Huerta has said publicly he considers this an easy fight… I kinda feel sorry for the guy.

by GasManShad on Jul 21, 2008 11:30 PM EDT reply actions

i’m mexican and i’ve picked huerta to win everyother fight but florian is no joke…

florian by stoppage 2nd rd!

by mikeybear on Jul 21, 2008 11:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Florian looks like the guy most of us picked on in high school. I don’t know about you guys, but I’d WAY rather fight a huge guy talking trash than a little guy who makes whipping your @ss sound like another day on the job. Florian will beat Huerta like he owed him serious cash!

I cant wait to see Ben Saunders fight! That kid is going to be a stud!

Huerta you’re dead

by crowls on Jul 22, 2008 11:48 AM EDT up reply actions

huerta is 1 of my fav fighters just because of how relentless and dominating he his against his opponents and he can finish fights which makes him exciting

ken flo is also very good but i’m backing huerta for this 1 by TKO 3rd round or unanimous decision. then after he wins this fight which i’m confident he will ppl should stop saying he gets fed cans and cant cut it at top level because he can!

win or lose it’ll be a close fight and i cant wait!! i love these sort of LW fights were both fighters are well rounded

mark my words!!!
huerta -W
GSP – W

Sorry to change th subject, but last night showtime re-aired the Renzo vs. Shamrock event. I never watched that event (I saw the main event on the computer).

I never saw how krazy Hoarse knocked out KJ “the nancy boy” Noons….that KO was bad ass

I also never saw how Bigfoot Ko’ed Cabbage! That flying knee was very impressive coming from a 300 lb man!

by john on Jul 22, 2008 12:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Where did he say that?

by DSmith on Jul 22, 2008 12:12 AM EDT up reply actions

he said it in the in depth video they have made 4 that event. he claims it will be a ‘cake walk’

huerta will win but it wont be easy

by ufcaddict on Jul 22, 2008 12:48 PM EDT up reply actions

I guess fight hype is in full effect

I am expecting to see the best Roger Huerta that we have ever seen. He showed me a whole lot in his comeback win over Guida!
This kid has some serious mental strength and he basically willed his way to win over Clay. Seeing his facial expression at the beginning of the 3rd round, I knew that Roger would not allow himself to loose that fight (PhilQny, we talked about this extensively ion Saturday). Training with GSP and the rest of Greg Jackson camp, should really help take Huerta’s game to the next level.

Huerta with the upset over a very tough, skill and GAME kenny Florian! (not my final pick, I will probably change my mind 5 times about this fight from now to August 9th)

by john on Jul 22, 2008 10:11 AM EDT up reply actions

heurta is training with greg jacksons camp??? when did that happen….

he has a serious camp 1 day some of his fighters will have 2 fight against each other its getting that big

by ufcaddict on Jul 22, 2008 12:51 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m a Huerta fan, but common who would you rather have fight for the belt, KenFlo or Huerta? KenFlo already had his chance, Huerta is an up and coming star I hope he wins it’ll be better for the sport ;)

by MikeD on Jul 22, 2008 11:21 AM EDT up reply actions

kenflo had his chance against a huge dominant wrestler, which will always be his toughest fight, i see him giving bj a much better fight, i only wish kenny was a few years further into his career. this guy has improved as fast as anyone else in the sport. he’s got technique for days, just wish he had some more power in his hands…. all the huerta guys..how do u see him winning b/c the only way i see that happening is by decision, pretty sure kenny hasn’t ever been knocked out with that huge chin he’s got and i think he’ll control the ground game.

disclaimer: kenflo grew up 2 towns away from me so it’s a homer pick

by crowls on Jul 22, 2008 11:52 AM EDT up reply actions

How can u miss these picks?

GSP wins
Brock wins
Kenny wins

no brainer.

by THORAZINE on Jul 22, 2008 4:28 PM EDT up reply actions

GSP
Lesnar
Huerta

by the_mexicutioner on Jul 21, 2008 11:30 PM EDT reply actions

i have the same picks as you do. since roger is training with GSP he could get that extra edge he needs to defeat florian.

huerta keeps on improving and if he still does now that he trains with the greg jackson camp he could be better than kenny.

by weoweoweo on Jul 22, 2008 12:23 AM EDT up reply actions

Your spelling sucks but I have the same picks as you do.

GSP via decision
Florian via 3rd round TKO
Herring via 2nd round TKO

by muaythai_jitsu on Jul 22, 2008 8:48 AM EDT up reply actions

Huerta’s gonna get cut open by ken flo. GSP do your thing.. Tough fight for GSP, but I see him winning in the 2nd round via GNP. I hate Lesnar, he should go join the circus! WAR GSP!

well your spelling doesn’t look that educated. haha. peace. :D

by weoweoweo on Jul 22, 2008 12:18 AM EDT up reply actions

Ah yes, “the texas crazy hoarse”. Aptly nicknamed due to his excessive yelling that leaves him with ridiculously damaged vocal chords.

