not the 2 best middeweights in the world, but they will put on 1 hell of a show. I am actually looking forward to this fight…too bad the commercials and the production wil ruin it!

by john on Jun 30, 2008 5:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yea but you have to remember all the crap you have to deal with in a ppv. i guess there are less comercials between rounds on ppv.but still a ton between fights.

Why is it that those who post “1st” are never actually 1st? Grow up, its been going on on this site for like 2 years now. Lets put that 1st crap to bed alreADY!

by john on Jul 1, 2008 9:57 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

wow iv’e been reading this site for a year and a half and today is the first day i am leaving comments and one thing i have learned is never to assume your first and no one cares untill they think their first.

About time this was the main event. Don’t count out Smith so soon, he made an amazing performance last time and has really shown some improvement on his ability to hang. I figured it would be a quick fight as well with Lawler dominating but I was completely wrong and in a good way. I will definetly watch this fight again.

are you the same guy saying gonzaga should be out of the ufc? and now your saying don’t count scott smith out cause he has gotten better? so give smith a chance but not gonzga? your so confusing. don’t get me wrong i think this wil be a better fight cause scott has improved. but at the same time you sould give gonzga a chance cause he was dominating and got caught. so lets give all a chance and the sun will shine on our shoulders and the rednecks will not pick on the hippies anymore.

by doomdoom on Jun 30, 2008 4:49 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yea gonzaga’s great… thats why he’s fighting that beast Justin Mccully… right…

by O damn he got caught on Jun 30, 2008 4:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yep doode that was me. But it wasn’t meant to make it look like I wanted Gonzaga out of the UFC, I meant it wasn’t really news worthy IMO. Anyway yep Scott deserves not to be over looked here considering he did an amazing job standing with Lawler when he was actually supposed to be a sacrificial lamb. Gonzaga is being held to higher standards unfortunatly and though I think he could handle a Justin McCully I don’t think he is ready for a belt, where Scott is no longer in the UFC where I know he couldn’t handle the belt but instead is in the EXC where its a little different when you face B level opponent all the time. Point is you don’t compare apples and oranges and though Gonzaga is skilled he is not ready for the UFC belt.

by Smokes on Jun 30, 2008 6:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

agreed not ready for the belt but he can make his way up but you know that.and yea i gained a bit of respect for smith after that lawler fight. and your right i did think you ment gonzo (haha why didn’t i think of that earlier) should not be in the ufc anymore sorry for the misunderstanding.

Dude even Elite XC’s promos are low class…

by WarriorCenter on Jun 30, 2008 5:04 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

not saying he’s great but he has done alot better than most in the ufc. two losses in the ufc sucks but you can always come back and go along way. and gonzga is better than lost the ufc hw divsion but but hey your right he lost before so screw him.

MOST! damnit. i need to proff read!
sorry

You are right, he’s definitely a top 5 HW in the UFC.
Even Couture gave him his props.
While he’s suffered two defeats, it’s not like he’s been fighting any stiffs.
Gonzaga is on the road to redemption.

as long as he wakes up and works his cardio and conditioning.

by doomdoom on Jun 30, 2008 5:31 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The only reason he is top 5 in the UFC is cause the UFC HW division is supremely weak. Dude can beat great fighters but does anyone really think Gonzaga is the guy to beat Nog? I think he could probably take Mir but I would still vote for Mir cause I’m biased toward him but he lost to Werdum twice and Randy once (who is also over hyped at HW)

by Smokes on Jun 30, 2008 6:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

gonzo cant beat nog now. he’ll gas to soon, but in a future date i belive he can. but only if he gets his cardio together.

by doomdoom on Jun 30, 2008 8:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

won’t be watching it. eliteXC is rubbish to me ever since i wasted my life on the last CBS event. i am however excited for affliction.

by captainbilldude on Jun 30, 2008 5:21 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i say at least give it another chance and if it sucks again then never watch it again but maybe they learned from their mistakes of the first show. and yea it’s 2nd rate but 2nd rate mma is alot better than anything else on tv.

by doomdoom on Jun 30, 2008 5:34 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I wont lie, this card is 100% better than the card that was put together the first time.

Jake Shields vs. The Goat should be a very awesome fight to watch.

Big Foot vs. Eilers is garbage
Diaz vs. Denny is garbage

Main Event should be AWESOME.

Lol they put in a one punch highlight of Shields hitting Okami? Please Sheilds was awarded a decision he did not deserve. BS

by Bic on Jun 30, 2008 6:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs
