MMA Quick Quote: Fedor's first hat trick since 2005?

Two more fights are planned for Fedor. The first one in October in the context of the next Affliction show in conjunction with M-1 Global. The second one at New Year’s Eve in Japan, most likely it’s going to be the M-1 Challenge Finale and Fedor will compete in a superfight, probably his opponent will be the winner of ‘Fighting Fedor’ or another top fighter.
-- Red Devil Manager and President of M-1 Global, Vadim Finkelstein, maps out the remainder of 2008 for his star pupil Fedor Emelianenko in a recent interview with MFC M-1. The "Last Russian Emperor" is scheduled to face former UFC heavyweight champion Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia at Affliction: Banned on July 19 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Anderson Silva:
“I don’t have intention to fight on this category and I’m only doing this because they (UFC) asked me and I think I can do it. I don’t intend to fight for this belt, this belt belongs to Lyoto (Machida) and he already proved that. I’m going to fight because I like to fight and because I like challenges.”

Also Dana white says he is real close to a network deal and if he had to guess, The UFC wil be on a major network in 3 months.
UFC is planning on Countering the EliteXC’s second CBS show on July 26th by7 airing UFC 84 on spike TV!

Hmmm, as much as i don’t want to doubt what Silva has said, money talks and there are some seriously big fights for him at L/HW with massive PPV buys.
Dana is gonna put a few tasty looking carrots in front of his nose.
by Nick J on Jul 9, 2008 8:59 AM EDT up reply actions
I just lost respect for Silva if he actually said this. Machida deserving lhw belt is obsurd, try beating a top five opponent then I think you will deserve a shot. I hope anderson did not state this b\c Machida has to wait in line like everybody else no exceptions. So to all you Machida nut huggers stop bitching about Machida being neglected a title shot, if he wants the belt he has to face anybody joe and dana say.

When hasnt he fought whoever the UFC put in front of him? WTF are u talking about dude? Fighters turn down fights against the Dragon, not the other way around! Machida Fought and dominated everyone that the UFC has ever put in front of him. If u have beef with his quality of opponents that he has faced, Blame the UFC or the other fighters that are scared to death of his style, not the Dragon!
Unless Rampage decides to dominate the LHW division, top fighters are going to play “Musical title” with the LHW belt, meaning the title is going to keep changing hands frequently. I want Rampage to get his immediate title shot, but then again him not having the title leaves it wide open for a Rampage vs. Wanderlei Mega fight! I also wouldnt mind seeing Chuck vs. Forrest…But I dont want Forrest to loose that belt before Rampage gets his hands on him.

john, i respect your opinions on here, but “unless Rampage decides to dominate” is a little silly i think…. i love the guy too, but after watching him on his back against forrest i have serious questions…. how is a dominant champion top P4Per in the world gonna lay there and do nothing from his back and have no ability to stand back up… i think it would be more likely that shogun got his shit together and decided to dominate. I could also see Machida reigning for a long time but we would all be bored to tears

fedor is pure golden, hope he gets to fight at least one more top ten fighter this year. and i also take fedor to beat tim. just cause he hasn’t fought a top ten hw for a while doesn’t mean he’ll loose to tim. he has been training like made the last few years and is more than likely is even better than he was a couple years ago, which is scary. my #1 dream match would be if fedor could some how fight anderson silva maybe at 205 or 210 i think they can both make that. i know it’ll never ever happen but i could die happy if it did. and i wouldn’t pick a winner i would just sit back and enjoy.
by doomdoom on Jul 9, 2008 2:01 AM EDT reply actions
Do you think tim can beat him? i think silvia is a can, he only wins cuase no one can deal with his size and hight, But im not not sure about fedor yet, He’s beaten great guys, just not recently, is he finishes Tim, then I’ll beleive the Myth. If Tim Beats him, Then I’ll laugh my ass off.
by Chase on Jul 9, 2008 2:08 AM EDT up reply actions
i think tim can win if he keeps the fight standing, but if fedor takes him down its over just like the nog fight.
and i wouldnt go that far and call tim a can. :)