A bit of subject but what about WEC 36:
Champ Urijah Faber vs. Mike Brown (for featherweight title)
Champ Paulo Filho vs. Chael Sonnen (for middleweight title)
Leonard Garcia vs. Jens Pulver
Donald Cerrone vs. Rob McCullough
Jake Rosholt vs Danillo Villefort
Mark Munoz vs. Steve Steinbeiss
Johny Hendricks vs. Alex Serdyukov

Urijah always good to watch
Paulo and Chael 2 enough said
Leonard, Jens all out brawl
Jake Rosholt next best thing
Mark Munoz Urijah’s boy
Alex Serdyukov didnt he demolish somebody in his first fight

by hk on Jul 22, 2008 12:03 AM EDT reply actions

i actually wanna watch this card. mark munoz, urijah, filho sonnen2, plus jens = solid card. better than the sh!t thats coming out of proelite.

oh mania. i read that the alves and sanchez co-main event for ufc89 was moved to oct 25 at ufc 90 in chicago instead, and they bumped up the machida-thiago fight as the co-mainevent for 89.

it couldve been one really stacked card if it havnt been moved though. but its still a decent card. i cant wait for machida VS thiago. hopefully the winner gets a title shot. but i guess that could only happen if chuck loses. haha.

by weoweoweo on Jul 22, 2008 12:34 AM EDT reply actions

got money on….

1) GSP
2) BROCK LESNAR
and..
3) ROGER HUERTA

chee hee!!! i’ll be expecting some “greens” very soon!

by boardRIDER on Jul 22, 2008 1:41 AM EDT reply actions

you gotta take gamburyan too. Emerson is crap that is the easiest win on the card

by Kory on Jul 22, 2008 8:37 AM EDT up reply actions

ken flo is gonna take this one, much more rounded fighter

by brendan on Jul 22, 2008 1:46 AM EDT reply actions

no he isnt.. Rogers wrestling is better he’s physically stronger, he’s got better hands than kenny, great submission defense, better chin, and finally he’s mexican! .. but Kenny could still win because he fights very smart and he’s got the experience

by RoB on Jul 22, 2008 5:22 AM EDT up reply actions

What the hell does being a mexican have to do with anything? Besides, isn’t Kenny mostly latino anyway? All except the name.

by PJJ on Jul 22, 2008 10:37 AM EDT up reply actions

It’s got do everything to do with it, la RAZA!!

by MikeD on Jul 22, 2008 11:06 AM EDT up reply actions

PJJ, he has a Peruvian background.

by chris on Jul 22, 2008 11:34 AM EDT up reply actions

You got to remember before Roger was training with just 2 people- Dave Menne and his conditioning coach. But for the past 4 months he has been working with Phil Nurse, GSP and his conditioning coach, Nate Marquart and his boxing coach, Denis Kang and now he is in New Mexico at Greg Jackson’s with Nate, GSP, Rashad, Keith and all of the other resources at that camp (that second to none game planning). I am really interested in seeing what the improvements or changes have been made in his fighting. Given the circumstances- it’ll be a lot harder for Kenny to prepare for this “new” Roger than the other way around. It’s going to be a great brawl either way and I can’t wait.

GSP
Herring
Huerta

by DSmith on Jul 22, 2008 12:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Man I cannot wait for this ppv. It’s going to be one hell of a night!!

by LiFt on Jul 22, 2008 3:42 AM EDT reply actions

The only bet I’m placing is on Fitch… I just hope the odds keep GSP as the “sure win”.

by Arnold on Jul 22, 2008 8:26 AM EDT reply actions

fitch is a boring fighter. he has the skills to be a contender, but he’s not on the same level as gsp i dont think he stands a chance to win.
(well there’s always a serra-like miracle right? but i dont think it’ll happen)
just my opinion. peace. :)

by weoweoweo on Jul 22, 2008 8:50 AM EDT up reply actions

Fitch is a technical fighter who only works hard enough to win. This can sometimes be boring, like the Wilson fight. But if you remember some of his other 8 wins in the UFC, he put together some exciting fights. When fitch wins it won’t be by a miracle, it will be by taking what little mistake GSP may make and capitalizing on it.

If GSP is flawless then I’ll be out some cash but that’s why betting on an underdog is risky…

by jalffds on Jul 22, 2008 9:55 AM EDT reply actions

Im a fan of both GSP & Fitch….but common at this point no one can go against GSP. And for the Huerta Florian fight i think that Huerta will pull this one out and get the next title shot. .
BEST CARD OF THE SUMMER!!

by Toad on Jul 22, 2008 10:30 AM EDT reply actions

Florian submission of the night Lesner knock out of the knight GSP & Fitch fight of the night.

Nice card. Their last couple of events were quite lackluster in terms of expectations. Hopefully this one will leave up to all its hype.
