No one cares if your first, anyways, Silva is going to Knock Cote the hell out. Cote has no way of wining, unless he gets lucky, or if he’s the spiders Kryptonite, witch I dout. I want to see a Hendo/Spider rematch, Hopfully Hendo wins his next fight, it’s going to be a tough one. Warr Hendo!!!!!

Yeah, who da f**k cares if you got here 1st? I would somehow care if you’ve got somethin’ to say…Well anyway, if you happen to pay close attention, Cote looks mighty scared of Silve, and he better be! He’s askin’ for it, it’s suicide.
As dor the Sanchez-Alves fight, I really don’t care who wins because they’re gonna face a wall anyway after that. I believe that wall by then will still be GSP.

I found out that nobody likes him on this site but me hah, I’ll support him no matter what. I want to be the only fan, so I won’t try to convert you hah.

by crowls on Aug 12, 2008 2:04 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I’ll support Him no matter what, He’ll be the next WW champ, Mark my words. He’s got more ability then GSP, he just needs to get his game togther, If he used more of his wrestling, and is more Agresive with it, He’ll beat gsp. Now where all the People thats on Gsp’s nutts? Common and Bash me.
by Chase on Aug 12, 2008 2:23 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
chase..dont ever say that hes gpot more ability…he duz not even close to have more ability..his best ability is wrestling..which gsp never did in his life..and he still tossed around “kos” like he was a junior high school student..He had nothing..he beat dieago nin the most boring fight in the wrold…tied with sylvia arlovski 3
by Xtreme Couture15 on Aug 12, 2008 2:38 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He dominated Lytle, witch most of you said he would lose, I said Kos would win and he did, I think he did well against Lytle, no better then what GSP could have done, He has the Ability, He’s improving, Quickly but of Course He’ll always be Mianly a wrestler, thats in his blood, But he also is Evolving his Whole Game, WARRRR KOSCHECK! Next WW Champ!!!!!!!
by Chase on Aug 12, 2008 2:48 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
No im actually with you on this one Chase.
If he just would;
improve his striking *improve his BJJ * use his wrestling more “Agresiv” (french?)improve his cardio
*get quicker *get stronger *improve his mental strength
He probably would beat GSP and become the champ.
And then if he just;
*became taller *bought a better range *improved his mental strength even more so he could see 4 sec before time and also teleport * mental inplants in forehead and fists trough hi-tech surgey
He probably could go up in wieght and challenge Anderson Silva
And if he just would;
*get a haircut *grow a personality *talk and think like a normal human being.
he could even be a loveable champ with a fanbase bigger than you and his mum.

THis event should be awesome. Another KO will be delivered

Goran Reljic vs. Thales Leites (middleweight)
Ricardo ‘Big Dog’ Almeida vs former IFL fighter Matt Horwich (I really dont know how this guy made it to the UFC, seems kind of slow)

Thats really great and all that you two are fans of Kos. I used to actually like the guy. That seemed to go away very quickly tho. He is a mediocre fighter all around.
To say that he has more talent or whatever than gsp? That is just crazy. Im not gonna repeat what others have said because its pointless. Just re-read the post by:

John! I’m pretty dodgy about your upset of the night. Do you really think that Palhares could pull it off over Henderson? Well I know anythin’ goes in an MMA match, but I really don’t think so…

i would rather much see him fight hendo again. enough of these cheap contenders that think they have a chance(irvin), yes they are contenders and deserve title shots but its time to put on the mega fights. its like bj running through his division…we expect that, we wanna see the big boys against the big boys…like we will w gsp vs bj… so spider needs to start fighting the big names that have been around and are still at their best, its the only way well know if anderson is truly in a league of his own…yeah yeah..hes ran through his division, but thats my point! leben, marquardt, rich, irvin, etc dont exactly do it justice. give him lidell, machida, wanderlei, rampage, shogun, so we can really start separating him as one of the best ever. I realize its not his fault and spider is sucha badass he wouldnt turn down any of those fighters, but i want dana to make these fights happen sooner than later not when lidell is 3 years older etc. so we truly know when fighters are fighting eachother at their peak. i mean cote? come on. plus anderson is fighting guys much smaller so i cant help but think he has an initial advantage lol. look at the irvin fight, he was acutally bigger than irvin. Is anderson in his comfort zone at middleweight, or is he somewhat reluctant to fight a guy his size…idk…time will tell. as i said, im hoping for those fights to start coming together sooner than later

