Ooo…. this is interesting. Frankie Edgar vs. TBA Sherk will probably be looking to fight at home and wants to work his way back towards the title again. That would be a top match-up of LWs.

What happens now in the light heavyweight division? I think Thiago Silva and Manchida should fight because they are both unbeaten or Manchida vd Rashad Evans. If Rampage loses to Griffin he should fight Wanderlie again because those two always put on a great fight. I see Chuck vs Shogun in the future. Matt Hamil is ready for a big fight why not throw him at one of the unbeatens? Who do you think will get the next title shot?

I agree with hatteras – I think Thaigo Silva v. Machida would make a GREAT # 1 contender fight at 205. I think GSP is going to hospitalize the over-hyped Fitch, look for Lesnar to stop Herring in round 1, and I’m going with Florian over Huerta, probably U. Decision. Plus I think I’m taking bouth Congo & Guids via Decision and Maia via Submission.

Machida should get the title shot following the Griffin vs Jackson fight. True, Thiago Silva has looked great, but he hasn’t fought the level of compition that Machida has and the timing isn’t right for #1 contender match. Machida should fight for the title around UFC 90.
PS: Does anyone else want to see Demian Maia vs Rousimar Palhares? It would be a great match of top level Jui-jitsu guys

1. Lesner via TKO. Herring has no takedown defence and he won’t be able to role someone with as good of a wrestler’s base that Lesner has.
2. Kenny Florian via Decision. Aside form athletisism and explosiveness Huerta has no advantages in this fight. Florian has more experiance against top level compitition, he has better striking and jui-jitsu, and in my opinion a bigger heart.
3. GSP via TKO. GSP has almost every edge in this fight. He’s bigger, more athletic, slightly stronger, better striking, better wrestling, and a little better cardio. Both guys have increadable momentum and the heart of a chanpion. I imagine this fight being a war with great scrambling. I think fitch will give St. Pierre some big problems throught the fight, but I see GSP overcoming them and eventually overwelming Fitch.
4. Guida via Decision. I love this fight! I have no doubt that it will be fight of the night. Both guys are explosive and exciting. I think it will come down to cardio and who’s on top more. Guida will almost undoubtably win thos catagories. However Mac Danzig has great submissions and has the chance to catch Guida. In the end I think Guida’s pace and wrestling ability will be to much for Danzig.
5. Maia via Submission. Be prepared for another Submission of the Night for Maia. McDonald is a good fighter with good Jui-jitsu, but Maia’s jui-jitsu is on another level. On the feet I think McDonald has a slight advantage, but I think this fight will be decided on the mat, and Maia’s jui-jitsu will be too much for “the athlete”

Point 1. I agree with about the Lesner win; however Herring looked OK on the ground against Minotauro – nothing Earth shattering at all but he escaped from a couple bad situations. However, Lesner looks like a whole different animal and alot stronger.
Point 3. I agree with about GSP win but I don’t think he is a better wrestler than Fitch.
Point 4. I hope Guida knocks Danzig the F&*^ out…

How did Heath look against Jake O’Brien? I realize it was his first UFC fight and looked a little out of shape. Jake O’Brien is average sized and skill wise compared to Lesnar.

GSP DOES NOT have better wrestling than Fitch. That’s absurd.

You gotta say tho this is one of the best cards in a longgg time… i see Guida winning and eventually fighting for the title.. hes got a ton of heart and is very powerful for 155

MMA weekly has the McCrory/Cummo fight on the September fight night card instead.
There’s also strong rumors that the Guida/Danzig fight will be on there instead.
I hope not because I’m attending 87, but that’s what the word is.

Clay Guida is the Gatekeeper of 155. I love watching the guy fight because he is such an animal but Danzig is very experienced & a very intelligent fighter. Danzig via decision.

Basically they wanted RAMPAGE VS GRIFFIN goto to decision so Chuck and Griffin can fight…RAMPAGE VS SILVA…THE OUT COME EITHER RAMPAGE VS GRIFFIN 2 OR CHUCK VS RAMPAGE 2 OR SILVA VS CHUCK 2 SO IT MADE SENSE THAT NOW THEY CAN HAVE MORE BIG SHOWS AND BOX OFFICE…IF RAMPAGE WON THEY WOULD OF BEEN LESS OF BIG FIGHTS AND HYPES
