Some of the odds are interesting. I like all of these fights so I will probably bet on each one of them…

I like the look of Emerson, Always a big chance that Manny will pop his shoulder out going for a take down, An emersons got a decent sprawl and scramble.

how is 15k to win 18.5 on lesner? lesner’s the favorite

by kevin doesn't know shit on Aug 4, 2008 2:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

15,000 on lesner would win you 6500 with current odds! who is your book to be having lesner as the dog? I could check all the bets, but thats the obvious one, but as usual, I give you the benefit of the doubt stinky!

by kevin doesn't know shit on Aug 4, 2008 2:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

my book keep has lesnar as the underdog. what can i say?

i dont bet on the net. never have. never will.

i got three book keeps that i currently bet through.

2 of the three have lesnar as the dog[like it should be]

check the rest- u will find all my bets dont add up to these odds.

thats why i write what i will get[cause its different]

by ~stinky~fingers~ on Aug 4, 2008 3:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lol okay everyone bet the opposite of stinky.. he has a terrible track record since i’ve been watching.. I wouldn’t go against GSP though.

10K on rob emerson? Are you kidding? Manny would have won the Tuf show and emerson had two shots and couldn’t beat anyone….why is emerson in the UFC??

plus you have 25G’s on huerta.. then he is in both your parlays of 15 and 25G’s…. not very smart… 36% of your bets on an underdog.. If he doesn’t win you’re more screwed than if GSP doesn’t win (your big bet).. I don’t think you know how to bet and I don’t think your book keep, if he is real, knows how to post odds…

manny and kenny will both win and you’ll lose again

by Kory on Aug 4, 2008 3:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Man, I would have to say Jason MacDonald is a really nice sleeper bet. If i was a betting man, i’d lay a couple hundred on him.

by Open24hrz on Aug 4, 2008 1:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I was thinking the same thing even though i got maia. I was hoping it would have been the reverse though. I bet you quite a few people cashed in nicely on maia against herman.

by NameNotRequired on Aug 4, 2008 1:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I thought exactly th esame thing man. Since it’s my first time betting, I only put 50 bucks on him, but I’m pretty certain he’ll pull the upset

by Don on Aug 4, 2008 10:27 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

duh, lesnar is gonna rock his world. Washed up Heath.

by Dr. MMA on Aug 5, 2008 3:31 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

of course he is the dog, he is going to lose KO first round. Lock it up!

I agree adam, i’ll put alot of money on his experience alone!!

I may have two risky bets but I really like Fitch with these odds and Herring too

by Arnold on Aug 4, 2008 12:45 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I want GSP to win but the odds against Fitch look way inflated, makes me really wanna put something on Fitch and root against GSP lol. Damn money is evil..

Stinky Fingers – Can you let me know what your betting on so I can back the complete opposite. Show me the money…

On another note – I like Huerta over Florian.

by Billy Boy on Aug 4, 2008 12:39 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

stinky has been MIA for a week now!!

by kevin doesn't know shit on Aug 4, 2008 12:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, I always get a kick out of seeing his ludicrous ‘bets.’ He reminds me of the movie “Shattered Glass” but instead of being a journalist that makes things up he’s a ‘professional gambler.’

by the_mexicutioner on Aug 4, 2008 2:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

by the way for all you guys who don’t gamble, Brock is a favorite because the book makers want equal betting. the oddsmakers don’t care about who wins, the odds are based on getting equal bets sothat they make money off the vig! Pay off bets with opposite bets and keep 10% of all losing bets. With Brocks popularity, they are expecting lots of lesner picks.
Florian=lock!!

by kevin doesn't know shit on Aug 4, 2008 12:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Winners:
GSP
Lesnar

lol! are you disagreeing with him though john?

by b.w. on Aug 4, 2008 1:41 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

So far I have only placed one bet on this event so far. I did so about 3 weeks ago. I got a 3 man parlay on GSP, Maia, Manny. I got Maia at only -200 and Manny at -280, so it isn’t paying out as good now.

I see Manny as an absolute lock to win. He will take Emerson down ;and subit him. HOWEVER, Manny’s shoulder is always a big question going into his fights, which worries me. One wrong movement and the fight is over.

