I will co-sign that. Wanderlei needs this win much more then Jardine does… I see a lot of wanderlei doubters on this site, and although logically i would have to agree, but I am to much of a wanderlei fan to start thinking negitevly like that.
With that said Wanderlei is going to beat Jardine quickly at the beginning of the 1st roud. The fight will look a lot like when Jardine got crushed by Houston!
I wont be wagering any money on this fight. I just cant bet against wanderlei….I just dont want to, and I admit that stylistically its a bad match up for wandy…
But wanderlei has the Ferociousness and Brutality factor
that will hopefully help him splatter Jardine all over the Octagon

John, I had the same opinion as you on the Wandi fight. However, I was able to bring myself to bet a small amount on Jardine today. Honestly, I will be rooting to lose my money during this fight.
It is VERY easy to make an arguement that Wanderlei has seen his better days (he is past his prime) and Keith Jardine is just approaching the pinnacle of his career.

And I do know that Jardine is 1 year older than Wanderlei. Although, if you add up the amount of punishment the two have taken over their careers, the totals are not even close.

Cant argue with anything you said ViolentMike, I just cant push myself to do it yet….As the fight approaches and I start seeing dollar signs, I will probably get up the courage to lay a small amount on Jardine, why not? the odds are favorable and like you I will probably end up rooting against my bet in that fight!
If Wanderlei does win, I want to see him get the next crack at Rampage after he MURDERS forrest. and why shouldnt he, the UFC keeps awarding unwarran ted title shots to anyone thats half marketable to the half ass fan, give us DIE hards an unfavorable match up. I dont care what wandy’s record is in his past 5 fights, he is a LEGEND who has beaten the Current champ twice, and badly! Rampage wants the fight, Wandy wants it, I want the fight and I am sure millions of other people want to see it again…

if jardine wins then HE should get a fight the winner of the rampage/forrest fight for the belt, NOT lyoto. why is ufc overlooking jardine?!?! i personally think if the old wandy shows up in the cage, then jardine will get murdured. but if he wins, give the man a title shot!!!

because Jardine lost to Houston….that is the only reason bro

Thats not the reason, simply Jardine isn’t marketable enough. He isn’t a poster boy or a fan favourite and thats what the UFC sells. He has wins over former UFC LHW Champ and the person getting the next title shot but he is not going to make enough money in PPV sales for UFC compared to Griffin or a Rampage v Chuck/Silva 3.

I see this one being a war of attrition, whoever comes in in the best shape will walk out the winner. We know they both can take a punch. We know they both can throw some serious leather. It’s going to be one helluva show, I see Wandi walkin away with his hand raised on this one. Late 2nd rd TKO

Or perhaps a War of Contrission… LOL @ myself.
(several days ago I said it would be a “War of Contrission” meaning to say “war of attrition”)

Seems like Wanderlei doesn’t have that crazy wild eye’d passion he used to have. He just calmly talks about putting on good shows. Where is the Wand that lost it on Mark Coleman, or jumped into the ring with Rampage and pushed him. I’d like to see that psycho back fighting.

I hope Wandi wins but the question if he wins will be who’s next after the dean of mean…..Just wondering on your guy’s feed back.

If he fights at middleweight either Henderson or Franklin. Not sure who if he stops at light heavyweight. He really shouldn’t look past Jardine, its going to be tough for him to get inside where he cant cause damage. Im still picking Silva as I think he will try to win at all costs tonight.

I have nothing against Wandi, but I have to pull for Jardine. Wandi had had his day. Jardine is a good guy. I would like to see him do well. It just seems like the UFC keeps trying to hold him down. I guess he is not marketable enough for them.

Everyone keeps saying Wandy will distroy Jardine, the same way everyone said Chuck would distroy Jardine and the same way Forrest would distroy Jardine…I am a hugh Jardine fan! seems like no one gives him any credit, it will be an uphill battle but he will do better than everyone thinks!!

Actually, most people who know what they’re talking about think Jardine will win. We’re just rooting for Wandy to smash the Troll’s face in. lol

I think wandy is more focused now on putting on a good show then he is on winning…. its great that he cares so much about his fans, but his fans want to see him win… I for one love silva, his attitude and his aggression is what makes him.. but it seems like he had that aggression against liddel, just he didn’t capitalize on it when he knocked him down, just wanted to put on a good show.. best of luck to wanderali silva.. he should be in the Hall Of Fame.. even though most of his career was in japan
