What, Chuck give you some dieting tips?

Put the beer down, there’s a start.

LOL, I’ve said it numerous time new years eve ppv bisping gets owned by Anderson Silva. He was small at 205, but will be a beast at 185, he’ll beat (not decisively) the winner of franklin/lutter, but I don’t see him getting out of round 1 against Silva.

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 1:19 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Gracie diet and plenty of jiu jitsu(with the gi) it’ll come off :)

by Dav_t08 on Apr 7, 2008 1:20 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I think that loss against Evans did him some good. Every fighter needs to experience a loss in order to better themselves. Besides its a matter of time before a fighter gets a loss, and Rashad’s is coming up against Liddell.

on a side note Bisping is still a duche bag.

by Bojangles on Apr 7, 2008 1:22 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol, that shit is funny. some of u guys need to lighten up! and kevin bro this time i agree with u. bisping will do good in the middle wieght division untill he fights silva. but i think rich vs. bisping would be a good fight.

and when wandy drops to middlewieght, then we will see some crazy shit. i think if anyone can beat silva is wandy, but i would still put money on silva. in my opinion he is the greatest pound for pound fighter ufc has.

by CBfighter on Apr 7, 2008 1:28 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

He is kinda a duche.. But that is a funny video and I think he will get his due respect at 185 win or lose

by Tyson on Apr 7, 2008 1:29 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Bisping would get killed by Franklin.

by Ryan on Apr 7, 2008 1:29 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

CB, the problem you had with me was a joke, I was mad that I got edited…not to toot my own horn, I’m very knowledgeable and have been an mma fan since before most of these guys even knew what mma meant, in fact my wife trained with BJ Penn when he trained with caeser gracie and she went to his first tournament with him (in vegas, he wasn’t even 18 i think). While I may have said one crazy “deaf” comment, it doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m talking about, mark my words and mark your calenders…Bisping beats Franklin/Lutter and then, in Dec, gets owned by silva (after silva murders Okami and then coaches tuf JK)

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 1:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Does anyone else think turning down 500,000 a fight plus two ppv back ends (by Fedor) is just proof he’d rather fight cans and freak shows in Japan than fight top competition. As much as we hate to admit it, mma in the U.S. is still in its infancy, 1, and 2, the average mma (TUF) fan in the U.S. doesn’t know Fedor and/or actually believes the Kimbo hype.

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 1:43 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Good for Bisping to post some stuff like that. He needs to get some fan support. I’m really looking forward to his fight.

by Alex P. on Apr 7, 2008 1:47 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

yep i dont think he’l beat franklin or lutter to be honest with you so i dont see him fighting silva! he wont beat okami either unless he has improved alot!
karo was beaten by thiago!
early or not there was only one way the fight would go!
just thought id add that

by the heat on Apr 7, 2008 1:50 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Karo got knocked out, and I don’t wanna hear how he recovered from Serra, he’s overrated and is a boring lnp fighter who would get beat by the majority of the top 10 WW (like 8/10)

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 1:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

no kevin, you are wrong. I think fedor, if anything, is doing something right. He is clearly the best. If a top notch, not even the top ranked, boxer gets 20 million a fight. The top MMA fighter i do believe should make at least 10 percetn of that, not 5%. If anything, he is trying to put the sport on the map. Uh oh, i gotta poo

by Javster on Apr 7, 2008 1:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I do believe that these fighters should make alot more money its crazy that they dont its not fair like these good fighters should be getting at least 1 mil for a fight

by Canadian Nemisis on Apr 7, 2008 2:02 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I don’t see Bisping hanging with the top middleweights, just another decent MW to put on exciting fights. He may end up being a contender out of luck alone, but he won’t be a top middleweight. I see him losing to Lutter/Franklin/Cote/Kampmann and especially Okami and any of the good jiu jitsu guys like Almeida and Maia.

by Ballam on Apr 7, 2008 2:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Kevin, do you honestly think Bisping has the skill to beat EITHER Franklin or Lutter. I think either one would twist him up in a knot.

