Surprise surpirse, Koschek BORED me again! Nothing I hate more then 1 dimensional wrestlers!

That is the most gracious I have ever see Koscheck.

I thought this was the best Kos has looked in the octagon. He showed some really good ground and pound and did everything he could to finish the fight. Most fights would be stopped after a fighter had what Rogan called a goat vagina opened up on their head.

Maybe its that I hate Koschek more then any other fighter or the fact that I cant stand 1 dimensional wrestlers, but I thought it would be a more exciting fight, and not because I thought that lytle would win, I just expected Fireworks, and got Bottle rockets instead!

For those that want to know what pissed me off, here it is:
I am more pissed at Rampage then I am at the Decision because Forrest haqd no choice other than winning a decision. In 25 minutes Rampage has the ability to finish anyone! AS fans we got jipped out of a highly anticipated title fight because there were about a million things that I did not like out of Rampage’s performance.
1) I did not like Rampages demeanor. From when he walked into the cage, he was flat footed, and laid back and honestly he did not come to fight. I think he highly underestimated Forrest and to me it llooked like he felt he did not need to be active and that he couuld just stand there, flat footed wait for an opening and Crack Forrest with a big shot and win the fight. iT was a very lazy effort by Rampage.
2) WTF was upp with Rampages game plan? Like we all knew, Forrest has no POWER what so ever and he could not hurt Rampage with any of his punches. Only damage he could do were the leg kicks. With that said, why did Rampage just sit in the pocket and wait for a counter punch? i dont get it! When u have all the KO power and you know that your opponent cant hurt you, your game plan should be ATTACK! If rampage would have kept attacking, Forrest would have kept retreating and wouldnt even be able to throw any leg kicks. When u are lucky enough to fight someone that you know cant hurt you, u have to bully him, keep attacking and backing him up, not sit in the pocket and look for a big counterpunch to end the fight. it was very lazy!
3) I am starting to think that Rampage performs much better in a 3 round fight then he does in a 5 round fight. In his fights vs. Hendo and Forrest, I feel that Rampage worried too much about saving energy for the 4th and 5th rounds that he did not open up enough and come to Finish the fight in the early rounds. In a 3 round fight, I feel Rampage will be more comfortable and push the pace looking for the big finish.
4) I think some X-factor worked against Quinton last night! He cleary under estimated Forrest. He showed Forrest No respect what so ever because he didnt fight. He stood completly still, let Forrest attack anytime he wanted, feeling that he could finish the fight whenever he felt like itwith a big counter punch. I dont know if it was under estimating Forrest or that the 9 month lay off hurt him, but as a HUGE Rampage fan, I feel really jipped out of a BIG FIGHT because he did not come to fight. Regardless weather Forrest deserved to win this or not, NO EXCUSES because Rampage did not fight even closely to his best fight and anyone who will argue with that is dillusional. He was not hurt and out of shape like Shogun was, he just didnt fight. AS a champion thats headlining a pay per view in a fight that we waited half a year for, he has to fight his best fight, and that was not close to fighhting up to his capabilities! I am disspointed in the decision because I feel like it was a BS one, but I am more dissapointed in Rampage because as a defending Champion, youo have to bring it and fight to the best of yoour capabilities and he clearly did not do that last nighht!
regardless of the outcome, I am not to mad about the decision. After all, Forrest brought his A game, Rampage did not….therefore I cant really defend Rampage regardless if I feel he deserved to wake up today with out the title or not! Much props to Forrest for Bringing it! at least 1 guy came to fight!

Wah! Wah! Wah! Rampage didnt fight to his capabilaties.. Wah! Wah! It was a draw Wah! Wah! 9 month lay off Wah! Wah! What kind of champ will Forrest be? Wah! Wah! Just stop acting like you know everything. And now KOS was boring? Wah! Wah! What ever dude. KOS stood with Lytle and out worked him, then dominated him.

John, I was one of the few guys on here to pick Lytle and I hate KOS more than any other fighter, but that was NOT a boring fight. It was no lay n pray. Kos just beat him down, period. I actually thought it should have been stopped in the 2nd. I think you are a little blinded by your gambling bets. That is the exact reason I don’t bet. I watch the sport as a fan because I love it.
by BNF on Jul 6, 2008 2:51 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
JOHN… stop complaining. the fighters arent going to do everything you want them to do.
by will on Jul 6, 2008 3:19 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
BNF: I hear what u r saying but I dunno. This is the 1st time I lost money betting against Koschek, and the only fight I think I ever enjoyed that he took part in was the GSP fight….I guess I just dont like his style and I never liked 1 dimensional wrestlers like Hughes and tito.
I will say that Koschek was very effective last night, but
I didnt find it all that entertaining. Maybe it has to do with because Kos had lytle stacked up, we couldnt really get to see all the big bombs that kos hit him with actually land….
Maybe I just hate on kos that much that I can not enjoy watching him fight…I dunno what it is….I wonder who he will fight next! I thought Diego would have been the perfect choice, but I think we will see a better fight between Diego and Alves.
They may make Kos fight Swick! i know that they are against it, but what other top welterweight is coming off of a win?
by john on Jul 6, 2008 6:40 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I’m not a fan of Kos, but if u haven’t recognized within the last couple of years he’s progressed way past lay n’ pray, your bias is getting in the way… I thought this was one of his more humble interviews, maybe getting thrown around by GSP taught him to keep his yap shut.
by THORAZINE on Jul 6, 2008 8:11 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Cant I not like the guy in peace? damn! I never said he hasnt progressed. All I was trying to say was that I dont look forward to seein him fight at ALL, and he is still pretty one dimensional. All he can do in his stand up is throw some decent kicks, and that wild, stupid over hand right that hasnt caught anyone in like 4 fights!
I recoginize him as a top 10 fighter, but I do not enjoy watching him fight.

