Yeah Leben!! give that bloke a good solid run man. Let’s make this a stand up war! Man, was Day ever a disappointment. Let this be a lesson, one battle and win in the UFC doesn’t make you a hot shot. This is the league among leagues!!

What’s up with that back door nut grab at 2:01?

by c-war on Jul 18, 2008 1:57 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Cant wait to see him get ktfo by Bisping. Maybe he’s just got that chuck belly but he just doesn’t seem to be in shape to me…

by O damn he got caught on Jul 18, 2008 1:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

it’s the chuck belly. Some dudes, no matter how much they train just don’t have the genetic structure to dial it in abs wise. Meanwhile other dudes are crazy ripped without doing much of anything.

You gotta give props to Leben though for that Martin fight when he took that heavy shot, got rocked, and then came forward and ended it with the left. He then got up and stared with his arms out…remember that??

Awesome MMA right there!

I gotta disagree with you. I was always a thin kid growing up all through high school. Didnt have alot of muscle, but was cut and shredded ridiculously. Had the 6-8 pack going. Stopped lifting and basically being active at the of 21-22. Just drank for about 2 years. Put on alot of weight (about 40-60 lbs). Saw a chuck beer gut grow. Knew I had to get back to lifting. And I did. Turned that fat into muscle. But cannot seem to make that beer gut go away. I also cant seem to give up beer. But really I just drink like once every 2 weeks. Everyone’s metabolism slows down. Chuck has the protruding abs because of all the alcohol he drinks.

by Open24hrz on Jul 18, 2008 1:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Chuck gut is alcohol like buddy above said pure and simple.

It is hard for your body to lose that kind of fatty tissue. Those guys with “beer guts” are never going to get rid of them, ever.

They might fade away, but they will never be completely gone.

by DirtyML on Jul 18, 2008 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Not true. I had a beer gut, worse than chucks or any other brada I seen on the rock. Its all mental. If you want to lose it and you focus. You can. I dropped 6o pounds and Im sittin at a comfortable 185 195 never over never under, and I drink like a hillbilly biker lol its all a matter of if you can put your mind to it. Everyone’s different in everyway. We wont be able to help ourselves overcome these shetty sayings if we let them hold us back. Work hard, and and strive knowing that whatever we see as hard may be “Easier for others” but imagine how difficult it is for others.

by MIC on Aug 18, 2008 12:15 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

haha chuck sometimes has abs but there on top of his gut its just how hes built

by adam on Jul 18, 2008 1:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

haha so true, dudes got a funky looking midsection, but he can sure take a hit in that area. I have seen OLD OLD pics of him and he has ripped abs, I think alot of it is genetics, but lets not deny that alchohol and age = bigger gut

by Chadx23 on Jul 18, 2008 2:00 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

you cant have abs on TOP of your gut… everyone has abs, they are normally just covered with a layer of fat, his abs are behind all that fat not on top of it! lol

Yo..That girl with the yellow bandana..OMG..She’s beautiful. I have to go to Hawaii one day.

by PhilQNY on Jul 18, 2008 1:05 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Phil-

HI is fantastic. EVERYBODY should do themselves the favor of going there at least once.

Bisping v. Leben breakdown:

Bisping will work alot of angles and pick at Leben. Solid strikes which will try to chop Leben down. I see Bisping trying to throw in some kicks to keep Leben honest.

Leben will try to stay disciplined and methodically stalk Bisping. I think Leben will abandon this once he realizes how quick Bisping is… And here comes the Leben bombs. If Bisping engages then nighty-night.

Otherwise, I see Bisping taking a decision victory.

by OJR on Jul 18, 2008 1:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Good analysis… Bisbing will have to engage at some point. Leban will stalk him down and is more than willing to take a few shots on his melon head to land a few of his own, when he connects it will be nap time for Bisbing.

by BNF on Jul 18, 2008 1:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

What about the knee’s; Bisping has a better clinch game I think Leben’s liable to eat a few.

by O damn he got caught on Jul 18, 2008 2:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I am very much looking forward to their fight. I will be rooting for Bisping, but I dont know yet who I am picking, as for betting the fight, the only way I will bet on this fight is if either Leben or Bisping becomes an attractive enough underdog, then I will bet whoever is the Dog…if the odds are close or even, i wont touch this fight!

by john on Jul 18, 2008 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah but Bisping will have to eat a bunch of foot stomps, which in turn will cause him to say “ow you stomped my foot” and that’s about it.

by DonnyG on Jul 18, 2008 4:03 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

UFC has to end up in Hawaii for an event. Put BJ and GSP there as the main.