by chefdaddy on Apr 7, 2008 2:06 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Of course 5% of 20mil is 1mil javster, and Im failing to see how getting 2mil per fight is putting the sport on the map…

by Adam on Apr 7, 2008 2:07 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Many people are not going into MMA because there is no money in it. 40,000 to fight, thats 32 after taxes, then pay your trainers, fees, equipment, medical expenses. you are lucky if you hav 5 thousand after all is said and done.

by Javster on Apr 7, 2008 2:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Javster, grab a clue, most guys are trainers where they train, hence pulling a paycheck at the gyms they train, it’s a trade off that gets guys like you to go train at a specific camp…I’m not arguing that mma fighters (some) deserve more money, but the U.S. audience (average mma fan) doesn’t know who fedor is. If he comes in and beats a couple "top “U.S.” fighters, the money will be there, instead he fights cans HMC) for mega bucks in Japan, and you want me to respect that? I respect Fedor 3-4 years ago, but who’s he beat lately??? Cro cop, he got owned by (an overrated Gonzaga), mark hunt (who was beating him, HMC (a pay day) cmon guys use your heads

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 2:20 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Bisping will be tough at 185 lbs. I am not ready to say that he can beat Franklin, like most of you have stated, but if he starts testing himself against top fighters, he will get better and may one day earn a title shot.

I do agree that loosing to Rashad was the best thing to happen to his career. Being undefeated weighs you down mentally and its unrealistic in todays mma to be undefeated anyway. I think he will look very sharp against Tuppaware. He will get to enjoy being the bigger fighter for the 1st time in his UFC career and I think he will fight looser now that he isnt undefeated anymore.

I disagree. Franklin was a LHW as well, and he’ll still be bigger than Bis at 185. Combine his size advantage with better skills, and I’d have to say Franklin would beat Bis.

bisping is a boring fighter.

by Bored on Apr 7, 2008 3:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I don’t like the guy, but that was pretty funny. Rampage probably made him do it. lol He didn’t even drink that beer. He’s a Brit, if he was drinking beer it wouldn’t be a little sip.

PATRICK COTE!!! He’s is coming up …if he wins 2 more fights he will be fighting for the title.

I don’t think Franklin is going to beat Lutter, so I guess I don’t have to worry about him beating Bisping

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 3:52 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Haha that video’s amazing. I very very much doubt he actually binged out on beer/junk food, and was only for a jokey effect. Sure he’ll look good come weigh in day.

Bisping by TKO round 2 3:48.

EXACTLY Pat. I don’t know why all these people, or probably the same one or two over and over, think that Bisping can beat Rich Franklin. Rich can do everything that Bisping can do, but better. And Rich is bigger than Bisping. And Rich has way more experience. There isn’t one advantage in favor of Michael Bisping. Unless the “Anderson Silva Highlight Reel” isn’t playing over and over in Rich’s head, he would wipe the matt with Bisping.

Since losing to Machida years back, Franklin’s only losses are to Anderson Silva. Many people seem to forget this. Rich was steamrolling EVERYBODY they put in front of him.

by ViolentMike on Apr 7, 2008 3:56 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Franklin isn’t what he used to be…didn’t Frank beat him too or am I thinking he heel hooked someone else?? maybe I’m wrong, but Bisping is no slouch, and I got to admit, my wife (who is a huge MMA fan) actually called the Hammil decision, I saw it like most (with Hammill) winning, but after rewatching it, bisping’s boxing isn’t bad, and his bjj is good too, he will win next week easily, and I feel he will beat Franklin/lutter too!! Silva won’t lose this year and maybe fight GSP at a catch weight (if Gsp gets by Serra, which I doubt he wil!!!!!!)

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 4:02 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I guess Bisping is the flavor of the month that everyone is hanging on. To say Bisping would beat Franklin is far fetched to simply put it! One of you even opined that he would win because he use to be a small LHW and now is a going to be a big MW. Franklin will still be bigger. Forgetting about size, what does Bisping do better than Franklin?

