look u all, i know everyone is in love with MR FEDOR…to be honest with u, i like the guy too, but damn hes still just a man—-not a machine…i think arlovski will be his toughest fight ever…look im gonna go out on a limb here, but im going with arlovski by decision…he’ll stuff fedors takedowns and his boxing honestly is superior…if he boxes fedor and stays away from those pinpoint haymakers fedor throws, he can definitely pull it out…long live the PITBULL

this guy is on crack if he thinks AA can go the distance with fedor

My picks are here
1.Fedor knocks out andrei ground and pound
2. Barnett heel hooks Gilbert yvel
3. dark green remmy sokojuko will knock out sobral
4. Cerrone will beat varner by submission
5 lindland will take Belfort
These are 500.00 dollar bets I made here in vegas except fedor odds were outrageous.
6.I grew up with Sean bormet one of andreis trainers sean is awesome wrestler and coach. But as far as fighting fedor and arlovski it will be a massacre. I say this because I know fighting. I myself can whoop ass too. I respect all you mma fighters immensely. and would like to see few replies thanks dan
by Dan Shanahan on Jan 24, 2009 3:55 PM EST up reply actions
You know… the guys who say they can whoop ass are usually those wanna-b’s that get their ass whooped… Most good fighters don’t admit they are “ass whoopers”
am I right?

ha ha, dats fo real, dan aint no fighter, he brags and wishes he was though, ha ha, good call derek, i bet your a fighter huh, only a real fighter would say something like that – DAN, your predictions are ametuerish, c’mon now, Barnett with a heel hook, if you knew what a heel hook really was and what level these fighters are on, that kind of prediction would only be best directed towards the heavy-weight division…..seriously, whens the last time someone lost to a heel hook that wasnt in the heavy weight division- and ground n’ pounding arlovski isnt as easy as you think- this is the pros dude- come up with better predictions- hardly n e one gets ground n pounded now days- id rather go with a stand up knock out- but i think arlovski has got what it takes- this fight is gonna be bad azz- no matter who wins, this fight will be so frikin tight that theres gonna be a rematch and maybe even a third to determine the best of the best
by boogabooga on Jan 24, 2009 8:04 PM EST up reply actions
well predicted, i would agree with you because i think AA is lighter on his feet which would make it harder for fedor to land his pin point punches like he does everyone else- but like you, id like fedor to win too

You don’t say?? Could that possibly be due to the fact that there are roughly 2-3 fighters in each weight class in this young promotion???

Affliction just needs a little time they already did what Dana couldn’t “FEDOR” oh yeah. The UFC better get their S_ _T together because great fights with great fighters are being created, not only here but Japan. They killed Pride but the energy lives on.

I’m not excited about this event. Fedor Arlovski is very interesting, but thats about it. I’m slightly interested in the Lauzon fight, and the Babalu/Soko, but thats pretty much it. Barnett is supposed to be a top heavyweight, and if Affliction has all or most of MMA’s best heavyweights, then why isn’t he fighting a better guy?? I don’t think he should be ranked so far up the ladder when he fights guys just barely breaking the top 15.
Anyways, point being, this card SUCKS! Of course, in my opinion.

Fedor is the “ONLY” fighter worth a crap here. This is a joke. The rest of these guys are washed up or just drunks that can’t maintane a workout regiment. Pay attention people. This company will fold within a year. We can only hope that Fedor will finally come to the UFC. I’m sick and tired of seeing him fight chumps. He’s waisting his prime years fighting has beens and freaks. You should all be outraged that we dont get to see the greatest fighter ever fight the best competition. FEDOR, WAKE UP! YOU AREN’T GETTING ANY YOUNGER.
by Burt Wright on Sep 5, 2008 11:04 PM EDT reply actions
There has to be another organization to compete with the UFC, there are to many new fighters coming up through the ranks and they all can’t fight in the UFC. If the UFC controlled all the fighters, they would only fight once or twice a year, we need another strong one to rise up and keep the UFC honest.
by bigmcmac on Sep 8, 2008 11:37 PM EDT up reply actions
I agree. However, I think the other leagues should build from the ground up. I don’t think the best fighters should be sacrificed just for the sake of democracy.
by Burt Wright on Sep 9, 2008 9:58 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah I agree, if UFC was the only MMA brand out there, and they monopolized it, they could control everything about this sport. Pay fighters less, treat them like crap, but hey who’s going to go against them? They could stop giving free fights or make PPV’s more expensive, but hey, who’s going to fight with them over it when they’re the only MMA out there. They could forcefeed you crap cards, and you’d have to watch them because if you wanted MMA they were the only ones who could supply it.

