MMAmania.com staff introductions ... finally

Since our decision to expand our mixed martial arts coverage and to continue the growth of our Web site, we have enlisted the services of a few good men to help us out here at MMAmania.com.
Most of our readers have hopefully noticed that we now highlight the author name right under the title of each post.
This was not the case for about the first 18 months of our long strange online trip.
During this time we were essentially a two-man operation with some nice help from frequent contributor, Jesse Holland, from time to time. He's also been extremely helpful when called upon in emergency situations — it's impossible for me to be chained to this computer 24/7.
Now in addition to Jesse -- and our LIVE events blogger, DrubySunshine -- we have a solid collection of individuals who are all chipping in to make Mania a better place. And with their continued support, we'll be able to improve the experience and offerings here much more going forward.
We've got some cool things in the works, which hopefully pan out sometime soon.
At any rate, I just want to officially introduce the "fresh faces" on MMAmania and provide our readers with a little background on each of them:
James Iannotti — James is one of our longest running readers and one of the most loyal supporters we've had since our inception. He's been commenting on the site for as long as I can remember and it was a natural decision to reach out to him. James covers ProElite news for the most part and has also been pitching in with some Strikeforce coverage. He's 27-years-old and lives in downtown Orlando, Fla. He's married and his wife is a broadcast journalist with the U.S. army overseas in Iraq. James is a full-time student and part-time poker pro.
Adam Wagner — Adam is also a long-time reader who is going to help us develop creative editorial content. His thoughts and opinions have thus far sparked some nice debate, and he's going to also pick up some of the slack with fighter interviews. In his real life, Adam is a writer, blogger and founder of A Likely Story Film Productions (ALSFP), which produces short comedies and dramas. The most recent ALSFP film, "Tunnel Vision," received a Special Judges Award from the 2007 National Film Challenge for "Most Extensive Use of Plaid in a Costume." Seriously. His sports blog, SteelSkins, covers the Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins and the UFC for both of its readers. Originally from Ohio, he lives in the Washington, D.C. metro area with his girlfriend, a burlesque performer.
Andrew Nostvick — Andrew has been busy writing up some exclusive stories with interviews from some of the top fighters in the sport. That's going to be his primary charge here at MMAmania.com — interviews are an integral component to our site. Andrew is currently attending Wartburg College, a small-private school up in Northeastern Iowa. He is a print media major in his sophomore year. He hopes to enter the print or online journalism field. Since being at the school, he's already won an Iowa College Media Association Award for Best Sports Story and is about to be inducted into the Society of Collegiate Journalists.
Sean McManus — Sean, big surprise, has been a long-time reader of this site. He's our Canadian connection up north, providing some nice exclusive stories thanks to his work for various MMA-related companies. He also fist got some ink here when he submitted a few fan experience stories that we posted in 2007. Sean is the Director of Media Relations for MMACanada.net.
Robert Moore — Robert is pitching in occasionally with World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) news and notes. This is an area in which we really want to increase our coverage to include more than just straight news. If there are any WEC maniacs out there who want to share the load with Robert LET ME KNOW.
Drew Franklin — At press time I still have not heard from Drew about his background. But, another shocker, Drew is a long-time MMAmania.com supporter (anyone see a common thread here?) and manages our MySpace page with updates from the site. He also does contests and other stuff that he doesn't tell me about. I do know that our page has the best music on the Web, which is reason more than any to go check it out.
That's about it.
We're still looking to add talented. motivated and CONSISTENT members to our team. Therefore, if you're interested in coming on board shoot me an email and tell me the reasons we should work together. Writing samples or other work are also helpful.
Upfront disclaimer: I can't possibly respond to all emails to please don't take it personal. I think last time I put out a call for help we got more than 1,000 emails.
That's a lot.
As I said earlier, we're looking to expand our MMA coverage. So if you have an interest in WEC, the Japanese scene, Strikeforce and HDNet (in that order) it will certainly further your cause.
Thanks.

Thanks for all the work. Not work, like a Ken Shamrock work, but all the time and effort. That’s what I’m really trying to say. I really appreciate it and enjoy this site. That’s not to say I don’t look at other sites, but this is a really good one. No, scratch that, it’s great. That’s the point I’m trying to get across here.

Wow, Mania is expanding big time. Keep up the good work guys. The articles and interviews are always entertaining and the threads are populated by some greater posters.
I think it’s time for a good photoshop contest some time in the near future. I’m sure it would provide us all with some great laughs.
Yay or nay guys? Let’s put some pressure on Mania on this one. It should be fun.

WHERE IS THE BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON MR. MANIA HIMSELF???
I think that it would be a great idea to also include their screennames next to their names up top.
- I know that Seamus is Sean from Canada.
- I figured out that NOS must be Andrew Nostvick
- I knew that MR.NC-17’s first name was Drew and that he is from Ohio, but I never knew his last name was FRANKLIN as well!!!!!! Wow, no wonder he’s always on Franklin’s nuts. Its almost like he’s just giving his own balls a lil scratch! Just playin with you Drew!!!!! Bring on all the Hendo, Fitch, Diaz, and Leben jokes you got… LOL

I prefer the relative anonymity in such a public space. It’s a fascinating contradiction. Besides, I’m not that interesting.

lol I would also like to see the screen names against their real name.
Really thought John would be there……that guy amazes me how he can do final exams and post as much and as deeply as he does.
Also thought VM, you would be there. You post that much at work that I thought…..this must be his job lol
Great job guys……educating the uneducated ala Automation lol
Also great job to all the major posters (you all know who you are)……you all do a good job ignoring my posts :( lol

LOLOLOL. Every now and then I get a day at work where I really can’t visit the site, but usually, I can check up many times throughout the day, well up until 5 eastern.
I also noticed, Automation, that in a lot of posts you include how you don’t know much, but all of your posts seem to be intelligent, especially when compared to most of the posts here. You gotta build that self-esteem/confidence up buddy!

Thanks VM.
I know a good technical fighter when I see one.
I do feel I know what I am talking about but only when it is fighters I know.
Unfortunately, my only experience of MMA is with UFC, Cage Rage, TKO MMA and Youtube more so because of time restraints i.e. work and family.
When you guys start talking about fighters I’ve never heard of………I think OK then, say something funny lol.
Unfortunately, I just cant engage in most conversations or post a comment with any relevance.
Hence the props to you guys for educating the uneducated….giving me the heads up on names of up and comers that I can at least search for footage.
