Redbelt take 2: Alternate movie trailer for David Mamet's MMA drama
It looks like David Mamet may have finally lost his marbles -- and that might not be a bad thing.
Here is a second look at the upcoming mixed martial arts drama Redbelt featuring exiled UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy "The Natural" Couture and PRIDE veteran Enson Inoue.
Anyone that's seen the first trailer back in February will recognize that this new, alternate trailer is focused more on character development and less on marbles.

Got some well known actors in it, trailer looks good… still… don’t get, what’s with the marbles thing from the previous trailer?

Both trailers sucked, and Randy can’t save the movie on his own. Tim Allen is a curse for any movie.

It’s DAVID MAMET. Period. The guy has an awesome track record. Who cares about the marbles? It’s a movie, give it a shot before casting it aside. An awesome cast, with an awesome director tackling a subject all of us fucking love???? What can be better than that?
I’m not greedy. I’ll dig it.
HAS to be better than that NEVER BACK DOWN garbage.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand David Mamet has been one of America’s best writers for 30 years. But, man do these trailers suck. I suppose the best hope for this is that it is an unusual drama that the studio marketing department has no idea how to sell. But boy o’boy do those trailers suck.

Oh, right. Tim Allen is a curse. But you see Randy even close to someone who would be able to save a movie? He’s never done anything acting wise. Oh, one tv show. I dont know, from the looks of things, looks pretty good and nifty. Oh and yes, Tim Allen is the man.

I like Tim Allen too, but I mostly enjoy him in comedy movies (although from the looks of it, this is a comedy flick, right?).

Can someone please explain to me what this movie has to do with MMA. It looks like a snooze fest. I didn’t see one fight in the whole preview. In fact, the preview almost put me to sleep. I like some of the actors in it but I’ll wait to see it some Wednesday night on HBO or something.

I liked Tim Aleen better when he was slinging blow!

There was a small clip that looked like John Machado. I wonder if is one of the fighter. He probably did all of the BJJ instruction.
I hope the movie is better than the trailer. That trailer doesn’t interest me.

Actually looks like it might be a smart movie. THAT would be a change for this genre. No idea what the marbles comments are about.

It doesn’t look half bad really. Much better than the last pile.

why tim allen? who else tried out for that part, ralph machio?
what were they thinking? Hell joe rogan would have been better, at least he could do the bjj half descent. Imagining tim allen choking someone out or holding a guiollotine is funny, but not in a good way….