DoomDoom: I agree! I laugh at people when they try to tell me that just because Fedor hasnt fought a tough opponent since 2005, that he lost his skills….What a joke!
Fedor wil prove to be Fedor…nothing will change. He will dominate like he always does, and Tim will be eating Russian Elbows for Dinner on July 19th!
WAKE UP BITCHES!!! My 76’ers signed Elton brand! Whooooooooo (In my matt hamil voice)

Elton left L.A. for Philly..wow.. that is a real good pick up for the 76ers.. he’s a 20/10 guy..that’s F’d up for B. Davis.. I think he wanted to play with Brand in L.A.
by PhilQNY on Jul 9, 2008 9:03 AM EDT up reply actions
John, i have to agree. Until Fedor shows that his skills have deteriorated, I HAVE to believe that he is still by far and away the best ever. People either have not heard of him or simply haven’t seen him compete. Guys, he is a stone cold killer. You can’t faze him mentally or physically. It’s like watching a robot in the ring, facial expression never changes, and he’ll take your best shot w/o flinching, then proceed to bestow upon his opponent an @ss whipping of biblical proportions. It’s strange cuz he doesn’t look like some huge tough guy, but don’t let his appearance fool you. I am actually a fan of Tim, but Fedor just might rip his arm off and beat him with it.

Speaking of H and R block, my school has a co-op program which means they pair us up with company’s and basically provide us with paid 6 months internships… I am interviewing for the internships now, and will have to work from September-febuary… Tomorrow I have an interview with H and R block, but not doing accounting…I will interview for one of its marketing positions…Hope it goes well!

Great post Chefdaddy! It drives me INSANE to hear idiots hating on Fedor…. Its like when people used to hate on Micheal Jordan, what a joke! IMO, he trumps Anderson as the best fighter in the history of mma and I dont see any signs of that changing anytime soon. He is still young, dedicated and trains like a mad man!~ I dont see him loosing to anyone, but Barnett would have the best chance!
Phil: I too cant believe Brand left LA for PHILLY, but I aint complaining either! He is a 20-10 guy throughout his entire career and in the Eastern Conference that lacks Big Men, he will be a force to deal with….Now my sixers are just a pure shooter away from competiting at that high level! Oh Happy Day!

I love some of the verbiage used in chefdaddy’s post – great job!
DOES ANYONE KNOW when “Fighting Fedor” comes out??? I just remember hearing about it really quickly here a while back. Is it a tv show? or internet show? and has the filming begun? when is the debut? ANYONE???
by ViolentMike on Jul 9, 2008 10:57 AM EDT up reply actions
John, good luck with the interview, but you need to get some kind of position in the world of MMA. Nowhere else could you be as happy! lol. With the whole Fedor thing, I can understand some of the hate towards him, but not the lack of respect towards his accomplishments and abilities. He is, w/o a doubt, the BEST in the world. The main problem is that for several years, no one of worth has been given the opportunity to TAKE that title from him. I can only speak for the average U.S. fan, but we want to see the best fight the best, all the time. He has given back to the Japanese fans (who almost worship him as a god) with his recent “freakshow” fights. But hopefully the fight with Sylvia will start him down the road of constant, top tier competition. Again, until Fedor proves he’s not the best, he is in my eyes. Just like I won’t believe Bisping isn’t middle of the road til he beats someone of worth. lol I HAD to throw that in there.
by chefdaddy on Jul 9, 2008 11:59 AM EDT up reply actions
JOhn, I’m just curious. You always keep mentioninig Barnett’s name when it comes to beating Fedor. Do you think he has the proper tools to beat Fedor? I mean, he was knocked out by Rizzo. As well as submitted by Cro-Cop. So I was just thinkin’ that he wouldn’t stand a chance against Fedor “Robot” Emelianenko.
by TheNegation on Jul 11, 2008 12:43 AM EDT up reply actions
“He only wins cause no one can deal with his size and height.” Should you blame Tim for that? Is it his fault? that’s like saying Tracy Ogden is only good cuz he’s huge and fast, or Carl Lewis sure was lucky he was a good runner, Lucky Phelps can swim, or blaming Manning for being able to read a defense and throw a football. Don’t blame an athlete if they use their physical attributes to be better. If Daniel Boulud wasn’t blessed with a superb palate and remarkable skill, I could cook better than him. lol
by chefdaddy on Jul 9, 2008 8:26 AM EDT up reply actions
I am a UFC fan in the main but when you watch Fedors old fights you notice he is a different class.
His speed for his size is amazing, his striking is top draw and just watch the Randleman slam if you want to know how hard his head is… he has no weaknesses.
My last bit of nuthugging is with regards to his transitions into arm-bars, give him a tiny window of opportunity and your tapping in seconds.
Do your hoomework mate (i did) and you will be a believer.
by Nick J on Jul 9, 2008 8:48 AM EDT up reply actions
Correct. Fedor rips arms off!!! And that is how I see the fight ending, but I am just hoping that Fedor gets some sweet and bloody GnP in first before sub’ing him.
Not only is his standup VERY good and of course he can take a big time beating and keep coming forward (he had Cro Cop, in his prime, backpedalling the whole fight), the best hips in the HW division, but his GnP is off the hook as well!
People forget that there is a standing guard pass named after him, “The Fedor Pass”. Its when the opponent is on his back looking for upkicks, and you are standing. You grab ahold of your opponents ankles and throw thier legs to one side and collapse down with a monster punch.
I also must admit that Fedor has the best hammer fists in MMA. Although, after seeing Brock’s UFC debut, he may be taking the cake on this one real soon.
by ViolentMike on Jul 9, 2008 11:02 AM EDT up reply actions
great post VM….his hammerfists are often overlooked. That guard pass is amazing, and the only guy whop can come close to doing it as well as Fedor is Shogun…He knocked Overeem sensless with that move

