bisping is gunna finish leben off 2 round why dont anyone like him cause hes engligh

by bisping_rules on May 8, 2008 10:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Speaking of English, yours needs work. His nationality has nothing to do with it. He is being sheltered by the UFC and not given any big names to fight (his two biggest names were Evans and Hammill, neither a top 10). Secondly, his attitude after the Hammill fight made it really easy to see him as a d#ck. Granted, he doesn’t seem disrespectful anymore, but I personally hate ANY superhyped fighter that hasn’t beaten ANYONE to deserve the hype (part of this is the UFC’s fault). I would admire Bisping if he started calling out some people higher up on the ladder than him.

sick poster for a sick card!! RESPECT!

by tripleainto on May 7, 2008 10:38 PM EDT reply actions

fuck somebody knock bisping out already.

by KillVicious on May 7, 2008 10:43 PM EDT reply actions

I’m with you.

Leben is just the man to do that.

by Cool Hand Chad on May 7, 2008 11:15 PM EDT up reply actions

currently leben is in jail and he is not known for his cardio as i have not seen him in a fight where he hasnt gassed and throw in that he is in jail and not training he better hope this fight doesnt make it out of the first two minutes if he hopes to win

by matt on May 8, 2008 10:34 AM EDT up reply actions

I’m not a Leben fan but I HATE Bizzbing…. GO LEBEN!! I actually can’t even pick a winner. One can only hope they are right for this one.

by DJ on May 8, 2008 6:29 AM EDT up reply actions

I am a Leben fan, and hope he knocks Bisping out. But if he sits in jail 1-2 weeks (while overweight) is a little worrisome. I’d hate to tell Tony on here that his boy Bisping deserves ANY respect, which I promised I’d do if the count won.

by chefdaddy on May 8, 2008 7:58 AM EDT up reply actions

I’m actually a fan of both these guys. Even Bisping. Bisping hasn’t had his chin tested yet, but Leben will take care of that. Bisping is faster and will be able to land some combinations, but he doesn’t have nearly enough power to do any real damage to The Crippler. Leben will absorb 3 or 4 punches from Bisping to land one of his bombs. Leben gets the TKO in round 2.

by PW on May 8, 2008 10:06 AM EDT up reply actions

They could have tried to fit in Davis and Swick and shown the entire damn card on that sheet.

by tripleainto on May 7, 2008 10:46 PM EDT reply actions

Off topic Mania, but do you have any idea of the status of Ricardo Arona. I can’t help but think that he might be a decent addition to the UFC right now.

by Dumas on May 7, 2008 11:08 PM EDT reply actions

I Cant wait for this event! It’s gonna be soooo sick!

by matthew on May 7, 2008 11:19 PM EDT reply actions

BEDLAM?! lol. UFC 86 brain fart.

by Fidel Cashflow on May 7, 2008 11:28 PM EDT reply actions

This is one stacked card _ I CAN NOT WAIT.

by DownUnder on May 7, 2008 11:30 PM EDT reply actions

I thought it was gonna be on spike?

by pUniSHment on May 7, 2008 11:50 PM EDT reply actions

I don’t mind paying for this one. They made up for losing Chuck, and he was just gonna kill Evans anyway.

by naturalshadow on May 8, 2008 12:43 AM EDT up reply actions

Good shout. Chuck was a huge loss (there were advertising the event over here before they even named his opponent! Everyone bought there tickets as soon as they seen ‘Chuck comes to London’)but, the UFC have done well in making up for the loss!

by UKMMA on May 8, 2008 4:54 AM EDT up reply actions

What the hell is bedlam?

by RK on May 7, 2008 11:53 PM EDT reply actions

Bedlam basically means a mad house!

by braveheart on May 8, 2008 6:40 AM EDT up reply actions

–noun
1. a scene or state of wild uproar and confusion.
2. Archaic. an insane asylum or madhouse.

by Fidel Cashflow on May 8, 2008 9:42 AM EDT up reply actions

someone’s been on dictionary.com lol

by braveheart on May 8, 2008 12:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Solid poster. Nice and clean layout. I hate it when there’s too much unneeded graphics on a poster.

by Pat on May 8, 2008 12:09 AM EDT reply actions

I hope the real matt hughes shows up and fights for once, all in all this is not that bad of a card.

