And my man Nick now has $60K to spend on weed! Time to relax after a gruelling regimen of training for Denny.

OFF TO WORK, BUT CAESAR GRACIE GUYS ARE MAKING OK MONEY, WHY GO TO UFC UNLESS THEY WILL BE GUARANTEED MORE!! GOT TO THINK OF A GOOD TOPIC TOMORROW, And John, how much to rent your place? my wife has been bugging me to go to hawaii, but that looks really nice!

THanks. Figure out how long and how much u want to spend and I got you! As for pocket money on the trip, you couldnt find a cheaper country to be in.
Surprised to see these pay figures. U r right about the Ceaser Gracie camp. They making more there than they probably would in the uFC.
Do u think Bigfoot is their highest paid fighter? Frank Shammy is probably up there.

I thought Frank was with Strikeforce. I am pretty sure, but at this point I can’t really figure out the difference between XC and Strikeforce.

Frank Shamrock is in Strikeforce (as is Cung Le).

For competition, if your a top guy, and you want to prove
but, If it’s only a pay checque then ya, especially when your getting throw soft balls like that.
That’s one thing I can’t take away from the UFC, most fights are competitive and well planned.
ELITEXC and Affliction seem to just throw together lopsided fights with no real thought.

by kris on Jul 30, 2008 7:40 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
off sub but whos wanderlei silva fight everyone else has matchups in 205
by kris on Jul 30, 2008 7:41 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Why don’t you ask this in the Rampage vs Wanderlei thread?
I saw some guys there talking about him.
by J on Jul 30, 2008 7:55 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Mania linked a SI article yesterday that said the UFC was interested in a November match-up agaisn’t Wanderlei. If you ask me that is a horrible match up for him considering the recent events that have taken place in his life. I guess the UFC is all about sink or swim regardless of personal issues.

So sorry… November match-up agaisn’t Rampage!

why pay BigFoot that much if he’s not even on the main card?
by steak_knife on Jul 30, 2008 7:53 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Because he is probably the most talented fighter they have. If they would like to be a legitimate organization they need to pay fighters of his caliber that way.
by BNF on Jul 30, 2008 8:16 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He’s on a Showtime contract not a CBS one, so he was the main event on Showtime.

few of them got low pay but just like in boxing the prelims dont draw the cash and therefore arent well paid
to fight for what appear to be small amounts is completely their choice
only suprises in pay to me are scott smith thought hed command a bit more
and antonio silva what a waste of money should be able to get a far better fighter that the ufc dont want than him
id of thought hed be on 20 k to show 20 k to win
no one else would offer him anything close to the 200k they threw at him
by slickric on Jul 30, 2008 8:05 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Silva was definitely not worth the $200K in my opinion. I mean he didnt even look that good against Eilers, he just looked MUCH BIGGER than him.
by RUSH on Jul 30, 2008 8:38 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
how can you guys say that’s good? one guy made more then 100k and there middleweight champ makes 90? and diaz makes 60? ufc guys get paid more then that, and ufc gives a sweet bonus for KO,sub, and fight of the night, they also give them cool things as tito ortiz has stated gsp got a hummer, tito and shamrock both got camaros cmon no comparison in pay except for bigfoot

Shields is making a lot less than even Koschek. In retrospect I believe that he made a strategic error in tying himself to EliteXC.
by Muscle Dolphin on Jul 30, 2008 8:58 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Again Wandi Vs Anderson at 205 would be kick ass
by DBG on Jul 30, 2008 9:01 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I would be pissed if i was scott smith and his pay being the headline fight
by DBG on Jul 30, 2008 10:01 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Muscle Dolphin, Shields didn’t only make an error in signing with EliteXC. He made the BIGGEST mistake of his career. There’s no competition for him other than Drew Fickett and Paul Daley (Jay Hieron would be good if he signs). Nick Diaz is focused on KJ Noons, so Shields will run out of opponents very shortly. To be honest, UFC doesn’t need him at this point, so he must be regreting it right now

You know what it seems to me that everybody now is realizing how they were taking the UFC for granted.
Before I would hear so much smack talk on the fights the ufc put together, their production, and everything. Now that SOO freakin many other organizations are trying to compete, people can really see how could UFC is.

Big Foot should look into Affliction. They love to burn money they aren’t making and would pay him twice that amount.

Anyone know what Kimbo and Gina Carano made in there last fight?
