Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale card on Spike TV set to air for three hours in HD

The Ultimate Fighter 7 finale
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 Finale at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, is set to air from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET on June 21, according to a press release today.

The special three-hour broadcast will be broadcast in High Definition (HD) for this first time ever on Spike TV.

Under card bouts that have already been announced such as Spencer Fisher vs Jeremy Stephens, Jeremy Horn vs Dean Lister, Marvin Eastman vs. Drew McFedries and Josh Burkman vs Dustin Hazelett were all made official.

Of course, the middleweight showdown between Evan tanner and Kendall Grove, as well as the welterweight tilt that pits Diego Sanchez against Luigi Fioravanti, will co-headline the show.

And, remember, the two finalists from this season of TUF will hook 'em up to determine the winner of the 16-man tournament style competition.

Looks nice.

I dont know if u guys have heard but the TUF Finale will not feature many fighters from the show like the previous Finale’s have. I dont think more then 8 of this season’s fighters will be brought back…. I know Chipper is fighting at the Finale, ubt he stated that there are only going to be a handful of guys invited back…

My guess would be:
Chipper
Brown
C.B
Crueder
pretty boy
Amir

CB Dolloway and Tim Creuder will be UFC fighers for sure. I see both of them getting contracts immediatly. Pretty boy from CT? I’m rooting for him since I’m from CT, but that’s a stretch. If Matt Brown can make 170, he would be a great addition to the UFC. He looks pretty small for MW. Amir is awesome. I am a fan, as I know you are as well. Well rounded, fast learner, great attitude, has heart, what else can you ask for minus the mullett?

Awesome, I can’t F**king wait for this card!!! I hope the Evan Tanner of old comes back, that guy is the man.

WAR TANNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keys to beating Kendall Grove

1.) Get in his face
2.) Use left straight jab.

Im excited about this card, and I really hope and prey Burkman/Hazelett is on TV.

Or slam your elbow into his jaw a couple times. I just saw his fight with Joe Riggs from ROTR and it looked like Joe killed him. BTW, for $10 the ROTR box set at Best Buy if WELL woth the price, any BJ Penn fan would love it.

by Haze on May 19, 2008 2:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

How many ROTR’s come with it?? I have the goni and Gracie ROTR’s but the cards are always good so let me know how many of the other come with it. DAMN! I paid 20 bucks a piece for my two, that 40 for two, they got how many for 10?? Either way it sounds like i got screwed, but i baught mine like 2 or 3 years ago so fuck it, but still how many??

by ( (Adam G) ) on May 19, 2008 2:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Its got 5 different cards on there(including the Gomi card and Gracie card), somthing like 45 different fights! It’s pretty sweet, a lot of guys post UFC and pre UFC in their careers. But there were a lot of fights on there that I didn’t even know happened. Buy it, It’s worth it.

by Haze on May 19, 2008 3:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sounds like a “got to have” do you know how many Hallman fights it has on it, i have the two from the cards i mentioned already but is there more?? And what about Gilbert Melendez? AGAIN i have the two he fights on the Gomi/Gracie cards but does he fight on any other ROTR’s?

by ( (Adam G) ) on May 19, 2008 3:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

those are the only times those guys fight on ROTR. but you get guys like Silva, Okami, Trigg, Jake Shields, Verissamo, Hardonk, Condit, Thales Leites, Ricco Rodriguez, Kimo, Cabage and Butterbean to fill the void (to name a few). To say the least, it’s a good way for you to get your mma fix before saturdays monster card (BJ via 2nd round RNC).

Wait, how can they have it in HD if spike isn’t a HD channel? You know how they have ESPN and ESPNHD, as far as I know there isn’t a SpikeTVHD channel.

by Haze on May 19, 2008 2:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

THey do not offer Spike in HD in my area through Comcast neither.

by ViolentMike on May 19, 2008 4:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

ooo dean lister vs jeremy horn, thats pretty awesome, I love watching dean fight. Im also stoked on Fisher vs Stephens… neither of those guys are going to quit.

by Scott on May 19, 2008 2:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yes, I’ve thought about Horn and Lister before…It will not dissappoint!

by Rumbler on May 19, 2008 4:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i cant wait to see diego in action again. if and when he wins this fight, the ufc needs to step him up again. a rematch w/kos(if he wins) or the winner of swick/davis

by b.w. on May 19, 2008 2:08 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

kendall might be going for 3 knock outs in a row, lister vs horn should be an epic bjj fight, so they will probally stand the whole fight.

by roy on May 19, 2008 2:11 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol. yup you jinxed it.

by Ground-Game on May 19, 2008 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Diego is gonna put on a clinic Jun 21. Then he will finally get back in the title picture. I see him working his way to a title shot in early 09.

by PP on May 19, 2008 2:17 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I agree.

