger, faster, and has a better ground game.. BUT I WOULD love to see the fight happen still… Cuz leben 2 won’t be interesting.

by Ricky on Aug 16, 2008 8:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ricky: are you actually complaining about Bispings last too performances. It is very hard to knock someone out that turtles up. Does it matter KO or TKO?

by MoonUK on Aug 17, 2008 3:44 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Pauncho Alves actually seems to think he’s going to KO Sanchez.

Weak card

by RandomTask on Aug 16, 2008 1:45 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

???? How can this be a weak card? Anderson putting a beating on somebody is always worth it. And Diego/Thiago will be a war!

by JV on Aug 16, 2008 3:16 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Relijc vs Leites is a sick fight too…

by BNF on Aug 16, 2008 3:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This ain’t a weak card! I guess you just don’t know how to see quality fights in the makin’. And whatever’s posted above me is right. Anythin’ with the Spider on it is gonna be sick! Automatic highlight reel!

Off topic but Proelite just cancelled their Cage Rage fight that was scheduled for tonight. I feel this is definitely a sign of things to come.

by OI BOY on Aug 16, 2008 3:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

they are pretty much cancellling every show except the cbs event in oct. they wont even put up their quaterlies. i would have to say that if oct with kimbo and gina doesnt do BIG ratings they are done. there pretty much done anyway and have been for a while.

by b.w. on Aug 16, 2008 5:19 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

all signs point to bankruptcy soon.

by b.w. on Aug 16, 2008 5:41 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yes, they will fade as the garbage org they are, Kimbo? give me an effing break, no class, no integrity, he’s just a thug who’s act is about to close for good.

by Lycan on Aug 16, 2008 6:03 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

So it looks like their Kimbo investment has kinda backfired on them. I wonder which organization will pick up the leftovers especially since most are UFC veterans that left for greener pastures.

by Psyqo78®™ on Aug 16, 2008 6:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lycan, How funny. I am watching Underworld right now. well it’s on and I am on the computer. Coincedence I think not. And yes he is garbage. I would love Dana to give him a 1 fight deal and put him in there with Lesnar. Since they are equall on the “experience” level. Kongo would be good for him too. since both have no ground game it wouyld be nice to see Kimbo get knocked out by someone other than Sean Gannon ala youtube

SWEET!!! I work like 20 minutes from the mall. I’m thinking I will be there.

I would like Anderson to step up to 205lb after this and maybe fight the winner of Jardine v Vera

by braveheart on Aug 16, 2008 6:59 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Same here, it’s almost getting too routine the way he dissects his middleweight opponents. I wanna see Silva fight someone like Forrest Griffin, Keith Jardine, or Rampage Jackson!! Let him be truly challenged!

by RedDog on Aug 16, 2008 8:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

r.i.p. cote, you could always fake a last minute training injury and save yourself some face. please cote dont make it worse by claiming that silva wont want to stand with you. cote dont believe the hype, when joe rogan says you are a dangerous heavy handed striker with a solid chin, well he has to say that he is a paid salesman selling a fight. have fun being the newest guy on the silva highlight reel. just dont curl up in the fetal position like sandman did. sandman threw one kick and when silva caught that kick sandman knew he was done he hit the eject button and curled up waiting on ref stoppage.

by day1er on Aug 16, 2008 7:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Are you going to write the eulogy for Cote or is it ok if I get to work on it? lol

by RedDog on Aug 16, 2008 8:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Never say never patrick but “stop hitting me now” might come in handy

by Jakey on Aug 16, 2008 9:23 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Cote is going to win by KO. I like silva but I like cote more.

by TKO on Aug 16, 2008 9:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

patrick cote!?
terrible!
i do NOT like silva but his skills are undenyable!
only 185 who has a POTENTIAL chance is, well i was gonna say Okami but Franklin BEAT him and we know what happened to him.
myabe if GSP moves up or Fitch (big 170) or if a good 205 drops ie wandy or Thiago.

by SouthCaliStunNa on Aug 16, 2008 9:31 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Okami is dirt compared to Chonan I think. He[Okami] wouldn’t stand a chance even if he brings his samurai with him, LMAO!

by TheNegation on Aug 16, 2008 10:27 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I know that I’m going to take a lot of heat for this, and understandable so but Silva’s next bout will be his rematch with Cote! Cote stuns the world and knocks silva out therefore making Silvas next fight a rematch with Cote.

by mmanutz. on Aug 16, 2008 9:58 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I would love nothing more

I agree, cote has the tools to ko silva, hes a good fighter for some reason he gets no love on this blog, i think cote will upset silva

by jsoph on Aug 16, 2008 10:53 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If Cote upsets Silva, I’ll be “upset”!

