Get rid of elbows and allow knees on the ground = the way it should be done. Best rules in MMA. And that includes no stomps.

I agree. The worst thing is when you have a fighter like kenny florian that is simply tring to cut his opponent to win the fight. I guess that’s his version of finishing fights.

i can see why those are illegal strikes but I’m dying to see some vicious stomps and ax kicks just cuz they look cool especially when they start the kick from all the way up.

Ax are allowed and always have been.
Reference Kongo/Filipovic for a recent instance.

you did notice nick diaz wont even do a demo unless he was shown as the person giving the damage not taking it

Who cares what the hell Nick Diaz has to say? Is he demonstrating how to properly smoke a bong?

I can’t wait to watch. The UFC is the king, but maybe not for long. I just want to see the best fights! If the UFC can’t keep there poeple happy then so be it. Just so I don’t get the UFC started it all and put it in the main stream… I agree, and I’m NOT a Danna HATER!!! The man as done alot, but you have to keep up with train called MMA.

Dude,
Do you honestly think Elite XC is gonna provide the “best fights” with a bunch of wannabe fighters like Kimbo and Phil Baroni?
Elite XC is a joke and so is every other organization out there compared to the UFC.
The UFC is the King and the Queen and they rule the whole freakin MMA Kingdom. Wise up.

I’m referring to the future dip sh*t. The way fighters are leaving and so on…

I’m a HUGE Nick Diaz fan, that said I find it humorous that “the rules”are being shown by a guy who failed a drug test, admitedly smokes weed daily and worst of all is ruining his mma carreer over WEED!! I can’t wait for this event, but feel there could have been a better main event. Kimbo is a draw, but not even a contender to real mma enthusiests

off topic here but I met Tim Kennedy at a mma event in fayetteville NC tonight and he said he will have the IFL title and then look for another by the end of the year… Great guy really took time to stop and shoot the crap with us…. just wanted to post that

I have a queastion:
At Pride 33, did the NSAC regulate the fight? If they did, than a lot of the rules from Japan were not allowed. Please let me know guys.

Eh, I dunno about Nick Diaz. His first priority should be MMA, THENNNNNNNNNNN weed. Hahahah

I really hope Jake Shields comes to the UFC soon…He would be a great addition to 170#….

Hopefully before the show they add another video, one that explains the rules on how you win. It would be good for the casual fan to get an introduction. Hell, even I found that video useful, never knew about not being allowed to invert your opponent on a slam.

perhaps they should do a video"HOW TO STOP A FIGHT PROPERLY WHEN A FIGHTER IS SPARK OUT"and let herb dean go over it a few times.they could call it"UNECCESARY DAMAGE".
by SCOTT on Apr 13, 2008 12:03 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I did notice how Herb Dean forgot to show us how to stop a fight prematurely and cost someone a fight.
by jdawg on Apr 13, 2008 12:36 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Think Nick showed up because they told him they’d bring Herb(s)? Herb let J-Lau try to save himself, i was proud of him for that. Something tells me knows about his premature reputation.

Am I the only one who thought that promo was horrible? Checking the gloves for “foreign objects”? WTF!?? I’m offended at the extent the marketing is catering to the WW[E,F] crowd. Rather than use this unique opportunity on network television to showcase the professionalism and dedication of MMA atheltes, they’re instead just catering to the lowest common denominator. Very disappointing.