I have not liked, or I should rather say, I have hated Kos since TUF 1 for the way that he acted, specifically towards Chris Leben. Watching that season, you were either a fan of Leben, or a fan of Kos and B-South (LOL), or didn’t care. Leben and kos were like the Yankees and Red Sox. If you like one, you hate the other. Since I’ve always been a big Chris Leben fan, I have always been a Kos hater.
John, didn’t you bet on McLovin to beat Kos? I know I sure did…

+1, I don’t like Koscheck and as much as I don’t like diego, I would like to see diego kick his ass for being such a boring fighter.
by rg on Jul 6, 2008 3:50 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yes. The series is tied, Diego 1, Kos 1. The rubber match must happen, and not while Diego is told days before the fight that he is dying… I wonder of Kos is confidant enough in his BJJ defense to go for a takedown against Diego with more than 10 seconds to go in the round.

Boring fight. Kos had some good gnp, and lylte looked fine just loosing the whole fight. I thought it would have been better. Who’s next for Kos? How about Swick?

They’re teammates. Kos, Swick and Fitch will never fight each other.

This is my first post on here and just wanted to say you guys leave some great post. But I just wanted to say why do ppl keep saying KOS needs to fight Swick or Fitch. Theres no need for that at all! The division is stacked. How about he fights the winner of Deigo/Alves and the winner of that gets a title shot. If Fitch happens to be champ (not likely but itll be a good fight) than KOS can fight him than. Just makes no sense at all for him to fight Swick where they are too many other guys out there. How about Hughes, Karo, and the fight I mentioned earlier. Too many other possibilities

Im not hating on Koschek, but is it me or does he look like a hobo?
by the_mexicutioner on Jul 6, 2008 12:59 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I dont know why there are so many KOS haters here. Sure sometimes his fights are boring and I dont think last night fight was. But u gotta admit he has some good wins and whether Deigo had a staff infection or not doesnt matter as Deigo took the fight anyways when he coulda backed out. He acted all tough and pushed him off the stage at the weigh in and only to show nothing at the fight.
If you are hurt dont fight, noone forced him too. Another thing that impressed me about KOS is how he didnt get steamrolled through GSP like how GSP destroys other ppl. The fact he even took GSP down in the 1st round and just lost a decision and got outwrestled to me is very impressive so give the guy a break, hes a top contender. Love him or hate him you have to admit that
by llMaNNyll on Jul 6, 2008 1:04 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can’t stand Koscheck because:
1. He proved during his TUF stint that he’s a douchebag.
2. Before he realized just how much everyone hates him, he used to act incredibly arrogant, only reinforcing that impression. It’s hard not to feel that the new, gracious Koscheck is just an act.

all kos did was throw a few elbows and lay on him for the majority of the fight, if chris lytle would have trained better and been able to hip escape he would have won that fight
by brendan on Jul 6, 2008 1:29 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
That’s the whole thing, Kos has the best hips in the division. He was a 4 time all american wrestler in college. That is unheard of. That means he was a freshman and was dominating seniors that are 3 years older. THAT is impressive.
Lytle was even able to sweep Hughes. The problem is that once Kos is on top of you, he keeps you down.

I thought Kos was prety active on he ground. He was pulling that lay n’ pray stuff he used to. I’m not his biggest fan, but he has gotten alot better. Alves would be a great fight for him next.
by DSmith on Jul 6, 2008 3:04 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Alves was able to stop the Hughes takedown with ease. I wonder how he’d do stopping a Kos takedown?
Also, I heard about Kos thinking about moving down to 155. Can he?? What’s he walk around at? I always saw him as a pretty solid WW, not a small WW.

Koshcheck will NOT be able to “hang” with Penn if and whenever they do fight. His past interview was ridiculous.
by pUniSHment on Jul 6, 2008 3:33 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs

john…Very interesting 3rd point. I never thought of it that way, but I think you may be right…
But one thing I’d like to ask, stop hijacking threads and taking on a completely different tangent. This is a KOSCHECK thread. There are numerous other threads related to the PPV in which you could have stayed on topic. I mean, your scoops once in a while are alright, but come on man stick to the topic once in a while.

THAT WAS THE MOST RUTHLESS DISPLAY I HAVE SEEN FROM KOS EVER! I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT THE REF SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THE FIGHT. LYTLE WAS GONE AND WASNT GONNA COME BACK, BUT THEY LET THE ELBOWS CONTINUE. I AINT A REF THOUGH THERE WAS LOTS OF BLOOD FLOWING FROM LYTLES HEAD. TOO MUCH IF YOU ASK ME. ANYWAYS CONGRATS TO KOS FOR THE WIN.

Kos has greatly improved his over all game since his days on TUF. Lytle is no joke, I don’t think he has ever been finished. Kos came close.
by Mike on Jul 7, 2008 2:29 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I like Kos and that was total domination over Lytle, but Kos needs to start working his bjj if he wants to continue his success. He’s been working his striking for awhile, but it seems like he’s totally neglected the bjj part of his game, so he’s hesitant to go to the ground with guys like Diego. Unless he gets his bjj up to speed, it’s pointless for him to move to 155 because he would have no chance at all against Penn.
by cmon on Jul 7, 2008 2:58 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
any time a talented wrestler beats a talented striker its the same old story, “he’s one dimensional” well tough caca wrestling is a part of mma, you cant expect a fighter like koscheck to abandon his background and play into another guys strength. He has to fight in a manner that affords him the best opportunity to WIN! If a fighter has a problem with that maybe they should try boxing or kickboxing
