Report: Fedor never signed fight contract with M-1

fedor emelianenko m-1

Props: Sherdog.com

Quoteworthy:

"Despite the announcement of an agreement last October between Fedor Emelianenko and M-1 Global, the deal was never signed.... The Russian heavyweight's only agreement with the company ... came in the form of a letter of intent.... The return of a $1.5 million signing bonus paid by M-1 Global to Emelianenko is the only hurdle to the former Pride champion's potential free agency. That should be remedied this week...."

Seriously, is it possible for this situation to get any more bizarre? It's like a bad episode of the "Twilight Zone."

This issue with Fedor..with Randy the nine yards needs to get settle soon. I’m tired of hearing about this. I just want to know who he is fighting next? When?

this in a weird way is just like Chuck vs Wandy, everything was so close and it all would fall apart time and time again, finally we had the fight and it exceeded the hype it was an amazing toe to toe striking clinic.
Hopefully, this fight with Randy and Fedor happens but, I much rather wait and the fight live up to the hype than have it now and it suck balls…

Fedor betting do something spectacular because after all the B.S., if we have another Cro Cop vs Gonzaga special on our hands, it’s gonna be UG-LY.

To answer your question, I have recently been contacted about fighting Fedor. We have both signed pre-pre-fight agreements, but nothing is yet set in stone. So far I have put on 20 pounds to get my weight up to 190 in hopes of being a HW by the time the actual contracts are signed. After I completely destroy the Russian, I intend to have a cage match against two bengaled tigers and then I will gracefully retire. The date on the pre-pre-fight agreement is springish of 2010. Also, the contract I signed was writtten completely in Russian. Being a small town guy from Oklahoma I had a lot of difficulty translating. If my calculations are correct Fedor will be making 1 billion dollars and I will get all the beer I can hold down for two weeks following the bout, my biggest payout yet. I am chomping at the bit for this match. Hopefully Fedor doesn’t get scared and back out. Hopefully this clears some things up for everybody.

How about we all agree to stop talking about Fedor until he starts fighting legitimate competition. This is turning into a soap opera and I’m losing interest quickly. I’m almost glad he isn’t going to sign with the UFC. He’s not worth the trouble. Forget Fedor v. Randy, let’s see Randy vs. Big Nog.

WHAT!!!!!!???

Another twist to the story……..feels like I’m watching a poor soap opera.

Like I said before. I’m sooooooooooooo past wanting to see them fight.

All the crap that surrounds their contracts etc etc is just becoming baggage that people a growing tired off.

Fedor and Randy are ultimately ruining themselves.

im going along w/ john in that it would be funny if the ufc signs fedor and leaves randy out in the cold. that would teach him a lesson. fedor vs a.a., sylvia, werdum, vera, kongo would all be interesting fights. he’s already beaten nog twice so if they gave him atitle shot right off the bat he would be champ (no doudt). scratch kongo, that would be a mismatch and put in gonzaga who is the greatest 1rnd fighter alive. i know most of fedors fans think all these will be easy fights, but i wanna see it first.

Once again to take a cheap swing, I cant stand Dana White but for Criz sake at least he and the UFC legal team have there crap together!!! How do you remotely…oh never mind!

Yes there are so many other good fights out there. Randy and Nog. AA hopefully out there somwhere. Werdum is no joke. Mir movin slowly back up. Lesnar is well Lesnar. Wish could see some Barnett. There are so many fights that are not happening that personally I think would be better.

Fedor Emelianenko is rumored to have left M-1 and is now a free agent.

Six months ago M-1 was all over the news, touting themselves as the next big thing in MMA, but after looking at this card it looks like the same old Russian based organization highlighting its own Red Devils team.

Janne Tulirinta Finland vs Lee Yonghoon Korea
Lucio Linhares Finland vs Lim Hyungyu Korea
Toni Valtonen Finland vs Choi Seunghyun Korea

LOL, for those that don’t know, it means “stink”.

I still have mad respect for Fedor though, it’s not his fault randy chose to leave the UFC, Fedor had no obligation whatsoever to sign with the UFC. He tried, the UFC gave him a bunch of negatives in his contract so he decided not to sign. Simple as that.

I am amazed however that he never had an actual contract with M1, I’m still not sure if that’s stupid as it sounds or if Fedor is actually the smartest business man in town. Since he already showed a bit of displeasure with M1 for not booking him in any recent fights, he can just call it quits and not worry about it (different scenario for randy, who does have a contract and will have to answer in court).