youre jokin right? arlovski and barnett are still great fighters. who does ufc have in there hw division? mir? thats an easy victory. gonzaga? terrible. lesnar? thats as big a joke as fedor fighting techno goliath or whatever hes called. big nog is the only fight worth watching, and hes not the man he used to be back in pride, still good, but not fedor good. and randy???? washed up, plain and simple. ufc has a terribly weak hw division. but they are good at promoting horrible fighters as being good (lesnar)

Did anyone read Fedor’s interview with ultimate grappling mag. How he said he would never sighn with the UFC after the garbage they threw @ him , they expected him to remaine undeffeted or they had the right to terminate his contract , no competing in his national sport of sombo , no indorsments , and he needed to win his first fight or that would be an automatic breach of contract and if he won it’s an automatic eight fight deal . UFC needs to do what is right for the sport and bring the best of the best fighter to the octagone not just bring them and exploit them !
by c-one on Nov 16, 2008 1:44 AM EST up reply actions
Thats the whole essence why Fedor will never sign with the UFC. They treat their fighters like shit and everyone but the fighter benefits in UFC. Besides why the hell would Fedor ever care to be under a no class piece of sheeeeit like Dana White ?? Did you hear or read all the desperate childish unprofessional shit Dana threw at Fedor ?? Its obvious his friends fronted him the money for the UFC because the man has no class at all and is less professional then a class of First graders. The fight Id like to see is Fedor and Dana the prick needs to learn respect.
by chad on Nov 17, 2008 3:25 PM EST reply actions
You got that right. The UFC treats their fighters like shit. They make millions in PPV sales, and only a drop or two ever reaches the fighters who are working their asses off and putting their health at risk. Maybe one of these days the fighters will start getting the same types of earnings of professional boxers. The best thing that could happen for the UFC is to get rid of Dana White, or at least give him responsibilities other than contract negotiations. What kind of crap is that to not allow fighters to sign endorsements???That’s total bull. Endorsements are where the money is, and that’s why White wants to control it. They treat fighters like they are their property and make it so that the fighters are totally dependent on the organization. I hope Affliction and Dream succeed, if only to improve the salaries of the fighters.
by mercydoc on Nov 25, 2008 2:06 AM EST up reply actions
Mercydog you obviously dont understand what a contract is, i wish everyone would stop looking at fighters like little kids. These are grown ass men signing their own contracts not agents not parents. They want to fight the best in the world and the best fighters give or take a few are in the ufc. Its very simple you wanna fight, sign the contract if you dont then good luck with another promotion. You’re telling me that these guys can make millions being teachers, construction workers and martial art instuctors, i think not which most of them were doing before the ufc so stop trying to beat down Dana White and the UFC for giving fighters an opportunity to do what they love. They fight two maybe three times a year and make millions geez who the hell is gonna pass that up. Stop trying to defend bullshit promotions and look at whats real in the mma game.
by freakyfreak106 on Nov 28, 2008 9:24 PM EST up reply actions
Are you serious? How many fighters make millions? Listen I agree if someone doesn’t like what there getting paid fine go fight elsewhere, but don’t make it out as if the UFC is littered with fighters making millions of dollars for fighting a couple times a year. That’s the big time guys only.
by shatner on Nov 28, 2008 9:37 PM EST up reply actions
I wasnt trying to say all fighters, let me clear the air if you’re the best in the world then you better damn well get paid like it. All I’m trying to say is they pay according to how good you are, you wanna get paid then fight the best and win its that simple. Why pay fighters who dont win championships. You dont see every pro athlete making millions every year only the best same in mma which I think is how it should be.
by freakyfreak106 on Nov 28, 2008 9:45 PM EST up reply actions
Dana and Zuffa take advantage of fighters because they take advantage of their desire to compete against the best. The fighters need to create a fighters union. Dana and Zuffa use fighters like they are a commodity that doesn’t need to be treated with respect and appreciation. Yes, the fighters don’t have anywhere else to go to fight the competition they would face in the UFC, and the UFC has a near monopoly on top notch fighters but it’s the fighters who put on the show and sacrifice their blood, sweat and tears.

