This is a bit on the long side, but a nice refresher for those who have been following this tournament or plan to begin on July 21 when the semifinals and finals take place at the Osaka-jo Hall in Osaka, Japan:

This event wil be aamazing. alvarez is winnig the entire thing but he will be fighing aoi in the finals who happen to be a huge fan of. I have been saying for years that a pue grappling match between BJ/Aoki woud be amazing.
Mania, Get me an interview with my hometown fighter, Eddie alvarez!

U know, I am a HUGE fan of Japanese MMA! I just cant wait for this event to come soon enough!
DReam/Affliction/ and a free (B level) UFC event all in one weekend! I am going to have a tough time selling this to my girl!
I might have to hit my girl with: “Baby, u deserve a girls night out, have fun, go down the shore with your girlfriends for the weekend…U deserve it” lol………Immediately she will think I am trying to cheat on her and then I will tell her that there are 3 events in one weekend, and she will laugh at me, Understand, but call me pathetic……….But then I will be off the hook for the weekend and free to enjoy the best weekend of mma!

Jesus, with Affliction and UFC this weekend I forgot about Dream. I would love to see Uno KO Aoki. Should be a good card.

So much MMA my head is about to explode. It seems like almost every weekend and sometimes during the week there is something good on. Good for us…

Aoki is the favourite no doubt, but after that bull shit in the first round he shouldnt even be in the tournament. he lost that fight, he was hit between the neck and the shoulder, he was STOPPED. You didnt see Davis wanna stop the fight (Ramapage vs Hendo Spike TV fight) when he got kicked in the neck, he won VIA ARM BAR,
I dont know I just cant believe they set a re match, Im thinking Dream, the whole organization wants Aoki to win the is event.

Right so they gave him all of the hardest fights in the tournament. I mean he beat JZ and now he’s facing Uno and chances are if he beats Uno it’ll be Eddie in the Finals the same day. But yeah I see what you mean man totally stacked in Aoki’s favor
by Bic on Jul 14, 2008 5:03 PM EDT up reply actions
Hey man, Aoki is good, fack I think he is amazing, but JZ beat him, Im sorry, no one could change my mind. I think the fight should have been declared a JZ win, not a no decsion. I think Aoki will must likely win, but I will not be happy
Besides, I cant believe how many of these light weights are ranked sooo high up in the MMA rankings, BJ is number one, but from 2 to 6 its all Dream fighters, Im sorry but Ken Flo, and Huerta, and Nate would beat the hell out of some of these guys who ranked just above Sherk.

yea, i agree wit ur 1st paragraph. jz won the 1st fight. thats why i want anybody except Aoki to win. i mean, DREAM is the same org where you can knee the guy in the face while down, but yet his fight got stopped from a little elbow to the back, who knows where it really landed?, and all that faking and crying was BS. plus his pants are rainbow. he should be dq for that itself.

i know this might sound like a dumb question, but does anyone know if this event will be streamed live anywhere?
by b.w on Jul 14, 2008 5:21 PM EDT reply actions
hdnet will air it live and replay it the next day as well
by roy on Jul 14, 2008 5:56 PM EDT up reply actions
It was streamed during the last DREAM card, so I guess it will be the same for this one.

Im sorry Aoki pants are a little out of control but a gogoplata from the mount is AMAZING! I have never seen that until he pulled it off and I have been practicing BJJ for a couple years now.
I would love to see an Aoki vs Alverez final.
Jacare is sick as hell! His grappling match with Randy C. was such a defensive chess match…great stuff.
Im also excited to see Drysdale get up and running…tons of great prospects coming in the near future.

how did they show so much of JZ vs Aoki and not show the great guard jumping?
by aa on Jul 15, 2008 12:05 AM EDT reply actions
going to be an amazing end. Hopefully the new blood (Alvarez and Aoki) will make it to the finals. If one of them wins, I would put them over Gomi at the no.2 spot.
