Elite XC weigh-in results for 'Unfinished Business' on CBS

EliteXC unfinished business
The official weigh-in results are in for Elite XC: "Unfinished Business," and everything appears to have gone smoothly. All 22 fighters made weight and been medically cleared by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) to compete.

Some folks were interested to see if Nick Diaz would make the cut to 160 pounds successfully for this fight because he missed the lightweight limit for his fight against Muhsin Corbbrey in June by nine pounds.

He didn't appear to have a problem with the cut this time around.

Here are the official results:

185 lbs.: Elite XC Middleweight Champion "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler (184.5) vs Scott "Hands of Steel" Smith (185)
170 lbs.: Jake Shields (169.5) vs Nick "The Goat" Thompson (169.5) for vacant Elite XC welterweight championship
160 lbs.: Nick Diaz (159.5) vs Thomas "Wildman" Denny (159)
140 lbs.: Shayna Baszler (139) vs Cristiane "Cris" Cyborg (140)
265 lbs.: Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (257.5) vs Justin Eilers (218) for vacant Elite XC heavyweight championship
140 lbs.: Wilson Reis (139.5) vs Brian Caraway (140.5)
205 lbs.: Rafael Feijao (203.5) vs Travis Galbraith (202)
160 lbs.: Marlon Mathias (161) vs. David Douglas (157)
205 lbs.: Jeremy Freitag (205) vs. Anthony Ruiz (206)
265 lbs.: Mike Cook (232.5) vs. Carl Seumantafa (255.5)
265 lbs.: Brandon Tarn (252) vs. Drew Montgomery (224)

*Note: Fighters are allowed to weigh one pound more than the division limit in non-title fights.

Remember that MMAmania.com will also provide LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the main card action on fight night, which is slated to air tomorrow night (Saturday, July 26) from the Stockton Arena in Stockton, Calif., on Showtime beginning at 8 p.m. ET and on CBS beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

LMAO!!! He is going into this fight against bigfoot only weighing 216 lbs? He is going to get destroyed by Bigfoot!

I didnt know eilers was that light, he should just cut down to 205 lbs…He has no business fighting a very skilled 257 lbs man like Bigfoot! Bigfoot via DESTRUCTION!

by john on Jul 25, 2008 7:32 PM EDT up reply actions

i’m not saying he is good but he has won 11 of his last 12 fights only losing a decision to rizzo and has stopped every fight but one by submission or tko.so he deserves to move back up but i agree he will lose, and he was alot bigger but he is in better shape now at 216

by roy on Jul 25, 2008 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions

sad thing is, bigfoot is pretty average at best. at least if I go by his last couple performances!

by kevin doesn't know shit on Jul 25, 2008 8:18 PM EDT up reply actions

He is far from average….His problem is inconsistency.

After this fight Eilers should consider cutting to 205 lbs. He may find success at LHW…who knows?

Eilers weighed 228 at UFC 53 when he fought Arlovski for the interim HW title

Lots of great fights on this card.

Shields vs Thompson is my vote for fight of the night though.

by DirtyML on Jul 25, 2008 8:03 PM EDT reply actions

Wildman must be pissed that Diaz made weight lol. Now he is guaranteed a beating.

Oh ho… I can’t believe Eilers is so little. I hope bigfoot doesn’t step on him.

hey john, you always have very interesting opinions on mma. how do you think the thompson/shields fight will go and who will win?

on mmaplayground [i bet fantasy since im only 18] im putting a medium sized wager on the goat to win. odds are very good and dont really do him justice, as many people are saying.

The Hannah Montana 3-D special on the Disney Channel will have higher ratings.

Damn people, you all will whine about anything, it’s mma, there’s no crying in mma

Gary Shaw is such a fat, greasy tub of shit.

I mean come on, there are three guys in that photo and six chins, four of which are on fatty.

Guy probably hasn’t seen his dick in decades.

It is too bad that we have to watch Lawler vs. Smith for the main event again. Lawler dominated Smith during the last fight and I expect that he will do so in this fight as well. It just doesn’t seem exciting to watch them again.

After Bigfoot beats Eilers, I wonder if Kimbo will challenge Bigfoot for the tile:-)
