I’ll call this one purely on his Scottish roots, McDonald :)

God, I just hate hearing from “the talented fairy”. He makes me laugh because he is always trying to hype up his fights by talking a little smack, but it just sounds funny coming from a weirdo like him and it rarely hypes up anybody!
This fight is no secret, Maia is going to choke him out! I am however looking forward to this fight because I think that Maia’s Jits is just beautiful!
I also want to see if Maia’s stand up is improving!

I can’t wait to see Maia either. He’s a killer and I think he’ll control this fight from start to finish. I don’t give MacDonald much of a chance at all.

I do give the Talented Fairy some what of a chance, simply because I dont know exaclt what kind of stand up he possesses. Then again, J-mac wont KO anybody, so it probably wont make much of a difference. Only way that the talented fairy wins fights is by submission, and I am willing to bet my left nut that he cant submit Maia!
I would love to see a fight between a any combination of these fighters:
Palhares
Maia
Leites
I love mma, but I also enjoy seeing how top ju jitsu fighter’s jits measure up against other top jits guys!

Talented Fairy — that makes me laugh. Still, he has a very solid ground game, not as good as Maia, but still good. And he has some decent stand-up where he should be better than Maia. I think Maia wins, but I don’t think he’s going to just walk through Talented Fairy.

No he wont walk right through him because, like I said, the Fairy is talented. HIs ground game is his bread and butter which puts him at a big disadvantage in this match up because he wont submit Maia. HIs advantage comes in the stand up, but he lacks power so I doubt he can finish it standing.
I would say J-mac’s best chance of winning this fight is by decision but I am not sure he can keep himself from being submitted for 15 minutes.

Typical pre-fight talk from both… I hope MacDonald wins but my money has to go on Maia.

A month back when I placed a parlay bet, I got Maia at -200. If I could stil get him at those odds, I’d be betting hard on him straight up right now. When I saw those odds, and Manny at -280, I just had to jump on them in parlay form.

Off TOpic but very important!
My heart and prayers go out to Jorge Rivera and his family. HIs teenage Daughter passed away. out of respect for the family how she passed away has not been reported. Everyone say a prayer for the man and his family!

I used to not like McDonald at all, but it’s fun to watch that guy fight. I’m actually pretty fired up for this one. I think it’s a real tough test for Maia. I kind of want to put some cheese down on Mac, but I’m scurred of Maia’s jits.
How sick would this card have been had Guida vs. Danzig not been moved to UFN 15? Not that it isn’t sickening anyway…

Maia is a beast, I think he takes it 2nd round by some sort of choke.

I hope Maia submits him the same way he did Herman.

Maia/Herman tops my sacred list of brutal finishes that scarred my brain along with… Penn/Uno, Wand/Jardine/kondo, AS/Franklin(both), Chuck/overeem, Shogun/Arona, Tito/tanner/shamrock, Gomi/Azeredo, Gonzaga/Crocop, Serra/GSP, swick/UFN guys, Leben/TUF finale guy, and others.

I believe Maia is too one dimensional, too old school , like ufc 1 through 15. I wouldnt be surprised if j mac got a sub….j macs subs are unique, look at what he did to the crippler.. and i mean he doesnt tap either , doerkson had his arm cranked bad and he didnt tap… i mean weve all seen blue belts submit black belts before. you cant not like j mac ..win or lose he alamost always never goes the distance.