Not disrepsect to Luigi but this is a mismatch.

I predict a lot of blood

by sureal on May 19, 2008 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The evolution of Diego will be interesting, his standup is slowly getting better and after he’s been strength training for a couple of years, he should be a much stronger fighter and there will be no question that he should fight at 170 lbs and still in his 20’s.

Still time to peak at the optimum age.

Spike channel isn’t a HD channel. Will I have to order SpikeTV HD or something? Will I get a free HD channel? Anyone know?

by loui on May 19, 2008 3:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Diego is take Luigi down and pound him out in the first round. After that a rematch with Kos, then a title shot.

by PW on May 19, 2008 4:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

How is Kendal Grove in the main event? I mean I know it’s free and on SPIKE, but still, he’s been going downhill lately, should he really be headlining anything? Pretty sure if he loses, the UFC will cut him off. I know I would.

by Toms Bombs on May 19, 2008 4:43 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Him and Tanner as the headliner has perplexed me as well…Can someone please make sense of this match up for me.

by Rumbler on May 19, 2008 5:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah I didn’t even think, Tanner is coming off a loss too. At least it’s not the main event of a PPV like Lesnar. lol

by Toms Bombs on May 19, 2008 11:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

IMO…sick card. Eastman/ McFedries = slugfest
Lister/Horn = speed chess

by Ground-Game on May 19, 2008 4:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Lister/Horn should be the main event . . . I think thge UFC really wants to push Tanner on us as a contender for the 185 belt, they just want him to get a win, any win! So they can make him seem like an interesting opponent for Silva, without a W this cant happen. Fighting Grove should take care of the W lack for him lately.

by ( (Adam G) ) on May 19, 2008 5:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

As well, Horn took Silva to a decision . . . This would be a decent fight, Silva/Horn. If Horn came in in great shape!!!! But he doesnt, and he wouldnt so whatever.

by ( (Adam G) ) on May 19, 2008 5:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

glad to see its 3hrs again. more time means more televised fights. my little brain just now noticed this.

by b.w. on May 19, 2008 5:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

yeah they should stick with 3hrs ..
cause 2hrs + commercial breaks , only = 1hr&30mins.

by Sour Diesel on May 19, 2008 8:21 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I like evan tanner but that picture makes him look like a fat stinkin’ drunk!

by Fidel Cashflow on May 19, 2008 6:57 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Looks like diego will dry humps his way to victory.

by alex on May 19, 2008 9:57 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Both kendall and evan have fiberglass jaws and do nothing for the middleweight division.

by alex on May 19, 2008 9:59 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I wouldn’t say that Evan Tanner has a glass jaw (I think that’s what you mean’t, fibre glass is pretty tough material) as I do not believe he has been knocked out that many times and most fighters will go down from a knee to the head. Karo has a solid jaw and he went down although Rampage took an amzing amount of knee strikes to the head before Silva took him out. Forrest better bring a tank with him when he steps into the Octogan. Rampage is going to do what Jardine did to him.

by Ade on May 20, 2008 8:45 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i haven’t seen all of Tanners fight but i have only seen him KOed once. and it wasn’t a punch it was a slam from Tito.

by the Levi on May 20, 2008 1:45 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

def don’t agree that they do nothing for the division, but i don’t know why their headlining. it’s gonna be a freaking sick fight, and i like grove, but he’s coming off 2 ko’s not to mention his last fight he got the shit kicked out of him. And Tanner’s been gone for how long, lol then he comes back and gets knocked out. At this point i’ve come to realize the ufc’s always gonna do this kinda stuff, so as long as they put together some good fights i don’t really care.

by shinbob on May 19, 2008 10:54 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

gotta add tho it’s been a pretty sick season, and i’m gonna be pretty pumped when the finalist fight.

by shinbob on May 19, 2008 11:00 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

well i know for a fact that cale didnt win. i go to the hardcore gym here in athens i dont know who beat him but hes out

by tapps on May 20, 2008 12:20 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Spoiler!! ha, like anyone thought he’d win anyways

by ufcmn89 on May 20, 2008 9:00 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think the loser of this fight could be cut from the roster

by braveheart on May 20, 2008 4:52 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

pretty solid card for free on spike. if Grove gets lucky and beats Tanner . i sure hope that Tanner doesn’t get cut.

by the Levi on May 20, 2008 1:49 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

At the end of tonight’s episode of TUF, Dana says that two fighters are out of the finals and out of the UFC! It had something to do with an incident in a limo, I think. Anyone from Vegas here? Does anyone know who the fighters are and what happened?