by ORTIZ!!!!!!08....BABY! on May 8, 2008 12:12 AM EDT reply actions

Matt Hughes vs. Thiago Alves
        Michael Bisping vs. Chris Leben
        Brandon Vera vs. Fabricio Werdum
        Rashad Evans vs. James Irvin
        Marcus Davis vs. Mike Swick

        Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites
        Thiago Tavares vs. Matt Wiman
        Martin Kampmann vs. Jorge Rivera
        Ryo Chonan vs. Roan Carneiro
        Luis Cane vs. Jason Lambert
        Jess Liaudin vs. Paul Taylor
        Paul Kelly vs. Jonathan Goulet
        Neil Wain vs. Antoni Hardonk

I can’t wait for this one. There are a lot of great matches. Any of these could be fight of the night: Marquardt vs. Leites, Kampmann vs. Rivera, Bisping vs. Leben, Tavares vs. Wiman.

Plus we get to see the debut of Neil Wain and the return of Luis Cane. Hopefully Cane won’t get himself DQ’d

by sbud on May 8, 2008 12:13 AM EDT reply actions

did any one else notice that on the 3 bottom fights, that each match has 1 picture behind the 2 fighters.
Rashad – Vera – Bisping all have a 2nd picture in the background. that’s kinda funny because i am going for all the opponents of those guys.

the CRIPPLER by KO
the SANDMAN by KO
Werdom by sub I hope or the TRUTH by KO as long as it doesn’t go the distance.

by the Levi on May 8, 2008 12:30 AM EDT reply actions

Well thats kinda funny because your wrong with each pick

by Nick J on May 8, 2008 12:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Damn this turned out to be abetter card than the original…. And thank god we dont have to watch rashad vs liddel… we can still watch rashad get knocked and get chuck a better fight.

by mike22 on May 8, 2008 1:18 AM EDT reply actions

Chris lebens look is hillarious …. You know the one, you see it before every fight… just look at the poster… its classic!

by mike22 on May 8, 2008 1:21 AM EDT reply actions

I noticed that too. I couldn’t stop laughing. Its the look that says, your gonna regret fighting me. Leben by KO. Hughes by Kimura. Vera by decision lol.

by Smokes on May 8, 2008 11:07 AM EDT up reply actions

this card suck ass, should be free

by HOWaiianTapOut on May 8, 2008 3:46 AM EDT reply actions

Completely disagree. Promises to be a night of great fights!

by chefdaddy on May 8, 2008 8:00 AM EDT up reply actions

disagree aswell! take a look at the ufc 83 card but take out the main event! that was a fight night card at best! Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites, Martin Kampmann vs. Jorge Rivera and Thiago Tavares vs. Matt Wiman all on the undercard! This card is stacked!

by braveheart on May 8, 2008 9:03 AM EDT up reply actions

disagree that it doesnt suck ass, but do agree the it should be free. no title fights and its on in the afternoon. i dont see big ppv numbers for this event, but it will be exciting to watch, you never really know untill its over anyway. i remember stacked was supposed to begreat, but was just okay.

by b.w. on May 8, 2008 9:48 AM EDT up reply actions

Definetly should be free I heard rumors that it was PPV but would later be playing on Spike maybe Sunday… again just rumors and on the poster it shows a regular playing time of about 8pm. B.W. where did you see it was on in the noon?

by Smokes on May 8, 2008 11:10 AM EDT up reply actions

its in england, so different time zones. ufc ireland was the same way at 3 pm central and no title match. it was rich vs okami(supposed to be kampann before he got hurt). and the last one in england was free but was on tape delay. tape delay wont work for ppv. may bee their will be enough pressure to show it free. hughes vs alves is not a big enough of a fight to headline a ppv imo.

by b.w. on May 8, 2008 3:43 PM EDT up reply actions

Definetly agree man, thanks for the info. IMO I think they should have done another Hughes-Franklin promotion. It would be worthy of PPV but I think Franklin had an injury when he was asked to fight.

by Smokes on May 8, 2008 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

If you notice, the guys the UFC wants to win are shown behind each of the match-ups. Evans, Vera and Bisping.

by Sam Cupitt on May 8, 2008 3:50 AM EDT reply actions

Is this like the "Grassy Knoll" theory? Are you saying these fights maybe fixed? If the UFC is really picking those fighters and these fighters win that night then we’ll all have something to talk about. I hope this poster and those background pictures don’t affect the odds.

