Affliction weigh-in for 'Banned' set for Honda Center on July 18

The field of 22 fighters set to compete on the Affliction: "Banned" card will all tip the scales for the official weigh-in at the Honda Center (2695 E. Katella Ave.) in Anaheim, Calif., on Friday, July 18.
The "mega" event is FREE to attend and open to the public. Doors will open a 2 p.m. local time and the first fighter will drop his drawers around 3 p.m. PT. It will not air live online or on television.
"Banned" will take place the following day on Saturday, July 19, in the same location, airing on FOX Sports Net for FREE at 8 p.m. ET and then transitioning to pay-per-view (PPV) around 9 p.m. ET. MMAmania.com will provide up-to-the-minute coverage of the action throughout the afternoon and evening.
It's the first-ever event for the apparel company-turned mixed martial arts promotion ... and it's a doozy. In the main event of the evening, former champions Fedor Emelianenko against Tim Sylvia will tangle for the right to claim the inaugural WAMMA heavyweight title strap.
Other heavyweights in action include Josh Barnett, Pedro Rizzo, Andrei Arlovski, Ben Rothwell, Alexander Emelianenko, Paul Buentello and others.

“the first fighter will drop his drawers around 3 p.m. PT.” ROFL.. That’s the kind of subtle humor that I love.. Haha Jesse is good at that too.

Fedor disposes of Sylvia and then will do the same to Couture.. Too strong, great in the clinch, ground, better striker, etc etc… UFC may have the “best” fighters, but they dont have the best heavyweight.

not just the best heavyweight. the best p4p fighter. I’m so sick of the UFC saying that silva is the best p4p. he walks around at 215. when fedor fought in pride he was 224. enough said.

what? weight has what to do with p4p? do you not understand what pound for pound means? and the ufc isn’t the only peolpe calling anderson the pound for pound best fighter yo.

well and i’m not sure but i think fedor is only signed for a one fight deal with affliction. same with tim and rothwell. aa is under a multi fight deal but realy affliction doesn’t have the best fighters they just do for this card. i mean realy who knows what fedor does after this or for who. not sure what their deal with barnet is but i’d be surprise if he had a more than 1 fight contract. thats not to say these guys won’t be back but there are not contracts thats say they are bound to be.

Two Questions:
At some point earlier this year I thought I had heard and read that this was going to be free on HDnet, am I alone in that?
Secondly, I haven’t seen anyone else comment that this could end up being another boring sylvia fight?
I don’t expect Fedor to dominate Tim al la Hong Man Choi… and I can’t see Tim finishing Fedor with his hands, hopefully Tim decides to use his kicks again. Then again maybe that Mane’iac a is already gone. I see Fedor taking this fight similar to the way Couture beat Sylvia in 5 rounds, but with less boxing and more long range g n p with Fedor on top.
My prediction. Hope I am wrong.

this shit isnt even worth watching
ring fighting is a joke

I guess you never watched PRIDE.. The only thing that I don’t like about rings is when the referee has to restart the fight back in the middle of the ring. It allows the fighter on the bottom to think about what to do next, and it also throws off the momentum of the fight.

agree, but Tom said Affliction is going to use 5 ropes ring, while PRIDE had only 4… so the 5th rope on the bottom will prevent fighters fallin’ out of the ring, thus, maybe this time refs won’t have to restart the fights.

i don’t like the ring but to call this card crap i don’t get. oh wait maybe your just hating to hate. but there has been some great fights in in rings.

whats the deal with the buentello and alex fight? is that gonna be shown on pay per view or just fox sports?

the only way Tim to win this fight is to land a short right hand on Fedor’s chin, but aside from that fedor will beat him in anty kind of discipline
