Lutter is formidable, but I think Rich is just the tougher man, and should be able to beat Lutter up, while staying out of a submission. Franklin rd 3 TKO!

actually ryon chonan got closer cuz he did beat him in recent years! i think lutter will come out for an early take down from the outside and franklin will sutff his take downs..to take out a striker you have to set up the take down by standing in front of him…lutter know he made dumb mistake when he shot out from the outside and silva grazed him with that flying knee! franklin has more top 10 experience i pull for franklin 3rd tko.

i had forgotten, but this video reminded me on how lutter could have very well won the fight if they would have stopped it as fast as they stop the fights nowadays! He was 2-3 seconds short, silva was not defending any of those hits!

This is a dumb match up. Lutter would be better suited in a matc h against Ricardo Almeida or even Thales Leites. Those would be very exciting matches. Lutter and the ground vs, either almeida or leites, will make for a highly technical and exciting grappling match.

I dont see how people can even say that fight was close. woth or with out a injured leg, I saw the fight as a complete domination by Silva. Those shots did nothing. Lets not forget Silva has one of the best jaws in mma considering the fact that he has never been ko, let alone stunned before.

I understand your thought process but it IMO is wrong because………Silva is going to leave the division. These fighters realize that and they are fighting for slots #2 and #3 that will turn into #1 and #2 once Silva bolts for GSP or ’Page depending on where you think he will go next; up or down in weight as I have read both directions.

If he would get beat and decide to come back to the MW division, then whoever is champ better grab the wife and the dog and head for the hills!

I met rich at the gym once. At first i wasn’t even sure if it was him but then i saw the tapout shorts he was wearing. He seems nice and i hope he wins

 How can you even compare Tim Silvia to Lutter. Silvia doesnt even deserve to be in the same sentence as Lutter and I belive Lutter would be a very good and marketable champ, he has class.Alsou have to admit he’s got skills and if he wouldnt have been so gassed from cutting weight he would have finished Silva when he had him mounted. Im am a big Franklin fan but think it will be a tough fight for him and could go either way.

If Rich Franklin loses this fight, his game will become questionable, even though Travis Lutter is a good fighter, it’s just that Rich has a lot riding here since getting straight up mauled by Silva not once but twice.

GSP vs. Silva wont happe at least not for another 3 years. however, GSP vs. Liddell at 205 is a possability, as is Anderson vs. wanderlei at 185. lbs.

All those other theories ar pimpe dreams. These are the only 2 match ups involving Silav and fighters in other weight class.

Three great fights, I would still like to see a Hendo vs. Silva and Lutter vs. Silva rematches to that list. Someone already said that Luter has come the closest to beating Silva and I think he can game plan better to make it to at least the 2nd to 3rd round. I am still thinking Hendo can make this fight better than his last one with Silva.
Silva is one tough dude and I would never bet against him, unless he was fighting Randy or Brock…maybe not even Brock.

I think most people want to see Franklin vs Henderson. If Franklin was to win then the Middleweight division would really be lost. I mean could anyone really see Rich beating Silva!? And waht would happen to Henderson if he lost again. 0-3 in UFC would most probably be the end for him. Could be interesting few months for this division.

Yeah, because that’s all MMA is about. Who is the champ. We don’t care about all the other great fighters out there. Just the one guy at the top. In case you are wondering, that’s sarcasm. 2nd place in a stacked division of world-class fighters doesn’t matter? What are you talking about?!

Franklin is tool, so i hope Lutter comes of age and smashs him. I love Lutters style. He’s a technician and i hope he picks Franklin apart and retires him.

I got my money on Lutter. I like Rich too, but I want to see Lutter win. Lutter is a cool guy. I met him before. He doesn’t have all the coaches most other fighters have, he’s just a regular guy who teaches at his martial arts school and anyone that wants can go train with him.

Big Timma was more marketable than you might think. He was the guy you hated to watch and wanted to loose. So a majority of the people who bought his fights… bought, just to see him loose.