Cardio? Franklin
Striking? Franklin
GnP? Franklin
Strength? Franklin
Girls? Franklin
Cars? Franklin
Clothes? Franklin
Bigger Turds? Franklin

Bisping does nothing equally or better than Rich Franklin!

by muto on Apr 7, 2008 4:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yup. Rich and Anderson are like how Big Nog and Fedor were in Pride.

by Pat on Apr 7, 2008 4:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

LOL muto, I just think you guys underestimate Bisping, I’m not new to this game, and just think he’s a good fighter, got some exposure (from tuf) and has a loss, all things that motivate him to keep improving. The move down doesn’t make him huge, but is an advantage…just as Brandon Vera should move down too!

by kevin on Apr 7, 2008 4:08 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Muto " bigger turds"? what are you talking about1 lol You’re what us normal people would call a stalker epecially if you know info like that.
bispings got skill you’ll just have to wait and see.

by UTD on Apr 7, 2008 4:28 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That was actually really funny. I didn’t realize Bisping had a sense of humor. I don’t despise him as much now. Hm.

by DoctorSamson on Apr 7, 2008 4:28 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Bisping will never be a legit top 5 MW, though it’s possible by some stroke of timing and a few wins over lesser opponents that he could get tossed in the cage as fodder for Silva. He simply cannot beat Franklin, Henderson, or Marquardt. Lutter would almost surely submit him, though I might give him a snowballs chance in that fight. If he sticks to fighting guys like McCarthy and then manages to get past someone like Cote or even a resurgent Tanner, who I see beating Grove, then maybe someone will get injured a month before a title fight with Silva and Bisping will be asked to step in. Otherwise, he never gets past the big dogs of the division, he simply isn’t a good enough striker, wrestler or submission artist. He’s decent at everything and has a lot of heart but he’s not ready for prime time against the top talent in either weight class.

by Revjames13 on Apr 7, 2008 4:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Hillarious!!!!… cool cat. Watch out McCarthy, your in for one hell of a scrap with an “average” joe..

on a total irrevelant point raised earlier about karo, he needs to drop to lightweight, he never looks in that gud condition at 170!

by jd on Apr 7, 2008 5:36 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

ok as for the guy who said you’d only have 5 grand out of 40! you dont pay alot for training your medical bills cost alot less than training and those guys get sponsors and their camp have got physios so yer talking crap! its not those guys that have problems its the like of undercard fighters gettin $3000 per fight! that sucks with 3 fights a year ya make fuck all! thats the problem the ufc nedds to worry about paying undercard fighters or the sport will never have the competition that other sports do and we will see people like gsp fedor and silva rule divisions for a long time becuase talented people are not willing to get involved full time because there is no money for them

by the heat on Apr 7, 2008 5:54 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Anyone think he looks leaner in the face?

by RobH86 on Apr 7, 2008 6:13 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Bisping will go as far as he wants…he’s oozing with potential. All the Bisping haters know very little about mma or they’d actually base their opinions on Bisping’s in-ring performances, and not anything else. The guy outpointed Hammill in a controversial decision and now Bisping’s hated. Was he responsible for the judging? He had a solid bout with Evans, a very even bout, and came out on the losing end. He was solid and lost…very much do to being undersized at 205. Personally, I see him challenging at 185…he’s a well rounded fighter with excellent striking and he generally sets a quick pace…

Time will tell.

And, how can one make a decent comparison between two fighters who have never been in the same weight class? I think Franklin is an awesome fighter, but I have no idea how he would matchup against Bisping until I see Bisping fight at 185…it’s that simple. Many on this site thought Swick would have a field day with Burkman, and look how that turned out…

by WADZ on Apr 7, 2008 6:28 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Wow Kevin, if you don’t think GSP will get by Serra. No matter what excuses he had for the first fight, he’s got more to fight for this time.

by Mike on Apr 7, 2008 6:32 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Muto
you forgot to add “plastic surgery” to your list of franklins skills that he has over bisping – that guys the michael jackson of mma… i bet anyone who can kick or knee will try and break his nose from now on, that includes bisping i’m afraid muto

by kumite on Apr 7, 2008 7:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That is very true kumite!

