Has anyone ever noticed his chin looks like an ass?

by Nick J on Jun 12, 2008 12:51 PM EDT reply actions

uriah is deff the best pound for pound fighter out there at 145! he is a beast! after his last fight it shows that he is totally well rounded ! and that is hard to stop him anywhere the fight goes !

Makes no sense, “Uriah is deff the best pound for pound fighter out there at 145” he’s either the best 145er out there or he’s the best pound for pound fighter out there, make up your mind =P

This video has been around, Faber tells an incredible story about fighting 12 thugs in a bar fight for his life in Bali Indonesia.

by THORAZINE on Jun 12, 2008 3:48 PM EDT up reply actions

That was an incredible story. Somebody could make a movie based on that.

by UFCAddict on Jun 12, 2008 4:27 PM EDT up reply actions

That it great! He is a bad ass!

by moocher on Jun 12, 2008 4:31 PM EDT up reply actions

I know its wishful thinking, but i want to see him fight Kid Yamamoto. I think that would be a great fight.

by chris on Jun 12, 2008 1:03 PM EDT reply actions

Wow, as I was watching this video I was saying that SAME exact thing to myself. That would be an incredible match-up.

by Tricky Nick on Jun 12, 2008 1:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Have ’em move up and fight Sean Sherk at 155 in the UFC, enough of this building 21 wins, he fights great guys, but its time to move up, lets see em do his thing at 155, there are a lot of great fights for him there!

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jun 12, 2008 1:34 PM EDT reply actions

i think he’s to small for 155 bro. why be a good fighter at 155, when he could be a god at 145. if he fought at 155 in the UFC, he would have to worry about bj. Urijah is a beast, but bj would beat him.

and speaking of UFC. maybe dana’s huge announcement is the junction of WEC and UFC. just a thought…

by CBfighter on Jun 12, 2008 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions

I think its about wanting to beat the best or at least fight the best. BJ will be gone from 155 soon, he doesnt even want to wait and fight the winner Flo/Huerta. Who else is there for Faber at 145? Din Thomas would be ok, but then what, just fight every 145er out there, can or not?

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jun 12, 2008 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Iono, he’s a small guy, Jens was big compared to him and Jens was a small lightweight..

by O damn he got caught on Jun 12, 2008 2:19 PM EDT up reply actions

also, doesn’t BJ train Urijah too?

by kitsunex on Jun 12, 2008 3:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Faber is too small for 155 lbs, he walks around at 152 lbs. He could hang with most of them, but not Sherk or BJ IMO. I think Faber is the star of the WEC and is primarily the guy keeping the 145lb division going. Moving him to the UFC wouldn’t be good for business and Dana White knows it.

by THORAZINE on Jun 12, 2008 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions

No other way, fight BJ! (it even rhymes ;D)

incredible talent, humble and hard working, will hold the 145 belt for along time, once he starts to bulk up (metabolism slows) he will hold the UFC 155 belt for along time, the man has warrior spirit

by daz on Jun 12, 2008 1:38 PM EDT reply actions

The man should play Danny Zucco in Grease, he’s the only man with a strong enough chin to even possibly follow up on Travolta’s act..

by O damn he got caught on Jun 12, 2008 2:15 PM EDT up reply actions

I didnt follow WEC that much but Ive started too do so. Is there any 145er out there that can give Faber a fight? And who out there is good at 135 to fight Torres?

by JV on Jun 12, 2008 2:01 PM EDT reply actions

I’d say Jens gave him a pretty damn good fight. But other than that, no.. not really..

by O damn he got caught on Jun 12, 2008 2:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Yea the Jens/Faber fight was bada$$ I was going for Jens, but $hit happens.

by JV on Jun 12, 2008 2:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Plus, they kind of brought in Jens. I don’t know who he could fight now?

by naturalshadow on Jun 12, 2008 5:07 PM EDT up reply actions

I think there’s a few smaller 155 lbs fighters from the UFC that could make their way to the WEC 145 lb division. Frankie Edgar for one, maybe Tyson Griffin Manny Gamburyan could cut the weight. However, these guys need a few losses at 155 before they would give the WEC a shot. Also, Gilbert Melendez from Strikeforce use to fight at 145lbs. There’s also a couple of guys from Japan organizations that could fight him. As far as the WEC goes,,, nah no one really.

by THORAZINE on Jun 12, 2008 3:56 PM EDT up reply actions

Imanari vs Faber would be an interesting fight, on the ground at least. Standing, it would be all Faber.

by khemtawe on Jun 12, 2008 5:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Faber would destroy Melendez. It would be worse than Penn vs. Sherk. On another note, I really like how gracious Pulver is in defeat. Something about those MidWest boys and good sportsmanship… him, Hughes, Fisher. It’s so much nicer to see than somebody crying for a rematch.

by UFCAddict on Jun 12, 2008 4:33 PM EDT reply actions

I don’t know about that… Melendez beat the livin’ shit outta’ Clay Guida and Guida almost beat Tyson Griffin (only fighter to beat Faber). Melendez has been fighting at 155lbs but started at 145lbs, He looks like he could still make that weight. IMO Faber would win a hard fought battle against Melendez… not worse than the Penn VS Sherk u described.

by THORAZINE on Jun 12, 2008 6:49 PM EDT up reply actions

I do believe that Melendez would be a good challenge for Faber, but you cannot use the analogy that Fighter A beat Fighter B, and Fighter B almost beat Fighter C. Therefore Fighter A > Fighter C. In MMA it’s a battle of match ups. That’s what makes this sport so great is that it can be very unpredictable. Case in point Chuck > Wandy > Keith > Chuck.

by Tricky Nick on Jun 12, 2008 10:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes, I know all that, I’ve also seen the Tyson vs Faber fight. I’ve seen them all fight. It was just a quick way to make a comparison to the caliber of Melindez. So many UFC fans don’t know who he is or any of the guys he fought, but they sure know who Tyson Griffin & Clay Guida are!

Anyway Tricky Nick, I don’t mind u or anyone calling me on comments… I’ve been known to put my foot in my mouth a few times! Glad to see u concur with Faber VS Melendez, they’re both incredible fighters, it would be a great fight!

by THORAZINE on Jun 13, 2008 2:36 AM EDT up reply actions

I don’t think it would be very competitive based off of Melendez’s performance on Dec. 31st. Maybe he’d surprise me, but I just see Faber taking it pretty easily.

by UFCAddict on Jun 13, 2008 5:55 PM EDT up reply actions

My only complaint about the fight was that Pulver didn’t let his hands go

Pulver is supposed to have one of the hardest lefts in the game, and he only threw it a couple times in a 5 round fight

by The Truth on Jun 12, 2008 8:08 PM EDT reply actions

Maybe Dana’s announcement is that uf is going to start a 145lb divison or incorporate it into the ufc in some.
If Faber fights BJ itd need to be at catch weight i dont think BJ would go down to 145 and Faber would be too small at 155