by TheNegation on Aug 16, 2008 11:08 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Be ready to be upset then, cause Cote wins by first round ko! Silva will get the instant rematch and destroy Cote :(

by mmanutz. on Aug 16, 2008 11:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

cote doesnt have a chance. if anyone thus far was going to KO silva it would have been franklin, maybe hendo.
btw i like NEITHER cote nor silva

by SouthCaliStunNa on Aug 17, 2008 12:52 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sounds like most have only seen Cote fight in UFC, check out his TKO fights. Beleive me Cote hits harder that Franklin, maybee not as hard Hendo but hje hits HARD.

by Ro-J on Aug 17, 2008 8:36 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

cote getting a title shot is a disgrace. this is what happens in a cleaned out division, somebody has to fight the champ. there is no way in hell that cote will survive silva much less beat him!!! Some of you guys need to PUT DOWN THE BONG and get some fresh air. look cote is 4-4 in the ufc he lost his first 4 fights and won his last 4. He has only knocked out 2 guys so he is not exactley a head hunter, or a knock out artist that bs is only to sell ppvs. I dont consider scott smith, kendall grove, drew Mcfedries, or ricardo almeida quality wins. he is only getting a shot because there in no body left. after cote is disposed of bisping will be next(i hope) he has way beter standup than cote, but i dont think he will do much better

by day1er on Aug 16, 2008 11:41 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Ya and you probably think BJ deserves a shot at GSP.

by Ro-J on Aug 17, 2008 8:37 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

no bj already had a shot at gsp. he lost in fact he lost his last 2 fights at ww. bj made a choice to go to lw, he has obligations as champion to defend the belt. i could care less to see bj and gsp fight again. in order for bj to weigh 170 he would be lacking the cardio because when hes in shape he weighs 155.

by day1er on Aug 17, 2008 12:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ive told you! Silva has been fighting bums and drug cheats! Irvin and Cote! Cote couldnt last a round with Bisping. Why do people use Bispings fights against Hamill and Evans to prove why he can’t win Silva? he was slower fatter smaller amnd against big wrestlers in that weight division.

by Tony on Aug 16, 2008 11:56 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Ok chefdaddy Bisping can beat Silva because. he is faster stronger quicker and aggresive at this weight! and most of all he isnt scared he would love to be 1 fight away from beating the best fighter on the planet because if he wins he will be the best then! the reasons he lost at light heavy can’t come into this as there are no big wrestlers who can keep him down at this weight. Silva knows Bisping is a danger to him.

by Tony on Aug 17, 2008 12:00 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

We’ll just have to agree to disagree until that fight happens. And I do think it will happen sometime in the future as the UFC is running out of competition for Silva. They may even have Bisping NOT fight Hendo or Franklin (assuming those guys stay at 205) cuz if he lost to them, that’s one less title fight for the spider! And Bisping IS faster, stronger quicker and more aggressive at 185. The problem lies in the fact that he’s NOT faster, stronger, quicker, more aggressive, or skilled than Silva! Bisping has been called “crisp” with his striking at MW, but crisp doesn’t knock anybody out. Silva is FAR more technical, with each punch capable of causing facial reconstructive surgery. The Count would have to bang, cuz if he tried to jab and outpoint the Spider, he’d just get KTFO. He couldn’t use his knees as much either. Don’t forget, Anderson is first and foremost a Muy Thai fighter (with a blackbelt in BJJ) who went 40-1.And although the count can fight on the ground, he’d just be outclassed, like every other person at MW.

by chefdaddy on Aug 18, 2008 8:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i hate cote cause he has heavy hands and thinks that hes a world class striker all of a sudden..

Off Topic:
On Aug 9th Jesse Holland posted an article about Dan Liddell fighting his debut bout in Visalia. My wife and I attended this event based on that info knowing that Chuck was sure to be there to support his little brother. It turns out that Dan in fact did not fight that night. Even in Dan’s absence Chuck was there, and we got to meet him. He is a genuinely good guy, and I was very impressed with him and his willingness to give time to the fans. It was an entertaining night of fights, and well worth going. I was just wondering what happened to Dan? They did not say at the event. Anyone know?

by Bob on Aug 17, 2008 2:03 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i pick diego on this one, thiago is in momentum right now, but diego infact is still there despite of losses to koschek & fitch, but never been finished by any body,

by mad_drummer on Aug 17, 2008 6:38 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Diego will stop the Thiago train and Silva will be locked up due to the murder of Cote!

by HitmanBert on Aug 17, 2008 12:06 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Too bad Diego Sanchez doesn’t have any fans. Maybe he can sign an autograph for his mom. More time anyways to work on his weak pre-fight stare-down. “More steaming… more lookin’ hard…”