But let me know what fight of Bispings where he utilized a clinch to deliver knee strikes.

Bisping is no Silva. And outside of Silva, Franklin is the most dominate MW the UFC has.

by muto on Apr 7, 2008 7:58 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Kevin, the real problem with you suggesting that Bisping will fight Silva in December is even if he beats McCarthy, he still won’t get a #1 contender match yet. He still has to prove himself at 185 and beating McCarthy isn’t going to immediately turn him into a contender. I don’t think he matches up well with either Franklin or Lutter, so even if he was able to fight one of them I think he’d lose. Lutter is a very good wrestler and BJJ guy and I think he could take Bisping down and submit him. Franklin is better at striking than Bisping and I think his BJJ is better too, giving him an advantage wherever the fight goes.

by GregC on Apr 7, 2008 8:09 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Bisping will shake up the Middle weights. All those punters saying that Franklin will beat Bisping are wrong. Bisping is 30% faster than Franklin, has one of the best sprawls in the game and has extensive BJJ training. I believe he will beat Franklin. He will figure at 185 like it or not.

by Rilly on Apr 7, 2008 8:15 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i think the Count will eventually be pretty good at 185 . but i think it still to early to say who he can & cant beat. with improvement he may 1 day be able to beat Franklin or other top guys. i hope he takes his time and wins this fight & a couple of more before he thinks about challenging anyone in the top 3-5.

also i hope he doesnt have any problems making weight.that vid. reminds me of gabe ruediger on TUF5.

by the levi on Apr 7, 2008 9:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

They pay new/crap fighters crap for a reason ufc is a business. Pay them crap and they will all be trying hard to work their way up and/or earn fight of night/submission/locker room bonuses and will be put on main cards when they are worth it. what incentive would crap fighters have if they were automatically paid well upon entering the ufc. the fighters are training hard knowing that they could one day make Liddel pay checks. It makes for more exciting fights. Houston Alexander is a prime example of a no name that became exciting and put on main cards. Also dont want to pay fighters too much or they might just retire with the cash wouldn’t that suck for ufc and the fans.

first of all, i think bisping is more over rated that kimbo….ya that’s right i said it guys. i would take jardine over him anyday of the week. rich franklin would destroy him also. and, for all of you talking about how fedor should get paid what he wants because boxers get 20 mil. a fight, look at the whole picture. boxing matches on ppv go for 12 rounds and there’s only 1-2 fights. ufc ppv generally has at least 7 matches that only go for 1-5 round. very rarely will a boxing match on ppv get stopped, it generally always goes to a decision. and you all should know the average amount of times a ppv ufc match goes to a decision. so my point is this: your not going to make that much $ gaurunteed when a sport is still in it’s infancy, there’s many other fighters on the card, you have a reputation for only fighting cans and also haven’t fought at all for a long time, and your target audience hardly knows you except for all the bitching and moaning you’ve been doing. i’m not saying fedor shouldn’t get paid that amount, but i think he should fight some where around 3-4 fights with atleast 2 of them being top contenders and winning all of them to start getting the paycheck he wants. that way he builds his credit with the fans, slowly builds up more mma attraction. but that’s just my opinion, let the ridicule begin.

by bigbadbrad on Apr 8, 2008 9:30 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

“Yup. Rich and Anderson are like how Big Nog and Fedor were in Pride.”

No way. They fought 3 times. Once was a no contest and Fedor won two unanimous decisions. Did Rich lose to Anderson via decision? No. He lost by BRUTAL DESTRUCTION. Franklin did not have a moment of an opportunity to win that fight. Big Nog is always 1 second away from winning via submission.

Rich and Anderson is more like Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz, or Chuck and Rampage, or Tito and CHuck.

first time i saw bisping was against matt hamill. i think he was 13-0 going into that fight and i was rather unimpressed with his performance. i’ve only seen bits and pieces of the evans fight and he wasn’t doing much in the part i saw although evans wasn’t exactly lighting up the arena either.