Not only is the Florian/Huerta fight very intersting and hard to pick, as we’ve been discussing since it was first announced, but also the Lesnar/Herring fight is very interesting as well. Lesnar is not a guaranteed win, not by any means. However, if the same Heath Herring shows up that did against Jake “The Irish Blue Balls” O’Brien, then he is going to get finished with a quickness.

As I’ve been saying for a while now, the odds need to change for me to bet on the Florian/Huerta fight. I like Huerta at +150 or Florian at about -110. I highly doubt that the odds will swing that drastically in either direction, so I doubt I’ll be betting on this fight unless something else changes between now and then. Instead, I will just sit back and enjoy the fight, rooting for KenFlo as a fan, not a gambler.

I loved Demian Maia at -200 but he instantly went to -300 which is a big difference.

For Fitch/GSP, alot of you readers would be intrigued to hear that GSP is on my parlay. I’m not a fan of him, and I love to hate on him for many reasons, but he is better than Fitch at every aspect of the game except for mental toughness. I am rooting for the fight to go into the championship rounds, 4 and 5. I am thiking that the odds to this fight will change between now and fight night. If Fitch reaches +300, I will make a small bet on him. If GSP goes down to maybe like -250, I may wager on him.

I will probably put an underdog parlay together including Heath Herring and Roger Huerta or Fitch, along with a pretty strong favorite. It would pay out pretty nicely.

What do you gamblers think?? WHO DO YOU GOT???

by ViolentMike on Aug 4, 2008 2:00 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

im not a gambler VM, but i do agree that picking the winner of huerta/florian and the winner of lesnar/herring is going out on limb a little bit either way. i hope your wrong about manny, but fell that you are right. and you are a smart man by betting on gsp imo. like him or not he is the goods.

by b.w. on Aug 4, 2008 2:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

V.M., what site do you bet on? And how do parlay payouts work? So just for simplicity reasons say I bet $100 on a GSP, Florian, and Maia parlay – what type of pay out would I be looking at?

by WB on Aug 4, 2008 2:15 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

y the F did Maia have to go up to 300? Damn it!

by john on Aug 4, 2008 6:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Just to elaborate: The odds are only a reflection of what the book thinks the public thinks.

If you can figure out where the public is wrong and bet the other way you can make some money.

Maybe next time we should just keep quiet about our opinions and just place our bets on the sure winners. Or we could also do some reverse psychology on ’em, hehe!!

by TheNegation on Aug 4, 2008 3:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

not how it works negation, money changes the line, not opinions

by kevin doesn't know shit on Aug 4, 2008 3:21 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Manny Gamburyan over Emerson looks like as close to a sure thing as you can get… Emerson should really not be in the UFC.. maybe he could be in the WEC…maybe

by Kory on Aug 4, 2008 1:41 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

herring should be a good bet…

by mr.rice-a-roni on Aug 4, 2008 1:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Herring, Florian and MacDonald all look like real good bets to me… MacDonald especially, I think he’ll be too strong for Maia to pull any submissions on

by RUSH on Aug 4, 2008 1:54 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That’s exactly what I was thinkin’ of. That’s the reason why I had[or still have] a hard time callin’ the MacDonald-Maia fight.

by TheNegation on Aug 4, 2008 3:14 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

For Barncat vs Luke, if the odds have either of them at +150 or better, I’ll be taking the Dog!

by ViolentMike on Aug 4, 2008 2:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

WOW! Should of put 50 bucks down on Herring and thank the WWE r-tards for the extra spending money next week.

by Diesel Power on Aug 4, 2008 2:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Now is a nice time to bet on the underdogs. All of ‘em actually look like sleepers. Especially the MacDonald and Huerta fights. I don’t like the fact though that Brock’s -230! Man how am I supposed to make some money on that?!?

by TheNegation on Aug 4, 2008 3:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I like Herring to take Lesnar as the dog and also Huerta, who seems to bring it every time. Though Huerta had to dig pretty deep to get Guida. And of course GSP, for right now is a sure thing. Maybe one day Fitch will be able to give him a fight, but not yet.

by dave on Aug 4, 2008 5:54 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Im betting a 6 pack on fitch!!!!!!!

by day1er on Aug 4, 2008 7:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I dont really think any of the fights on here are safe bets, stay away… GSP seems like the only logical bet for me
