Alessio Sakara vs Rob Yundt Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale fight scheduled

alessio sakaraAlessio Sakara (12-7) is back in business, getting the green light to return to the Octagon against Rob Yundt (6-1) at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 Finale at The Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 9 p.m. ET on SpikeTV.

"Legionarius" has dropped two of his last three bouts, including his most recent contest against Chris Leben at UFC 82: "Pride of a Champion in March, which the Italian fighter lost via technical knockout (strikes) in round one. It was his middleweight debut after registering a very mediocre record at light heavyweight (3-3).

One has to imagine that this is a must-win situation for Sakara.

Yundt -- an Alaska Fighting Championship veteran -- had the unenviable task of taking a fight on short notice against Brazilian jiu-jitsu stud Ricardo Almeida at UFC 81: "Breaking Point" back in February. He lost that fight (the first of his career) via submission (guillotine choke) in round one.

He, too, needs a win to prove he's capable of competing on the biggest mixed martial arts stage operating today.

TUF 7 Finale will feature the middleweight showdown between former 185-pound champion, Evan Tanner, and TUF 3 middleweight winner, Kendall Grove. In addition, Diego Sanchez will meet Luigi Fioravanti in a welterweight tilt and the finalists from this season of TUF will meet in the finals to determine the tournament winner.

If the current UFC talent decisions are anything to go on only ONE of these guys will fight in the UFC after the TUF finale.

Why is Sakara still in the UFC?????

by alex on May 26, 2008 4:49 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

because he has heart. he’d rather lose by ko than win a decision

because he puts on a show. i’d much rather see a guy get KO’d because he trades shots (like sakara) than a guy that dominates and always wins by controlling his opponent (like matt lindland). thats why sakara is in the UFC and after he KO’s yundt, hes gonna stay in the UFC because hes an exciting fighter who goes for it in every fight.

because he is a REAL fighter! they need Sakara’s that comes to fight to have place for f’in Machida’s who is NOT a real fighter and boring as hell..

did u see titos face after the machida fight? he was fucked up! how is machida not a real fighter, he KO’d rich franklin with a head kick! nobody can even hit machida and his style is so different that i actually find him entertaining.

This guy has a horrible chin and will be gone after he loses this fight.

what, cause he got KO’d by alexander? or leben? or mcfedries? maybe its cause those 3 guys have hella heavy hands. maybe u should fight one of them and see just how strong ur chin is, cause i guarantee its softer than sakara’s. u seem to talk alot of crap about sakara, maybe u should fight him instead…

his record clearly blows, but he’s gotta sick style and i love watching him fight. and i’d rather watch sakara fight for a really crappy mma organization with like 10 people in the crowd, then watch machida fight on the biggest ufc card for the light heavyweight title. i don’t care how good he does, or how much the ufc hypes him up. when a machida fight comes on i’ll usally order some food lol.
