COTE IS GONNA GET MURDERED IN THIS FIGHT. HE REALLY THINKS THAT HES GONNA KNOCK OUT SILVA !? PLEASE, I HAVE A BETTER CHANCE GETTING INTO A 3SOME W/ SCARLETT JOEHANSEN, LINDSAY LOHAN, AND KIM KARDASHAIN. GET REAL COTE.

NO, he had it right— a threesome— he’ll be watching… from a peephole. ROTFL

But seriously, i totally agree w/ raf— Cote stands no chance.

I don’t think you get into the ring without thinking (or “knowing” in you own mind) you are going to win! Cote has the right attitude to face Silva, but Silva is the more “methodical” fighter in this match. If you watch his eyes when he fights he is using his peripheral vision to judge his opponent’s movements, he is eerily methodical and so precise. It is like he already knows what his opponent is going to do. I predict unless he is ill, or becomes overconfident (and stops being hungry), he will definitely stand the victor at the end of this bout! I see Silva taking the 205 belt in the future as well. He is the BJ Penn of the 185-205 class and then some! Pound for pound, on a good night no one can touch this guy! Prove me wrong?

by bryant on Aug 2, 2008 1:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I don’t see Cote holding his own against Silva. He’ll try to push the pace and get ko’ed, easy.

by Griffin on Aug 3, 2008 4:11 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i heard cain velasquez is fighting antonio hardock and tyson griffin is fighting sean sherk on the card as well

by bryant on Aug 4, 2008 10:07 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yes, I would love for SHerk to show that he is still the number 2 lightweight in the wolrd ! This card is looking very nice !

by Liddell-Marquardt-GSP-Sherk on Aug 4, 2008 9:34 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i think silva will end up submitting cote.

by Sinister on Aug 4, 2008 5:23 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Cote? Not even close. The rest of the card looks ok though.

by Sideshow on Aug 5, 2008 6:41 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

What’ll be on the televised part d’ye think?
Obviously the title bout which’ll last 2-3 mins tops with Silva destroyin him
If Fabricio’s right in sayin he’s gonna get a title shot for winning thats gotta be on the main card
Just hope the Sherk bout makes it, thats gonna be really good

by IrishKev on Aug 6, 2008 1:04 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

ummm of course sherk and tyson fighsts is gonna be on the main card and ur forgettin deigo sanchez is fightin thaigo this card is lookin real good

by ufcmanaic2008 on Aug 12, 2008 12:46 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

by streydogg781 on Aug 6, 2008 5:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I hope Sherk gets KO’ed in the first!

by Kincaid on Aug 7, 2008 11:51 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

keep hoping… he takes this fight easily, tyson had problems with frankie edgar who is not nearly as strong or powerful as sherk, sean sherk is an absolute lock in this fight. my other picks are leites and clementi

by brendan on Oct 19, 2008 10:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The only fights sherk hasn’t lay and prayed he’s lost

by Kincaid on Aug 7, 2008 11:50 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lay and pray? is that what you call elbows from the mount and side control? both florian and franca were destroyed by the end of those fights, quit whining and appreciate the talented wrestler that sherk is

by brendan on Sep 8, 2008 12:01 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lots of rumors about who else is being added to this card, i’ve even seen wanderlai silva come up on different sites, i hope this card is the sickest card in history, because i live in chicago and i’m definitely going

by Matty B on Aug 12, 2008 10:53 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

you are smokin some serious bat shit kid. you got sriker vs striker. cote better not think about a ground fight, he cant theat would be suicide. i would be suprised if he gets outta the first round without getting ko’d.

by caw on Sep 18, 2008 12:02 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’m Canadian, and I’ve liked Cote for years. I just don’t give him much of a chance against Silva. He just hasn’t fought tough enough opponents. Not that Cotes not a good fighter, but the only reason he already has a title shot is because the MW division is thin. I think he get ko’d near the end of the first. But lets hope for a more competitive fight.

by DH on Sep 22, 2008 12:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It’s always fun watching Silva fight, but Cote won’t have a chance. He is going to get destroyed within the first two minutes.

by Anthony on Oct 13, 2008 4:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This card is fantastic. Diego is gonna upset Thiago. Even with all of those muscles (sure got a lot bigger recently..) Diego has better cardio and will beat him on the ground. I also say Griffin, Aurelio, Clementi will bring it and take it..oh yeah, and COTE!!!

by Big E on Sep 11, 2008 10:48 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Diago has improved his striking dramatically. I’m thinking that fight could go either way…i’m not too sure about the sherk fight…can he perform without all those juices running through his veins? haha…

by Jesse on Sep 12, 2008 3:34 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i like tis card. yea silva is the headliner but we all know whats going down there. im waitin for alves and sanchez, that right there is the fight of the night. they are both killers, i cant wait, i really dont know who is gonna win??? im goin with sanchez, he had a bad fight with kos, its personnel now. that boy a killa, some bad happenin to alves.

i am leaving today from cali to go to chicago
man this should be a awesome card

by bryant on Oct 24, 2008 10:48 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i think Silva has a great favor in this fight because he will utalize the clinch and keep this fight standing up with cote near him at all times. Dont count cote out though he has some juice in his very heavy hands. remember what happened to rampage when everybody counted forest griffin out. i would not be suprised if cote comes away witha very unlikley KO. but it would have to be early in the fight. seeing that there is 5 rounds and Anderson has EXCELLENT cardio he will win by a clinck KO or i would even expect them to go the distance. Silva will Win. but it will be the fight of the month.