Shaka to that no doubt.

by tripleainto on Jul 18, 2008 1:09 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Wow.. GSP vs BJ Penn in Hilo…A valcano will erupt on the island.

icon defintion: One who is the object of great attention and devotion; an idol.
I dont see the correlation. He’s pretty good, but I dont think he is evolving into an icon.

yeah but he is a trainer at the Icon Gym in Hawaii.

Chris Leben reminds me of Gary Busey. That being said, I hope he break’s Bisbing face.

Leben Smash!!!

by DonnyG on Jul 18, 2008 4:03 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I liked Leben from day 1 of TUF. I’ve disliked Bisbing ever since he made fun of Matt Hamill in the TUF house. That said alot about his character in my eyes. Leben by murder.

by Mike on Jul 18, 2008 2:08 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I actualy disliked Leben from the start of TUF. Peeing on another guys bed, talking smack to a fighter he beat previously and just whining when Kos beat him. Looking at character I’d say Bisping is far above Leben(dont forget ducking his warrant until he HAD to get a Visa). To be honest though I dont like Bisping either hehe. But I wanna see him smash Leben. Should be a war.

by RiverHorror on Jul 18, 2008 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Huge Bisping fan but Leben comes across as a great guy with a lot of respect for Bisping. Going to be a great fight and not as easy as many Bisping fans think it will be.

by UKmmaBOY on Jul 18, 2008 2:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I dont really care who wins this fight. I just want to watch it go down. Gonna be some great action and I will give props to whoever wins it.

by NorthStar on Jul 18, 2008 2:32 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Never really liked this guy with his painted toenails and eye shadow that he wears…

by brendan on Jul 18, 2008 2:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, but he needs those to maintain his unconventional relationship with Eddie Murphy.

by PW on Jul 18, 2008 2:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

LEBEN R.I.P i hope Leben fights here again if he lives after this fight! because he will be a well liked fighter here but not against Bisping of course.

by Tony on Jul 18, 2008 2:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

is this free on Spike? thats the only way it should play out if Bisping vs. Leben is the main event.

by SpiderStyle on Jul 18, 2008 3:05 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Bisping is the second most overrated guy in mma after kimbo.

by LanceLegweak on Jul 18, 2008 3:08 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol. thats where i grew up back in my elementary school days.

by kama kaze on Jul 18, 2008 3:18 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Mike, you can’t not like the guy just cause he made fun of Hamill. His comments had NOTHING to do with the fact that Hamill was handicapped. He was saying Hamill was a dick, which at times he was. That being said, I like them both a lot and just would like to see a war.

by WB on Jul 18, 2008 3:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yea, it was my understanding from watching the show that Bisping’s problem with him was how he trained/sparred with the other fighters.

by O damn he got caught on Jul 18, 2008 3:53 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Oddly, both of them needed subtitles when they spoke.

Can’t wait for episode 2. And if you’re in Hawaii be sure to stop in at ICON Fitness center. Great facility, great people.

by DocMason on Jul 18, 2008 9:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Whatever you think of Leben….the vids are well done and interesting. I’ve got Leben by coma in the 2nd.

by Borocker on Jul 18, 2008 9:27 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Leben has grown up a TON… He’s found his place in life, I think this is what fans intially saw in Leban, behind his intial anitics n’ trash talking, there was a good guy lurking in there somewhere… good for him.

by THORAZINE on Jul 18, 2008 10:10 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol its really hard for me to take you seriously “thorazine” with a name like that

by brendan on Jul 18, 2008 11:02 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Most people don’t realize it’s an anti-psychotic medication, it occasionally gets some snickers on Poker Stars.