by mac daddy on May 8, 2008 9:00 AM EDT up reply actions

I noticed that too. Although, I think they’re simply showing pics of the bigger named (more well known) fighters. While it could be argued that Evans and Bisping are not really more well known, they ARE the winners of TUF.

by Jason on May 8, 2008 9:32 AM EDT up reply actions

bisping is in front!

by b.w. on May 8, 2008 9:50 AM EDT up reply actions

No shit! We’re talking about the ghosted image behind the fighters. The action shots taken from one of their fights…

by JRK on May 8, 2008 10:28 AM EDT up reply actions

whos WE’RE? i dont even see your name on this post. no shit!i didnt bother to examine the poster that closely. why would you.

by b.w. on May 8, 2008 11:01 AM EDT up reply actions

I’m listed above as “Jason”. Don’t know why, but my name keeps defaulting back, sometimes I forget to change it.

Sorry, no disrespect intended, just as a graphic designer I always check out these little details in advertising images.

by JRK on May 8, 2008 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions

okay. no biggie. i agree w/your statement as jason. but i dont think there is any special meaning or conspiracy like oohh we want this guy to win and oohhh we want this guy to lose like some of the bloggers on here(not you). peace!

by b.w. on May 8, 2008 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions

My Predictions for this card are

Swick TKO Round 1
Evans UD
Vera UD
Bisping TKO round 2
Hughes UD

by braveheart on May 8, 2008 6:46 AM EDT reply actions

I deffo agree with Braveheart not sure about the round 1 for Swick tho, and an earlier defeat for Hughes prob second round.

by Wayne Lamb on May 8, 2008 7:38 AM EDT up reply actions

Don’t you mean Bisping getting knocked out in round 2? He in no way shape or form has the power to knock out Leben unless he smuggles in a baseball bat (or cricket bat).

by chefdaddy on May 8, 2008 8:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Leben will only have 3 weeks hard training for the Bisping fight! Terry Martin and Sakara are not on the same level as Bisping!

Prediction: Leben will gas after the 1st round and a fresh Bisping to take advantage.

by braveheart on May 8, 2008 8:58 AM EDT up reply actions

Come on Bisping!

by UTD on May 8, 2008 8:04 AM EDT reply actions

sweet poster can’t wait there some good fights

by bryant on May 8, 2008 8:28 AM EDT reply actions

Alves – TKO
Irvin – KO
Werdum – Sub
Bisping – Late TKO or UD.

WAR BISPING.

by UKmmaBOY on May 8, 2008 8:36 AM EDT reply actions

Im not excited really about this card. I don’t like the Hughes/Alves match-up in all honesty. I also dont like Vera/Werdum either because Fabricio is a boring fighter, and I can see this being a Vera/Tim 2 match, but since Fabricio is not as big the pace could possibly be pushed more.

But I am rooting for my boy Marcus in this fight.

by "Mr. NC-17" on May 8, 2008 8:58 AM EDT reply actions

Definately like the poster. They must have someone new doing the design. Now if they can just overhaul their TV graphics too.

by A Lynch on May 8, 2008 9:04 AM EDT reply actions

A lot of respect for Hughes for taking this fight.

by jd on May 8, 2008 9:49 AM EDT reply actions

Totally agree! Hughes is a gamer! he could have sat out when Serra got injured but decided he wanted a chance to avenge his loss against St Pierre.

by braveheart on May 8, 2008 12:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Only on PPV… son of a bitch

by Smokes on May 8, 2008 10:58 AM EDT reply actions

Good card, every fight has fighters that are hungry for a title shot and on the rise. Should be some good highlights

by DirtbagHtr on May 8, 2008 11:44 AM EDT reply actions

If Alves beats Hughes he;ll probably sit it out and wait for the winner of GSP v Fitch.

Vera v Verdum could very well be for the number 1 contender spot with the Heavyweight division so weak.

Evans v Irvin. If Irvin wins i think he’ll get the winner of Jardine v Silva. and if Evans wins he could fight Thiago Silva or Wanderlei Silva if he beats Jardine

NOTE: Evans v Jardine will not happen because they are training partners

by braveheart on May 8, 2008 12:32 PM EDT reply actions

gyeaa! scrappy vera, leben & alves all day!! gaurentee at least 1 of them is going to damage somebody. sick card. i like it.

by kama kaze on May 8, 2008 1:46 PM EDT reply actions

No fun to hear that Leben is out but for everyone it’s for the better.

This card is solid.
