Was actually surprised to see this segment of WEC Light Heavyweight Champion Brian Stann on CNN while I was visiting someone in the hospital this weekend:

Suprised CNN did this story….Even Brian hiself said it. They usually throw a left wing spin on anything involving the war..or the men who fight in it. Good on them,….finally…

Anyways..great to see a real warrior doing well in MMA…

Yeah, kind of suprising to see something on CNN about Iraq that isn’t presented in negative way.

I still hate CNN.

Fair enough….but now please proceed to explain the positive way…?? Is there one?

And before you say that an evil Tirant has been removed (Sadaam) and all that propaganda talk (WMD’s…what a joke), I could let a few of the Iraqi’s i know personally talk to you about how negetive it has been for them!

While on the subject…I feel sorry for all the troops that are still in that country, good luck to them for a quick journey home!

UFC.COM REPORTS ….
Las Vegas, NV (USA) – On Saturday, June 7th, welterweight legend Matt Hughes begins his quest for an unprecedented third 170-pound UFC® crown when he battles Brazilian banger Thiago "Pitbull" Alves in the main event of UFC 85, which will be held at the O2 Arena in London, England.

"Obviously Chuck Liddell’s injury was a big blow, but as always our incredible fighters step up to give fans the best possible replacement," said Dana White, UFC President. "Now we will see an explosive matchup between top ten ranked contender Thiago "Pitbull" Alves and two time former UFC World Champion Matt Hughes. Alves is an ATT trained Muay Thai wrecking machine coming off of five straight wins and Hughes is a powerhouse wrestler who was the most dominant welterweight champion in UFC history. These are two of the best athletes in the sport and we are thrilled to bring them to London for the UFC 85 main event."

What a great person to have speaking to the media about this sport! And he’s a pretty exciting fighter!

Glad to see soldiers getting love. I hate this damn unnecessary war, but glad to see the soldiers not being lost in all the mayhem. Great piece. You can always count on cnn.

Agreed. The war in Afghanistan was justifies after 9-11, but the idea to attack Iraq was right up there with Vietnam. Still, it’s hard not to appreciate the service that people like him do for our country. That makes me even more angry when our leaders ask brave soldiers to fight in unnecessary wars, then don’t provide them with adequate physical and mental rehabilitation, after serving their country. Total BS. The mma community couldn’t ask for better spokes people than military heroes.

What a great rep for the sport of MMA. I bet a guy like this won’t complain about his contract or put on a bad show because he gases after the 1st round. Bring him to the UFC and mess up some of these so called super stars!!