Cote is in for a world of hurt. I want to see Silva lose, as Im sure Rich Franklin does, but its not happening this time. I feel sorry for Cote, hopefully he proves me wrong tho. Im rooting for you Cote, just not putting any money on you winning.

still disappointed this is what chicago gets as the first Illinois show….I mean, I like Silva, but this is going to last 1 minutes, and Sanchez/Alves would be a good “third” fight.

you and all the haters, will eat your words. ok…he might not win, but one thing I know he fold and he won’t get knocked out. Cote will have to be in deep to beat, I mean it,he is ready for this.

OFF TOPIC: Does anyone see a Gray Maynard vs Rob Emmerson 2 match up down the road? With Emerson coming off two wins and Gray getting three in a row including a win over Frankie Edgar. Due to the disapointing ending of the first fight the timing might be right for a rematch. What do you guys think?
by DB on Aug 11, 2008 10:48 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
not a bad fight but i think gray is just higher in the rankings then rob emerson.
by matthew on Aug 11, 2008 10:50 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
yeah I was thinking that aswell, but I definatley think it’s a possibility especially beceause it’s a marketable fight.
by DB on Aug 12, 2008 10:57 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Gray’s win over Edgar is going to leave him with a much higher contender. He is beating the tar out or Emerson before the slam and bad call by the ref. Gray was stunned for sure but Emerson tapped.
by halljam2 on Aug 11, 2008 10:58 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Technically, it wasn’t a “bad call by the ref”. The ref’s call was the Emerson had tapped. It was the athletic commission that overturned the ref’s decision.

Is it just me or is Silva on the attack even in the poster? He’s leaning in…even on a promotional poster!!!
by Shadyone33 on Aug 11, 2008 10:51 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Please don’t take this as disrespect, but as much as I would like to see someone finally beat Silva, I just cant see cote being the man to do it.
Best of luck to him tho – hope he trains harder than he ever has before.
by spawn on Aug 11, 2008 10:52 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Why would you really want someone to beat Silva?? honestly?? he’s not a disrespectful fighter, he’s a true champion and its actually sick watching him fight, he’s not boring, he’s respectful, nobody comes close(except fedor/GSP) so im very curiouse to know why anyone would really want him to lose??
by Ricky on Aug 11, 2008 11:15 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Well I guess Spawn is sick and tired of Silva retaining the belt so many times that he’s hopin’ someone would dismantle him from the throne…Don’t worry spawn, Silva is gonna lose. Maybe next decade, haha!!
by TheNegation on Aug 12, 2008 12:16 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I want to see him lose. I feel that when he loses, he will either bounce back with some serious aggression, or he will move up a class and dominate there. For a bit anyways.
He seems to be a very stand up gentlemen. That has nothing to do with it. I just like seeing champs get beat and then become champ again. Look at the fire it put in to GSP.

actually yes he was at the Elite XC card.. he was corner one of the guys.. and his face was MASHED!!!… this is gonna be a good card, but i dont’ see cote taking it or even coming close to it… what i would really like to see if Silva vs Forrest Griffin…. i mean BJ penn wants to move up the weight class and fight GSP… Silva should do the same to forrest.. except silva will dominate forrest and bj will just lose but with solid effort

