Razor Rob McCullough vs. Kenneth Alexander WEC 34 fight slated

Former WEC lightweight champion Razor Rob McCullough is set to get back on the road to reclaim his 155-pound title, beginning with Kenneth Alexander at WEC 34: "Faber vs. Pulver" at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif, on June 1.
McCullough is looking to rebound after losing his WEC lightweight strap to Jamie Varner his last time out at WEC 32. He will take on a decorated wrestler in Alexander.
Both men are coming off losses; therefore, the last man standing will take the first step in getting back into title contention.
In addition, Jeff Curran will also be on the lookout for redemption on the star studded card against American Top Team-trained fighter Mike Brown. This will mark the first fight for Curran since his loss to featherweight champion Urijah Faber via guillotine choke at WEC 31.
Brown -- who is making his WEC debut -- has a tall task ahead of him, taking on a very experienced fighter in Curran.
This is a very stacked card and the biggest event in the history of the promotion. Faber will tangle with former UFC lightweight champion in the main event, and gifted bantamweight champion, Miguel Torres, will defend his 135-pound belt against Yoshiro Maeda.
It's shaping up to be a great night of mixed martial arts action and the best part is it's FREE on Versus.
Check out the most recent WEC 34 card after the jump:

WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres vs. Yoshiro Maeda

I would really like to see Miguel fight Din THomas now that din is dropping down a weight class.
Also, I hear that the UFC will soon be bringing all the WEC fighters from middleweight- heavyweight into the UFC and keep the WEC for the lower weight classes

Yeah man he is. Too bad Tapia is out. That would have been a sick fight. The only thing bad about Torres is that f*ucked up haircut.

That’s only two weight classes, MW and LHW. WEC doesn’t have HW. I don’t think Rhino or Stann, as much as I like him, would fare particularly well in the UFC LHW division. And of the 185s, Filho has not come close to living up to all the expectations he had when he came over here, and Chael Sonnen is 1-2 in the UFC. Since Filho and A. Silva won’t fight each other, there is no reason for him to be in UFC anyway.

I would like to see the rematch with he and Varner. Not trying to take anything away from Varner, but that whole “time out” thing was just ridiculous. To me that was an interruption. Not a big one, but none the less, still one for sure.

yeah, but Rob wasn’t really effective in that fight til he landed that shot that caused the timeout, Razor just didn’t look good that night, he’s better than that. I think if there’s a rematch, we’ll see a different outcome, not taking anything away from Varner, he impressed me, but I think Razor will take it next time.

Rob was looking pretty gassed though at that point. If anything the ref did him a favor by giving him a breather.

With the WEC’s heavier divisions most likely getting folded into the UFC, it will be interesting to see how many fights they can still put on the cards with just the 145 and 135 lb divisions. It kind of makes me wonder what is the point… just having two divisions. It will be a shame if that happens because MMA fans will miss the free televised events on Versus. It doesn’t look like they are going to have Pride vs. UFC or WEC vs. UFC… just UFC vs. UFC.

Former champ right? Why have a pic of him with the strap then?

Razor Rob is going to walk through him.

Dude, Razor never calls time out, ever, and thats probably why there is a pic of him still with the belt. His resistance to pain dwarfs the rest. You have to knock him out, or else he’s in the game. He really is a true champ. One the kids can look up to as well.
