If I were going to fight Slice I’d make him shave that beard. Sean O’Grady talked about fighters with big beards on Tuersday Night Fights. He said it can actually help reduce the amount of force on a punch.

gary shaw has already stated that as soon as kimbo makes his name in mma, he will switch him to boxing. so we’ll probably never see him against a relavent mma fighter. w/kimbo being on the cover of espnthe magazine, the switch will probably happen real soon.

Kimbo was only successful at Street fighting because it was stand up only. Kimbo’s chronies were crying at Gannon throwing a couple of knees lol.

I’ve watched alot of Kimbo’s Youtube fights to see what all the hype was.

I wasn’t impressed. He fought some unfit guys, fat guys, long haired guys that couldn’t see a punch coming and guys that are all of the above.

Gannon was the only guy with stamina, which was all that was needed to win.

It amazes me at why so many people hate on Kimbo. The guy did what was best for his life. Hew was making some decent money in those back yard brawl. Is it Mino’s fault that so many idiots became a fan of his because of those fights? NO. Laugh at those fights all you want, but they got him where he is today….Headlining the first ever CBS mma card. The guy used what he could to make a life for himself. He has taken mma and his training serious. For the most part he has been respectful (except for when hyping up a fight). At least he is a REAL Fighter, which is more then I can say about a couple big mma stars like Tito.

Kimbo is still working his way up. Although his mma opponents were cans, he did what any fighter starting out in mma has done, worked his way up from the bottom (and he is still doing that). Although he has fought Cans, each opponent he has fought in mma was better than his last opponent so whats there to complain about? Thompson is a big dude, with a lot of mma experience ion the big stage. He has a win over the Great Yoshida. I have no problem with this fight and it will be the 1st Kimbo fight that I actually am looking forward to seeing. Its not his fault that so many idiots in this country are HUGE fans of him, which is what is causing him to be the main event of many ELITEXC events. Just like Brock was the co main event of the biggest event of the year(superbowl weekend)… The decisions to make Brock and Kimbo headline cards when all the die hards no they arent worthy isnt the UFC’s fault, its the stupid ass American fans.

If so many people werent facinated by him, he wouldnt be sold as a main event. EliteXC is doing the most they can with the little they have to work with. I think its more of a sham, that the UFC put Brock in the co main event, than ELITEXC using Kimbo as a main event. EliteXC doesnt have much Depth or big money draws to compete with the UFC, so I have no problem with them trying to do what they can with what they have (Kimbo).

Whats the UFC’s excuse? They are the most dominant mma organization in the world with tons of Depth in most divisions. They could have put together a million more deserving main events than Brock vs. Mir. All that accomplished was getting Brock a quick loss.

As for Kimbo being Knocked out in sparring….Who the hell cares? Why is this news? Top fighters get KO’ed in training everyday. If you arent getting knocked out occasionally, then you arent training. Fighters training at Chute Box get knocked out every day. So Kimbo got KNocked out…who the F cares. Its not like he got KO’ed from one of Forrest’s powerless punches. If it did happen, it happened because of a Kick to the head. Of many people in the world do you guys know that can take a shin to the face and not get KO? This is just stupid. People making a whole lot out of nothing.

I believe it was Yoko Couture who started this stupid rumor. Even if it is true, who the hell cares? What do you people think happens in mma training? Pitty pat?

Howie, I appreciate your ability to be able to predict without any bias feelings, seeing that your mma knowledge is so much better than the likes of Bas Rutten. Plus you being able to see the future ability of a fighter yet, probably not knowing anything about his present state nor his training regime, but when guys like you speak we should definitely listen. By the way for everyones benefit its a double standard for you to run your mouth about Kimbo, yet tell him he should shut up. Don’t say I’m a fan I can say whatever, he’s a fighter and can say whatever. To me I think it’s real funny when you guys say Gary Shaw should not promote Kimbo this way, thats the exact reason that none of you have any idea about promoting, you see you spend as much time talking about Kimbo as you do any other fighter now thats real funny. It’s also real funny that Shaw is wrong for promoting Kimbo because he’s known, but Dana was right for promoting Lesnar as though he is the next best thing to fried ham. Dude, Kimbo knows he’s a noob. But the guy has heart and balls that all of you wish you had, and will not back down from any man, win or lose. He knows Chuck is better that him. If it was up to him, he will take any fight, even one that he KNOWS he’ll lose. But he’s listening to his handlers and doing what’s best for his family financially. Would any of you internet warriors face a guy you know would beat you? Even those that train, they’d most likely prefer to fight guys on their level.

They weren’t truly street fights, you’re right. In real street fights, people get killed. I know because a non-blood related relative got killed in a street fight.

So, you’re right. In real street fights there are no rules. I think most reasonable people, though, believe some level of rules are required in all types of fights.

Many entry level pro fighters that show promise and are marketable are usually only given “gimme fights” until they’ve been groomed enough. Another example is Bisping who’s first 3 fights in the UFC were “gimme fights.” And he even had like 10 pro fights at the time.

Granted, people like Josh Haynes and Elvis Sinosic aren’t as bad as Tank but Bisping already had 10 pro fights whereas Kimbo only had 1 going in against Tank.

My point is, Kimbo’s career is just beginning. It’s unreasonable to expect him to take on anybody in the top 10 yet.

I work out at xyience/warrior gym and thats where Forrest does his Muay Thai and Boxing. Everyone at the gym was saying that it IS true that he got knocked out! I dont believe a word of this shit Kimbo is saying…I think he is just upset that it got out. Im sorry but a whole gym of guys arent going to lie about this shit. Im sorry but I totally agree that Kimbo is just a joke…he’s just another form of B.Lesnar that has been marketed better. I think EliteXC did a better job of marketing this guy but the truth still stands that he cant really fight in MMA.

Right. Dana White is just taking the opportunity to bash the competition, as always. And Kimbo called him a pussy for it. Dana used to claim to be a big fan of MMA but now its obvious that he is only a fan of HIS fighters. Whats wrong with just being confident in your organization (especially because its obviously number 1, and will be for a long time) instead of acting like an insecure 18 year old jock, and putting down the poor kids that ride the short bus. I began to lose respect for Dana when he aired that B.S. show on spike a while back about his charity boxing match with Tito, had me sit through it for an hour and a half, all the while thinking they would show the fight at the end, and then not delivering. He could have just written a letter or put it on the internet, instead of getting all the ratings and money that came with it. I have pretty much no respect left for him, and I think I understand why he’s such good friends with a total pice of sh*t like Ken Shamrock.
