This is an interesting card. It’s gonna be great.

Lets just hope for KO after KO, this one was set up to light up the boards and we could possibly see a couple of the undercards. I’m glad to see these fights but none of them are number 1 contender worthy including the Liddel Evans fight.

I think Hammil might pull the upset here, of course only if he’s been training during his time off. It won’t be a fun fight to watch if he does.

Agreed.

Karo is going to dominate this fight and I think Karo will finish this and not go to decision. I like Yoshi when I used to play mario cart but fun time is over for Yoshi he is going to get welcomed to UFC in a rude way. I feel that UFC have thrown him to the wolves only his second fight in UFC. RIP Yoshi

by TKO on Aug 15, 2008 3:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

karo’s a savage. he’s going to judo throw yoshida on his back and then yell in his face “bro! do you know what i can do to you?!” and then he’s gonna do whatever it was he was talking about.

LMAO!!! Karo has alot of raw talent, he just needs to focus!

by JV on Aug 15, 2008 2:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

JV: I got some chicano news for you: (cut n paste)

— The UFC is having a lot of trouble finding an opponent for Cain Velasquez. As Bloody Elbow’s Mchael Rome puts it, "[Velasquez] is very good, but he has no name value yet, so fighters don’t see any upside in facing him."

by john on Aug 15, 2008 3:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yea he does. and finish! cuz Yoshida didn’t even waste his time with War machine. choked him out in 2 seconds all fresh and not even tired. lol.

by kama kaze on Aug 15, 2008 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dam thats messed up john! Id like to see Velasquez smash Eddie Sanchez just for fun.

by JV on Aug 15, 2008 3:33 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

THat would be fun, especially since I cant stand Eddie Sanchez. He is such a BUM! He is so bad that the proud Mexican race wont even claim him as one of their very own! lol and Mexicans are known for loving EVERYTHING Mexican, am I right JV? Just not Eddie Sanchez. I will never forget all the dumb screaming he was doing in the Sao Palelli fight!

I wish the main event was on the undercard. Get the 20 secs over with and get to the good stuff.

by DSmith on Aug 15, 2008 1:13 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

why is rich franklin moving up to 205 for this card when he could’ve fought dan henderson at 185. i think franklin would get exposed by hendo for the overrated fighter he is. i’m a franklin fan but the only good fighters he’s fought have beat him, silva and machida. who’d he beat, a washed up shamrock, evan tanner is mid-level at best, tanner’s a good guy but he was a joke for a champion. talk about the ufc’s dark days, evan tanner as a champ.

by deuce 4 on Aug 15, 2008 1:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

deuce you sound like a hater man. franklin is far from overrated i think his place a bottom top 5 mw is well deserved. you can judge a fighter by the available roster of fighters he had available to him. back then evan tanner was a for reall top level fighter. and franklin wa just brand new coming in. it would be agood fight to watch between hendo an franklin…hendo’s wrestling would be his only real threat his hand are too wild for a technical guy like franklin. truat me man your not a franklin fan at all.. you say that to ad more credibility to you your unfounded judgemen of franklin…a fan would not say he has fought nobodies and is overrated!the saying he was a joke as champion. your a joke man. the fact that you use such a false pretense for you accusation to sound more founded by saying “im a franklin fan”.. duh! nice try. its unfair to judge like that. at the moment franklin didnt really have a lot of great mw to fight…same case in fedor a few years back…just didnt have the roster of hw to fight him. and ppl start going crazy over it.and why would he not fight at 205!? hes done it before and opened eyes plus what if he beat hendo? franklin silva III so soon? would be a figh that would make sense. plus having franklin at mw cuts down the list of contender. cus they throw who ever is next in line mostly to franklin and then they will do the same with hendo…thus making them the only two challenger to the title for the rest of their careers lol

by santiago69us on Aug 15, 2008 3:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think Henderson will have his hands full with Palhares but I see Dan winning this one as he will have quite the size/strength advantage….get ready for a ground battle

by McArthur on Aug 15, 2008 3:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

this is gonna be a good card. but they can make it so much better… i think Rich should fight Dan henderson would make a much more exciting fight… or even Dan and Nate.. and of course liddel is gonna knock out Rashard hard… chuck does his best against wrestlers with no stand up…

by Ricky on Aug 15, 2008 1:31 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Hopefully Rich and Hendo will both win their fights on this card (which I predict) and then they will meet at the NYE card at whatever weight they agree on.

Card has the potential to be the best ever. GSP just has to man up! Haha. (Not bashing GSP here – I have GSP beating Penn whenever they finally fight, regardless of his mental exhaustion)

Sorry for the hijacking but here is some interesting news from Cro Cop about his next fight. Lets hope DREAM sets it up.

Mirko Crocop has responded from his own personal blog on www.MMA-ID.com

Here is what he had to say:

" Hi everyone, today I can take a bit more of free time so I’m here with you to share my thoughts and give you a little insight to my current trainings and career status.

Good news first. I’m very satisfied with my recovery and I’m back to my usual training regiment. I feel no pain and everything looks perfect so far. I’m training hard, really hard, as I feel I have a lot more to prove. First to myself, but to army of my loyal fans as well! I had no summer break, I’m 100% focused on getting back on track and I can promise you many great things from Cro Cop.

Regarding September 23, I’m expect to fight, but nothing is still officially confirmed. I leave this to DREAM and I have no doubt that I’ll be there on that card, fighting whoever they put me against. I’m hoping to face a top ranked fighter, preferably Alistair Overeem. I’m familiar with his latest interviews and many people already asked me what do I think about his words. I don’t like commenting other fighters, it’s not my thing.
But Alistair, you should save your strength for a real fight, because it’s coming. When I see you in the opposite corner, then I’ll talk.

I’m off to my hometown to visit my familly and friends, since it’s an Assumption Day in Croatia and I took a day off. On Monday I resume my preparations for September and expect some exclusive materials from my trainings here on www.mma-id.com soon!

Mirko "

I dont know what to make of this. Alistar has been calling him out for a while now, Mirko has been post poning 1 fight after another. I really want to see the match up, but I am not holding my breath!

Cro Cop has turned into mr. Irrelevant!

Is it just me or is the event site not up and running with the in-depth videos?

They dont have them up yet.

I was looking for some ranking sites for MMA, and this one has to be the worste ranking system out there.

Dude WTF? Aside from it being run by retards, literally, BJ Penn is nowhere to be found. Good find man. That shit had me rolling.

by the_mexicutioner on Aug 16, 2008 12:18 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

What a great find. Im impressed with the fact they don’t use the offical fight verdict, its who “the panel” THINK won the fight.

by UKmmaBOY on Aug 16, 2008 6:17 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Meh, not one of their best event sites… Red (the interactive agency they hire) seems to be lowering their standards… Either that, or budgets have gone down…

by ARodOfIron on Aug 15, 2008 5:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

karo is very very upset on his defeat against alves, he might under estimate that guy, coz he prefer to fight thiago rather than fitch & he got KTFO. & i think we’ll gonna see a brand new karo in this fight, & in better shape.

karo by TKO or Submission rear naked choke
