Jason Day 'Count' down to 'Dooms' day Michael Bisping UFC 85 fight (Part IV)

The grind is over.
Today was the last day of conditioning for my upcoming middleweight fight with Michael Bisping at the O2 Arena in London, England, on June 7. It is always a weird feeling to be done with the grind -- all those weeks of intense training are done and now it is time to put it to the test.
I had an awesome last week of training. There were no snags ... I just put my nose to the grindstone.
Today we pushed it the hardest I have ever gone in my circuit. It's clear that I am in better shape than I was for the Alan Belcher fight at UFC 83: "Serra vs. St. Pierre" just this past April.
I love being done because I know my body gets a chance to rest and recover. It also means that I get to fight next week! Even though it was only a short five-week training camp I feel I have done more than enough. Everything is flowing well standing and on the ground.
The press for this fight is crazy. Everyone is calling wondering what the gameplan is and my thoughts on the fight. I can tell you that my game plan is always the same -- make him play my game.
I am going to push the pace in this fight like crazy and I will go whereever the fight takes me. The general opinion seems to be that people expect me to take him to the ground where he seems to be the most vulnerable.
That's not the case. I predict a stand up war!
If it goes to the ground then so be it, but I am not going to force the takedown. I know he will try to keep it standing and he will be very active and aggressive so I am looking forward to a tough exciting fight.
And that's just what I plan to give the fans in London and around the world.
Jason Day is a top Canadian mixed martial artist who was successful in his Octagon debut against Alan Belcher at UFC 83: "Serra vs. St. Pierre 2" on April 19. UFC President Dana White referred to his performance that night as "amazing" and has rewarded him with a high profile fight against The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 3 light heavyweight winner, Michael Bisping. Day is on a red hot five-fight win streak, which he will put on the line against "The Count" at UFC 85: "Bedlam" at the O2 Arena in London, England, on June 7. He'll detail his preparation for the bout right here at MMAmania.com with frequent updates. He would like to thank his sponsors Hardcor Fightwear & Apparel and BodyArt Fitness. i know these blogs are a load of patter to keep the die-hard fans informed but seriously this is a tougher fight than the leben fight by miles.jason day has a much bigger arsenal and more ways to win the fight but ill still go with bisping late stoppsge win by gnp or clear points win.bispings a beast at 185 and i expect him in with the winner of almeida/cote next.

I hope Bisping loses, especially because most people don’t know who Jason Day is yet, and they’ll think Bisping lost to a nobody, and it will be great. lol Yeah I’m not a Bisping fan at all.

look forward to seeing you get defeated by Bisping. I hope you are honest when you say you want stand up war. I know Bisping expects the unexpected so you can do what ever you like

Actually, I think standing with Bisping at the start is the best idea. I don’t think Bisping’s stand up is that great. He’s a scrapper, and loves to get the knees going, but his striking is just not that great. (For instance, I really think Hammill won the stand up in their fight.)
I say spend the first round standing and try to land some shots. If you haven’t landed anything by the middle of the second round, then try to take it to the ground. If Bisping’s stand up is too much right from the start, then try to take it to the ground.
Bottom line: I think Day needs to test Bisping’s stand up against his own before trying to take it to the ground.

I really like this fight better than with Leben. I dont like Leben or Bisping so I didnt want either to win that fight. Now I can watch Jason Day knock out Bisping.

It’s dooms day for Bull from nightcourt (Bisbing) and it will be nice to see him get KTFO in front of his own country after the robbery the last time he fought there. Yes! we did’nt forget, we stil remember what happend to our fellow American Matt Hamill. BORN IN THE USA, I WAS, BORN IN THE USA, I WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truthfully I’m not really sure what to think of Jason Day saying “Sure everyone thinks my gameplan should be to take Bisping down and try to grind him out, but I’m going to try and trade with him”. To me that seems to be letting Bisping play his game and to be a profoundly bad idea. It would be a more impressive way to win, but probably not a smart strategy.

Jason Day said he was going to stand with Belcher and everyone thought he was crazy, proved them all wrong and he will again this time also!!

oops, you’re right bro. my bad, don’t know why i thought that. it was still an impressive win against belcher who had looked good in the past and it would still be more than impressive to beat bisping in england.

Belcher has looked good and Day destroyed him. I will not be the least bit surprised if he hands Bisbing his first loss at 185.
