i like the retelling of the back alley fight, other than that this story was boring. it wasnt about mma, it was a story about a bank hiest wich just happened to have a former mma fighter in it. and it is an old story at that. maxim magazine had published this story lik a 8 or 9 months ago. whaaaa.

ran low-level street crimes – drugs, hookers, weapons
started his own security company (which gave him access to the bank he would eventually rob)

had a car collection
became a professional fighter
knocked tito ortiz out cold in the back alley of a london nightclub (pat miletech was a witness. said murray “lit him up like a christmas tree”. awesome)
was stabbed in the heart 3 times during a london street fight. died 4 times on the operating table, survived on sheer toughness.
PULLED OFF THE BIGGEST BANK HEIST IN HISTORY. made off clean with 53 MILLION pounds.

Lee Murray was actually holding his own better than most against badASS (anderson spider silva) in Cage Rage. It was funny how the commentators wanted to say he was winning even though it was obvious that he was going to (and did) lose the decision.

Did they find the rest of the money?

This story has Hollywood written all over it. And the fact that it’s a true story makes it even more incredible. I wonder if he teaches inmates how to put people to sleep like Leben did? :)

I remember Tito calling out Murray. He said something like there is this little buck 85er talk smack and needs to be taught a lesson. I remember like it was yesterday, I was in in Jorge Rivera’s room maybe 4 hours before his fight with Lee Murray and he said Mike I am going to take this guy to the ground right away which was very surprising to me because Jorge is so good on his feet. He wanted know part of Lee on the feet. The fight starts Jorge takes him down me and everyone with me are excited thinking Jorge has it in the bag about two seconds later the fight was over Jorge had been submitted with an arm bar. Rumors of Tito getting beat down were heard everywhere. It’s too bad that fight never happend because those two guys really didn’t like each other.

I have always liked Lee Murray and with that heist that he was part of, I knew that they just had to make a film about him, there is just two much there not to. Check out this interview with him, the guy is the real deal.
