i cant wait for sunday night! 3 title fights! more free mma! and the wec has proven that it can produce a great night of fights with great announcing and very good production. im looking forward for condit to prove he’s definetly a top 10 ww, and for stann to prove that he could be a legit 205 in the ufc. most rumors have that the ww’s and the lhw’s will be moving to the ufc before long.

Kampman vs. Marquardt will happen, but at UFC 89 instead of UFC 88….This sucks because it will push a fight I really wanted to see trelevised off of the main card, Akahiro Gono (1 of my favorite fighters) vs. Hardy (another British Stud).
I would have rather seen it complete the UFC 88 main card, because it would have been trhe best fight of the entire UFC 88 card. At least this fight is happening, but I would have really prefered that it take place at 88 instead of 89!

This is really tragic and terrible news. Rampage is a great guy deep down, this news may really mess his head up!
My prayers go out to the woman and her family, along with Rampage and his! Just a terible situation!

They dont know if was a result of the sideswipe yet. But if it was, I have no sympathy for Rampage what so ever. He was trying to evade the police and didn’t have any regard for anyone he could have ran over and killed. He was too worried about getting away from the cops. There is no real difference between him evading the cops and hitting cars and endangering peoples lives than any of these guys you see on these high speed chases on the news, or these other high profile people that get busted for DUI and shit. I know he wasn’t under the influence but that doesn’t make it any better, bad mental state or not. As a father of a 16 month old daughter, if the couple losing their child turns out to be a result of the accident, I hope they sue the shit out of him.

JOHN. ON THE KAMPANN/MARQUARDT FIGHT. agreed! 88 made much more sense than 89. 88 is a little weak and that fight really would have improved it.

This should be a good card. I think the Stann and Condit matches seem a little lop-sided, but the Varner/Hicks fight should be awesome.

The WEC is an exciting organization. IMO they do not get their due. They are certainly more worthy of coverage than EliteXC. They’ve got Faber and Torres (both in the top 10 of most P4P lists), Paulo Filho (ranked as #2 middleweight in Fight! magazine and who btw needs to return to form), Condit (rated 7th in Fight! magazine for welterweights), Brian Stann, Jamie Varner and Jens Pulver. Furthermore, I really like Frank Mir’s commentary. His enthusiasm for the sport and his analytical mind is quite prevalent.

That fight with Condit was stopped too fast. It was a good fight and could have went either way, but it seemed to me that the ref favored Condit. He even praised Condit on his knee near the end…BS….

I agree. Whenever Condit was in trouble, the ref seemed to be looking for ways to save him.
But when Miura was down, he didn’t do anything to stop Condit.
REF WAS FULL OF SH*T

It was not stopped too fast. Miura was completely unable to defend himself any longer and was completely out as shown at the end of the fight. And refs enjoy the sport just as much as the players and enjoy a good fight, so a compliment like that does not prove any biased calls.

Man i think that the ref was a lil 1 sided, every time Hiromitsu Miura was on top he was like make some moves or he was going to seperate them and actually did sometimes.