Dana is not one to swallow his pride, but no way in hell would he pass up an opportunity to cash in on this fight. I don’t see why some people find it funny or want Randy to be taught a lesson, because everyone (fans, UFC ,Randy)has to suffer except the guy (Fedor) that caused Randy to leave in the first place, by playing games and not signing with the UFC in the first place. Fedor has to sign with the UFC or his legacy is going down the drain. The top guys are in the UFC,to be the best he has to beat them. We all know it and Fedor must too.

BJ Vs Fedor 2010!

Uh No…two over-rated fighters whom no one will care to see…besides BJ will be 60 by then! They can call this UFC 121 “Who Cares”…I am sooooo sick of hearing about Fedor and at this point I don’t care if he signs to fight at some high school gym in Omaha…If they are going to put someone to fight Fedor it won’t be that chump BJ! Can you imagine how fat BJ would be to catch up to HW? He is a tub of grease at 155…he wouldn’t be able to get through the octagon gate at HW without a shoe-horn and a tub of Crisco!

He took him the distance and it was a reat fight, hes a natural LTWT and shouldnt even be in the ring with Machida but he took him the distance and Machida had huge reach, height, and weight advantage. He hung with him, GSP would get eatin up by Lyoto, if he ever even had the nuts to move up to 205 let alone 185 to go after Silvas reign. But whatever, who wants to watch a guy with b*ls of steale that will fight anyone, anytime, never taps, the best ground game in the world, loves to see blood, great standup, and a great attitude.

by THORAZINE on Mar 19, 2008 1:48 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

This whole situation has become such a joke. Except its not even funny anymore. It’s one of those jokes you hear as a 4 year-old and grow out of by the age of seven. All the Dana-bashers can whine all they want, but after seeing everything that has happened unfold, the only entity in all of this that comes out looking good is the UFC and Dana White.

I loved Randy Couture as much as anyone, but he’s making himself look like a complete prima donna. He claims he left the UFC because he wanted Fedor, and now he’s saying he wouldn’t do that fight in the UFC. He acts like he has some sort of MMA fighter humanitarian cause but give me a break; he’s doing this for HIMSELF and ONLY HIMSELF. It sounded like an excuse, but more and more I’m believing Dana White when he said Couture’s agent was in his ear. I think he’s just drinking his own Kool-Aid now and it’s too late for to turn back.

Then you have Fedor refusing to sign with the UFC over Sambo, and going to company that never actually signed him. Seriously? Is this the guy considered pound-for-pound best fighter in the world? Wait, wait you’re right. After all he did beat Hong Man Choi. Seriously, the only truly impressive win on his record is Nogeuira. Everything else is fluff, and as time goes on he’s proving that’s all he’s capable of doing.

I can hear it now: “WAHHHHHHHHHHH! DANA STOLE MY LUNCH MONEY! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! FEDOR IS JESUS REINCARNATE! WAHHHHHHHHHH! RANDY COUTURE PERSONALLY SAVED MY LIFE FROM A FIRE! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

Lets get real people.

Randy does not want to fight nobody else. He wants to make that fight happen.I am getting tired of the same thing.Randy knows that if he fights Nog and loses the fight with Fedor will not make sense.I believe all of this is just a way to play around with fans that at the end of day are the ones who will play to watch the fight.Like all the fans I have spent money waching all the fights going to Vegas to see it live and spending sometimes what I can afford.

I personally don’t care to hear about Randy and I certainly don’t care to hear about Fedor until they have a for sure fight thats gonna happen. So from now on I am just going to ignore these threads until one of them say Randy The Natural Couture Vs. Fedor Emilianenko set for such and such date. All the hype is really getting old and Randy is one of my favorite fighters but until Randy has a date, place, and orginazation he’ll be fighting in I really could care less about what he has to say at this point. This fiasco is really becoming pretty pothetic, I would rather argue about who was a better HW at the time (Fedor or Randy) than to keep my hopes up for so long and the fight never happen.

Randy = donkey
Fedor = smart?

Linx: I completely agree. I thought this was a brilliant move by his management team. M-1 was just a start up company and no one knew how they would shape up. His management team, left him with a way out, and since M-1 has done nothing for him in 6 months, he is a smart business man in knowing when to call it quits, and having a legal way out of the contract.

