Tim Credeur vs Cale Yarbrough TUF 7 Finale fight official

It’s a battle of former Team Forrest members when Tim Credeur (9-2) and Cale Yarbrough (0-0) collide at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 Finale at The Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas, Nevada, this Saturday, June 21.
Credeur lost his initial semifinal bid to punch his ticket to the final fight against Amir Sadollah when he was defeated by Jesse Taylor in the final four. However, Taylor was kicked off the show shortly after it wrapped, creating another opportunity for Credeur to challenge for the six-figure contract.
He locked horns with the other eliminated semifinalist, CB Dollaway, in an eliminator match. But things did not go Credeur’s way – he lost via unanimous decision in a very close battle.
Yarbrough defeated John Clarke via technical knockout and Patrick Shultz via unanimous decision before getting pounded out by Dollaway in the quarterfinals.
He must have done something right because he was among the few of the 16 fighters asked to compete in the Finale. In fact, only half of the contestants earned the right to make their official Octagon debuts this weekend on the Spike TV special that begins at 9 p.m. ET.
The fight between Credeur and Yarbrough, however, has been relegated to the under card and there's no guarantee that it will make the broadcast.

Tim really impressed me in his fight with CB last night, he looked like a different fighter.

From the UFC site:
WHAT’S NEXT FOR DAN CRAMER
I was supposed to be fighting in the finale this weekend against Cale Yarbrough, but unfortunately I broke my collarbone during training camp. Although I won’t be fighting in the finale, I still have my contract with the UFC and am looking forward to fighting again as soon as I heal. I am extremely excited to be fighting for the best MMA organization in the entire world, and can’t wait to get back to training. Look to see me in the Octagon again sometime soon.
Anybody know why Harris was not invited but Cale was???

Tim is a warrior. He can take a shot and keep going.

And he is a total class act as well. Tim by first round submission. I see it going no other way. I typed about this fight in the thread about the Finale/Finals before this thread was created….

he definatly improved his stand-up for the fight with CB. cause against riddle and the pretty-boy, i forget his name, tim’s stand-up didn’t look so good. but his fight with CB was awesome. for a BJJ black belt, tim should have been throwin’ up more submissions. i really wanted tim to win that fight. but amir is takin it all!!!

Im glad that Dana only let half of the fighters, fight on the finale…….imo there was not alot of talent among this bunch..
That CB vs Amir last night was a great fight!..I am glad that after watching it, I know I get to see the re-match in only 2 days..I dont think that has ever happened?……..sweeeet!

this fight is a total JOKE! Tim is one of the top 3 guys on the season, Cale has no skills, whhy is this a match up? I just dont get it!

It’s to give Tim a great chance for a decisive win right off the bat. Every season has popular and/or talented fighters who don’t win but stick in the UFC anyway, like Kos, Leben, Hammill, M. Davis, etc. Tim is going to be around the UFC for a while, and this should let him start his career with a good KO or sub win.

I agree w/ john. Why the hell is Cale in the finale? You might as well throw in Jeremy May while you are at it…

What bothers me is that I would much rather see Credeur face Kramer again, than a new fight where Tim faces Cale. You know it’s going to be one sided and a guy like Kramer deserves a spot in the finale more than Cale “I can’t go to the mat” Yarbrough.

I really like Tim, glad he got on TUF 7, but someone has got to get that guy to tuck his chin and keep his left hand up. He is tough as hell, but his head was a sitting target for CB last night. That said, I think he takes this next fight pretty easily.