Here’s what really going through Cote’s mind about the reality of fighting Silva in October.
10.I want my mommy.
9. What the hell was I thinking…this isn’t worth the 20K
8. GSP you asshole, you told me Silva was going to stay at 205
7. Why can’t this be a hockey fight, I’d pull his jersey over his head and pound him.
6. Wouldn’t it be great if I could “tag in” Brock Leasner WWE style
5. I’d better not forget an extra pair of clean underware for the ambulance ride to the hospital after the fight
4. Anderson Silva you’re a pussy…crap I said that out loud?
3. GSP get over here..come break my arm.. I need an injury
2. Those idiots..don’t they know it’s a "Canadian holiday on that day..ha ha….I don’t have to show up
1. Joe Silva, you idiot! I’m not the #1 contender
Cote, take my advice..turtle up after the first knee to the head, and don’t get up.

by Ro-J on Aug 12, 2008 7:12 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Seriously I’d love to see Cote stay in there for 5 rounds, but Silva is probably the best finisher in the business. Look at his two toughest UFC fights against Hendo & Lutter, once you saw the tide turning in Silvas favour it was just a matter of time before those two tapped. Cote’s only chance is to confuse Silva, maybe become a counterstriker and pray that he can catch him somehow and rock him. I’m a BIG Silva fan, but I’d really like to see Cote make a fight out of this..so we can see what Silva’s made of. What’s Cote’s gameplan?
by MXN on Aug 12, 2008 10:08 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
if he goes to the forth I will be happy, I just want him to have a good showing, I know his chances of catching silva are there , but they are next to non- existan. But ther eis a chance and he is like fitch…Durable, Iron chin and a good hand. THats all that needed on any given night.
by Ro-J on Aug 12, 2008 11:16 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
not a good matchup..but then who else can you put against Silva at this time for title contention..one of those ppvs where one has to think whether to purchase or save for the next..

Cote probably won’t win but he will last longer than Irvin. You don’t throw a telegraphed body kick to a guy with his back against the cage, especially Silva. I’d like to see Silva vs Liddel.

Actually, Irvin isn’t that great, he hits hard but has displayed some pretty sloppy striking in some of his fights. I bet Cote would beat him, actually. I also bet he’ll last at least a couple of rounds with Silva.

Cote won’t make it out of the first. Diego will bring Alves back down to earth and finish him in the second. That’s it in a nutshell.

Patrick Cote is over rated. Anderson Silva is on another planet right now,…but there has to be a better match up. Sanches and Alves,…great recipe for a war. I’m a huge Diego fan,…but Thiago,…he’ll win this fight with a TKO in the 2nd round.

i think cote might have the best chance out of anybody in the middleweight division to beat anderson. Cote has heavy heavy hands and a granite chin he has pretty technical stand up and decent wrestling. I think cote is going to provide more of a challenge then many think, this fight is going to last three minutes then cote is going to get overwhelmed and put on queer street before being finished by the best pound for pound fighter in the world
by matt on Aug 12, 2008 12:21 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I don’t give Cote, you know…the same guy who did NOT win TUF…, a chance at all to win this fight. Kinda feel bad for him. Hmmmm…wonder if Silva will even break a sweat. He’ll probably get more action in his pre-fight warm-up. This fight is of so little interest to me it’s just…just….boring. I’m more excited to see Diego vs. Thiago.

man o man ones more anderson has to fight someone that he should not be fighting every one nos how the fight is going to turn his head is on so good its crazy even tho he knows hes going to win he still doe not man the man a underdog BUT HES GOING TO TKO HIM IN FIRST round 100 dollers on it

upsets can happen just ask manny gamburien. although silva will be more prepared. cote has somewhere around NO CHANCE of winning this fight. If you ever want to know what a cleared out division looks like, well this is it. this is an absolute disgrace that cote is getting a title shot. i would put bisping ahead of him. However i will be watching as cote becomes the latest addition to andersons highlight reel.
And I cant wait to see diego vs. thiago that should be a war, to bad the winner may have to take on GSP.

The only way Cote could win this fight is if it was in Canada… outdoors… in -30 degree weather… and badASS (Anderson Spider Silva) froze first because Cote has more body fat. Then Cote could knock him out a la SubZero from Mortal Kombat.
