No pun intended. There's also some good background on his chemical dependency:

Can’t wait to hear all the compassionate, understanding individuals here on mmamania share their thoughts…

TODAY is indeed a sad, sad, day for MMA. The sport lost one of its greatest stars. Charles “Tupperware” McCarthy has retired from competing in MMA.
I can only hope that my nickname for him sticks as he takes on his next venture in life…

Anyone else predicting a Sonnen Broken Arm in this one?

I am very understanding about Paulo. He revealed the facts, he was honest and he deserves a second chance. Sonnen his going to hear his elbow go snap crackle and pop!
Cant wait ot see Paulo regain his PRIDE form!

abrupt coldturkey withdrawl symptoms is a bitch. Sonnen better tap next time if he likes having arms.

Please if Filho went threw a drug program this is the fastest one ever heard of, as soon as that WEC event was over he wasn’t a day or two out and well. Give me a break, he is fat and lazy and is well over weight now. This guy is a joke, and Sonnen is going to school him. Bye Paulo “fatso” Filho.

It sounds like he’s making excuses. He did himself wrong by doing drugs, and he did rehab for it. That’s all good and fine. I think he should have been stripped. If their last fight was any indication on how Filho will perform without drugs in his system, then we’ll be seeing a new champ. One would wonder what the result of all his previous fights would be had he not been on drugs. Sonnen isn’t going to go to the ground with Filho. Sonnen isn’t going to get caught in anything Filho could use against him, this time around.

Sonnen Should stick to selling real estate. More money to be made dude!! If you can’t stop a drug using fat lazy ass like everyone says Filho is, then he who can not beat the man should stick to what he knows best.

I for one am impressed by this video. Fihlo and GSP have both spoken very candidly about issues of mental health. Fihlo has shared his story of depression, and GSP has described his therapy with a sports psychologist. In a world in which mental disease still carries with it a great stigma, it’s nice to see these professional athletes speaking out. You don’t here about football or basketball players sharing this kind of stuff. I think it’s good for the sport and good for everybody watching.

it reminds me of UFC 1. When Ken Shamrock tapped to Gracie and Gracie let him go, but the ref hadn’t seen it at first there was a little contraversy. In the final fight when Gracie secured the rear naked choke, Gordeau was tapping his arm, the floor with both hands and Gracie didn’t let him go then the ref finally pulled him off. I think if Filho gets Sonnen in any type of hold, he’s going to try to break something.