Most people on this site Bash Fedor for the Couture mess. I actually blame Fedor the least out of him, Dana, and Randy.

Over the past 7 months, Captain America has turned into captain ego maniac. Randy should be the one we are bashing not Fedor. Randy has made a good life for himself because of the UFC and its fans and now he thinks he is bigger than all that, but I am here to tell you all that he isnt! Randy was a great fighter, but a mediocre Heavyweight. He holds no wins over Nogueira, Fedor, Barnett or Arlovski, who at one time or another where considered the elite heavyweights of the world. Randy retired after being KO’ed by Liddell 2 fights in a row. Then while retired, Bodog offered him 2 million to face Fedor, instead he decided to go back to the UFC, were he was offered an instant title shot in the Heavyweight division, which he did nothing to deserve. He beat Tim Sylvia, then he was booked to fight Gonzaga. 80% of the people on this site were predicted Gonzaga was going to kill Randy. I was one of the few, that was trying to point out that Gonzaga was unproven, and not ready for such a big test, and I was proved right when couture completely outclassed him. Because of those 2 over rated wins, Couture now thinks he is the God of mma.

At this point, i dont care if I ever see Randy fight again. He is old as dirt and doesnt have that many good fights ahead of him. As for Fedor, I dont need him to signin the UFC. As long as he ends up in either DREAM or the UFC, he will still have quality opponents to face, I will continue to be a fan of his and follow his career wherever it takes him.

Randy went on to completely disrespect the true UFC Heavyweight Champion, Nogueira, by over looking him and saying Fedor is the only fight that makes sense for him at that stage. B.S!!! Atr this stage what would make sense for Randy is to actually get a win over elite Heavyweights like Barnett, Fedor, Nogueira or even Arlovski.

Randy’s heavyweight career doesnt come close to being as impressive as NOgueira’s. I never thought I would see the day when I am no longer a couture fan, but that day has come!

But whatever, who wants to watch a guy with b*ls of steale that will fight anyone, anytime, never taps, the best ground game in the world, loves to see blood, great standup, and a great attitude.

by any chance are u bj penns gf,,if ur a man u have a man crush..dork watch the gsp vs fat bj fight gsp easily won 2 of 3 rounds if not all 3…and gsp couldnt move up to 205 healthily bcause he isnt a fat slob like bj

The question is would Fedor or Big Nog be able to do what Randy has done at his age. They are both about 10 years younger than Randy and for someone his age, someone who is over the hill to come back into an orginization and do what he has done is pretty impressive. So if u think him saying Fedor is the only fight that makes sense to him is disrespectfull, think what you want to think. Randy has said he wants to fight one more time and he wants that fight to be Fedor so why should he settle for Fedor’s left overs. He wants to do what no one else has done and thats beat Fedor so if thats the last goal he has for hiself in his MMA career then why should he settle for a guy that Fedor has beaten twice. If I were Randy and this was my goal I would have probably pursued it just as Randy is doing right now not to prove anything to anyone but myself.

And I don’t want to hear that Randy doesn’t deserve this fight because Tim Sylvia and Gabriel Gonzaga are tougher opponents than Hong Man Choi or what ever the hell his name is and if he is fighting Barnett next they better be drug testing.

Balls of steal? Balls of FAT more like it! And he can only stand up for the first round…when the bell sounds for the start of the 2nd he already needs someone to hold him up…but being fat and not doing cardio will do that to you! And BJ sure showed that great attitude on TUF…he didn’t care about those kids and was a terrible coach…and that showed when Pulver coached those kids to victory while fat BJ laid on the mat and let everyone else put in work!

WORD! And i think BJ has subbed two men at the end of the 2nd round recently not needed to be helled up just to make it. Its funny, BJ will smash sherk and youll jump on the next bandwagon of the fighter hes fighting next. Who will it be Grizz? Kenflo, JLau, GSP, Huerta? Who will you be a #1 fan of next??? Do me a favor and tell Sherk to get off BJ’s “nuts of fat”!! Jocking him doing the commentary! “VERY heavy hands” “Hard to train for” “His flexability, WoW!” “Trains very hard” HahaHAHAhaahaaa!!! And all sherk got was a “YOU’RE DEAD” and he gets all butt hurt! HAHAHAhaaaha! Sherk wants BJ’s talent and likeness of the fans like BJ, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAhaaaaahhahahahaheheheheheheeeeehh!

BJ over-rated??
maybe Fedor
not BJ