Thank god Dan Lauzon finally gets some legit competition. Love his WCF fights (even though they r against scrubs) and can’t wait for him to get out of Mass. and into some more televised events.
Fedor by submission….Which would b the fist ever sub loss for the pittbull.
by Irishman on Nov 18, 2008 10:58 AM EST reply actions
Fedor is best known as “The Last Emperor” You will never see him fight any Top UFC people. The “Pit Bull” Arlovski has a very poor chance of beating any on the Emelianenko’s. Fedor will make short work of the “Pit-Bull” I’m not downing Andre but he has no where the skill set Fedor has. Randy Couture just Curred out plain and simple. Him running back to the UFC and away from Fedor made me lose my respect for Randy Couture. Fedor vs Bob Sapp would be almost retarded and about as entertaining as a Kimbo Slice fight. Forget about Fedor ever fighting Lesnar, Dana White will make sure it never happens. Brock is a huge Bad ass but he doesn’t have the skill that Fedor has. Brock in a few years may have a shot at it if he improves his ground game. Nogueira will take out Mir then he will take the belt from Lesnar using the same type of plan when he fought Bob Sapp and tapped him out. Now this is a Very SWEET card! I’ll be watching for sure! I watch most MMA events the UFC isn’t the god of MMA! GROW Affliction GROW!

Alright all you UFC haters who probably buy every pay per view and watch the ultimate fighter, does anyone know why most of all the new promotions usually go out of business in two or three years? Know wants to see BS fighters, yes i said it, who cares about Kimbo who tapped in his fight against thompson, and who dodged Brett Rodgers cause he sucks and will never face a real fighter. Nobody goes to these shows, nobody would buy a pay per view fight with garbage fighters, and most people dont even know who most of these fighters that other promotions are trying use as their big stars. The ufc is here to put the best mma fighters on showcase for the whole world to see, if there was no ufc there would be no affliction no strikeforce or dream. So instead of bashing the ufc you should be thanking it for bringin mma to what it is today. If your a true mma fan than you would agree with me if your not then your just a hater and if you dont have anything to hate on feel free to hate on me.

This is a good load of matches. Matt Lindland (21-5) vs. Vitor Belfort will be one of the good old matches in the undercard. We will see if Belfort’s striking will work against Lindland’s wrestling. Belfort’s opponent would be similar to his former opponent who defeated him – Randy Couture.
Fedro vs. Arlovski, hmm. Striking-wise, it will be an explosion for sure. Grappling, I don’t know if their Sambo will cancel out each other. I believe Fedor will win, either via super submission or unanimous decision.

Alright I have a question. There are two different stories going around right now! WHO IN THE BLUE HELL IS ARLOVSKI FIGHTING?! I have heard alot about him fighting Barnett and its all over Facebook. In other places, like here, Fedor is the one fighting Arlovski. I just want to know does anyone have a URL to the latest update in this fight card? I MUST KNOW!
Fedor sub Arlovski
or
Arlovski ko Barnett
by Chris Prewett on Dec 16, 2008 12:21 AM EST reply actions
Fedor by sub in the 2nd-3rd rnd IMHO. I’m a Fedor fan for sure but Arlovski has looked awesome in his last two fights even though they were with semi nobodies. This will be a great fight i think that it will either end quickly or go pretty long but i still see Fedor pulling off the sub in the end. Arlovski would only win if he can ko Fedor wich is pretty hard.

i think fedor is very good but if you look at the compeition he has faced in the last 2 years, its lacking. compared to the ufc guys. I think arlovski is going to give him his toughest test since cro cop in 06. i can even see arlovski winning the match!

I see all these comment’s defending Afflition, and they are right that there are good fighters and good fight cards anyy MMA fan would agree, But UFC is were the best fighters are period no question about it. Affliction is Like a Minor league Baseball team were UFC is like the Major’s if you love baseball you’ll watch both especially to see if there is any potential for the Major’s if you just like it you’ll probally just watch the Major’s. Same goes for the UFC there’s the guy’s who watch all kinds of MMA and then there’s peaple that will watch only UFC the Major’s of MMA were the best play.

some of the above comments make me laugh, saying fedor’s last two fights were with semi-nobodies, etc. etc. c’mon this is a good fight card. i dont know about anyone else but i’m an mma fan…period and if any organization has a worthwhile card i’m buyin!!! dont forget too that this is above all for everyone but the fan a business, so quit hatin on the ufc for making the most of the industry! most of the fighters have high paid lawyers to protect their interests, and they are grown men as well anyway. good luck to all organizations!!! my predictions for fedor and andre…depends on which andre shows up—-the one afraid to engage and get knocked out or the pitbull. either way it ends toward the end of one or the beginning of two… by knockout or tko…fedor wins!

In all honesty just looking at the numbers Fedor wins but looking at the odds? I put 3 bills on Arlovski. MMA is hard to predict and sometimes you go with your gut. Andre is a bad boy no doubt and like it was mentioned earlier, If the Pit Bull shows up, Cha-Ching baby!

Affliction wont be around much longer… The fighters love getting paid $1,000,000 a fight im sure but they better soak it up cuz thats whats gonna make it go under…. Its a joke. Fedor needs to grow some balls and prove hes the best and step in the UFC. He says its not about money… Prove it.
