Adrenaline MMA card set for inaugural event at Sears Centre in Chicago on June 14

Adrenaline MMA

Adrenaline MMA officially announced its debut event, which takes place at the Sears Centre in Chicago, Ill., on June 14, featuring the heavyweight showdown between former UFC number contender, Jeff Monson, and relatively unknown but talented local product, Mike Russow.

According to the press release, 12 other bouts are slated for the show that will feature some familiar names and faces.

Here’s the rest of the card:

Terry Martin vs. Daiju Takase
Brian Gassaway vs. Tony Fryklund
Alberto Crane vs. Clay French
Jeff Cox vs. Bart Palaszewski
Taiwon Howard vs. Rory Markham
Jame Giboo vs. Mark Miller
Herc Hayes vs. Kerry Schall
Rob Kimmons vs. Hector Urbina
Aaron Rosa vs. Ron Fields
Dom O'Grady vs. Mike Stumpf
Joe Jordan vs. Ryan Williams
Christian Reynosa vs. John Hosman

Not bad at all for an inaugural event. And that more than likely has much to do with longtime MMA manager and Adrenaline MMA CEO, Monte Cox.

He and others started the promotion after M-1 Global collapsed without ever staging an event, enlisting the services of former UFC heavyweight champion ,Tim Sylvia, and undefeated IFL star, Ben Rothwell, to anchor the organization.

In addition, it appears that Adrenaline MMA is in cooperation with the IFL -- Bart Palaszewski, Mark Miller and Zac George were all granted permission to compete on the card. And, according to the release, EliteXC provided striker Aaron Rosa and all-around standout Hector Urbina.

Sylvia and Rothwell, on the other hand, will be loaned out to other organizations such as the new Affliction upstart brand. In fact, "The Maine-iac" is expected to fight the last man to hold the Pride FC heavyweight title, Fedor Emelianenko, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on July 19.

It’s apparently all about sharing.

Doors for the first ever Adrenaline MMA event will open at 5:30 p.m. ET and fights are set to begin at 6 p.m. ET. To purchase tickets click here or call (888)-SEARSTIX.

Off subject, the undisputed cruiserweight world boxing champ is serious about getting into MMA (unlike other rumoured boxers). He has gone on record and got into a lot of trouble from his promoters about it.

He is a classy boxer with big power and a natural athlete with a basic martial arts background… if Marcus Davis can do it David Haye can.

Never gonna happen. Haye has too much money to make in the Heavy Weight division when he moves up. He will clean the Heavy weight division out AND MAKE MILLIONS DOING IT. EASY.

Haye likes his face on the TV too much and was just trying to get some attention.

not bad, but not great either. i wont watch it either unless some great fights come out of it and pop up on the net. it doesnt even say how to watch it. ppv, hd-net? i dont see them selling out the sears center w/ this card unless the tickets are dirt cheap.

you were right w/ your info on this event though. monson and barnett are both fighting 2 fights in 2 months. i dont know much about russow(except being a chicago policeman) so i think barnett has the harder go of the 2.

I was thinkin’ the same as well, not a bad card for 1st event, if it was local I’d watch it, but not on PAY PER VIEW for over 19.99.

When did Terry Martin ever have a belt? Was he in TNA wrestling at some point or somwthing?

i know he just had a boxing match and won recently, but not foe a championship. that does look like a wrestling belt, but it was probably for some minor mma org. damn some of you guys really pay attention to the fight posters.

FYI :

I live in the city.

Sears Centre is not located in Chicago. Its in a burb thats about 30 – 45 minutes from Chicago.

The card is not worth the drive, folks.

It’s James Giboo, not Jame Gibo. I know, I know… Adrenaline even has it wrong on their site. Feel free to correct it!

“According to the press release, 12 other bouts are slated for the show that will feature some familiar names and faces”

there are some familiar faces on the card indeed, although if alberto crane continues to fight the way he has in the past, his face won’t be that familiar anymore…

Rob Kimmons and Mike Russow are two bad ass fighters, but the event doesn’t seems so great.

I love how all these new MMA promotions keep popping up. Its only making it easier for the UFC to control the MMA world. All these promotions are just cancelling each other out keeping one another from growing. their are not enough star fighters to carry all these companies each has 1 or 2 stars thats it. Not even Kimbo has made Elite XC any money they reported losses 2 years in a row of over 20 million. Guys like Tim and Randy will crying to get back to the UFC eventually because all do these companies are offering big money they wont be able to sustain that kind of pay with the brand they are selling. M-1 couldn’t handle it and many others wont either. The UFC sells a brand like the NFL or NBA. In order to sell fighters you need to be like boxing and MMA is not. So good luck to all those other companies they are gonna need it. One more thing if a fighter wants to be remembered they will come to the UFC, unless Fedor joins the UFC eventually, he will be forgotten also 10 years from now only the real hardcore fans will remember him.