If you want the JOB.. it’s yours.. so you figure out what you ..and it will be so.
I love Fedor’s looping left hook..it’s just nasty.
by PhilQNY on Jul 9, 2008 12:58 PM EDT up reply actions
Chase: Fedor is not a myth.
I was firstly just into the UFC then i did my research into the other orgs and came across Fedor.
He has no weaknesses, he is srong as an ox, has a head made out of stone (watch the randleman slam), striking is top notch and give him a tiny opportunity and he’ll have you tapping in a second… his transitions to armbars are quicker than a lightweights.
Do your homework and you will be a believer.

I would love to see it… probably not going to happen. Tim vs Fedor is a great match up… Fedor needs to beat Tim and another top ten fighter in October… he fights way to many cans. Tim is a solid fighter beating AA, Rico(when he was on top of his game) and Vera, who still might be champ one day. I only hope Tim doesn’t turn it into a snoze fest? I thought that reality show also got cut as well? July 19th is coming boys………………………………

Just cause Fedor hasnt fought in a while, doesnt mean that all of the sudden he has lost his skills. Fedor is one of the hardest working men in mma, when he isnt fighting he is always training. He will be just fine…He will do what he has done through out his entire Career…..DOMINATE!!!
Fedor is the only fighter that impresses me more than Anderson!
by john on Jul 9, 2008 8:44 AM EDT up reply actions
I don’t know if Fedor could be considered the hardest working man in MMA. I would think that if he was, he would have somewhat of a better physique.
Urijah Faber and Forrest Griffin are definitely two of the hardest working guys in mma.
by ViolentMike on Jul 9, 2008 11:03 AM EDT up reply actions
Maybe, but Fedopr strikes me as one of those people that are incapable of having that kind of physique. Maybe I am wrong….UI just dont see him as the 6 pac abs type, no matter how many sit ups he does

Kind of like how Rogan describes Buentello. He’s just built that way, no matter how hard he works out or how many weights he lifts or how people he destroys.

That Fighting Fedor show is still going to happen? The winner is who he fights on New Year’s Eve? I hope they don’t plan on competing with whatever card the UFC is throwing.

I know right, I thought that show was pulled and I thought M1 had released him from negotiations (supposedly they never had a contract). This Fedor stuff is making me confused, but I don’t care, I just want to see him fight again.

Game plans work for people with holes in their game which fedor doesnt realy have. tim should try leg kicks but fedor will just take him down and tim knows it so tim wont dare use kicks much.
