If Irvin wins this he is instantly put into title contention and if silva wins hes one step closer to immortality…
Maybe silva vs liddell by new years is a possibility..

You think silva deserves a title shot after one lhw battle… are you one of those premature ejaculators.

That was funny, ain’t gonna lie. And I agree also. I’m Silva’s number one fan, he’s my favorite fighter of all time, but giving him a shot at Griffin after one fight is a little heinous. Let him go through so more established Lightheavys like Liddel, Evans, or Hammil.
I would’ve loved to see him go against Michael Bisping, because I love both of them, but apparently they switched weight classes or something.

great card set up by the ufc…probably wont be enough to take away from the affliction event but was a good try though

This is looking decent so far. No where near what Affliction is putting out, but its 50 bucks cheaper and times are tough. Plus last time Anderson Silva fought on free tv it was one of the most brutal beatdowns I’ve ever seen. There will be a lot of fans that have no idea who Fedor is and will be drooling to see Silva fight for free. Very smart move from the UFC. Plus Hermes Franca vs. Frankie Edgar adds all kinds of credibility to this card. Thats a great fight right there. And hopefully Vera can be dominate at 205 like I think he can. His opponent looks decent, but Vera is supposed to be world class. I hope he shows it in this fight.

I love to see the UFC and Affliction fighting for the MMA audience. I will be recording both events on my DVR while I flip back and forth between the two programs that night.

Scratching my head at this point…Why Vera at 205? and why Silva at 205 against a HUGE 205’er in Irvin? (for free nonetheless?) He could put a serious dent in Silva’s head.
Dana is taking some chances here, and as a fan I really can’t complain. Silva and Vera for free!!! God bless America.

Silva is going to destroy Irvin. Rampage could not finish Dan Henderson but the Spider finished him with relative ease.
Nobody wants to see Anderson at 185. I honestly think that ANYBODY at 205 is in big trouble against that guy. How do you beat him?
Also, with the exception of Fedor, the Affliction card is way overrated. They are throwing every big name (supposed big name) at one event. Sylvia is horribly boring. I hope Fedor pounds him real good.

Great fight card… if irvin beats anderson… he can do it 185 to receive an inmediate title shot???

Matt Hamill? I want to see him beat Shogun or a big name.. Cause he did beat Bisping!

Regardless…it’s gonna be a rough night for Irvin.

I don’t think that Irvin’s muay thai is sick.

Thats what I was thinking. Has to be a noobie.

Don’t forget, Irvin used to be a HW. A win will definetly earn him a title shot in MW or LHW. UTC Rocks Roseville!!!!!

I calculate that once this card has been completed
that it will be better than the worst of the UFC PPVs.
For instance Tito VS Ken 2 PPV.
1st Fight of A. Silva @ 205 (no cut involved)
Vera @ 205 Finally (great win?)
Hermes is back
A few other interesting fights added later?

man anderson is impeckable but damn 1 fight at 185 and you think he should get a title fight…i think he should have atleast 2 or 3 fights at 185 before they give him a chance…but well see what that jackass joe silva comes up with
by Claydo on Jun 23, 2008 9:57 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
