Kevin Randleman to make MMA return and could fight Jeff Monson
Former UFC heavyweight champion, Kevin Randleman, is in negotiations to ink a deal with the Japanese-based World Victory Road promotion to make a return to mixed martial arts action on May 18, according to MMAWeekly.com.
In addition, "The Monster" revealed during the interview that it's also possible that he will take on Jeff Monson one month later during a Global Fighting Championships (GFC) event penciled in for sometime in June.
That's an ambitious schedule for a fighter who has not competed since 2006 -- a submission loss to Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at Pride 32: "The Real Deal." Not to mention Randleman recently survived a SERIOUS staph infection that could have killed him if went untreated.
Randleman -- who is now training with XTreme Couture out of Las Vegas -- was also recently stopped for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), intimidating a public officer and other charges in Sin City.
He has satisfied a one-year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for providing a non-human urine sample following his loss to Rua.
The two-time NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion from Ohio State University defeated Pete Williams at UFC 23 in 1999 to capture the vacant heavyweight title. Randleman's title reign was brief, however, when Randy Couture stopped him the following year via technical knockout (strikes) at UFC 28 in round three of their championship bout.
Best of luck on the comeback, Kevin. These last two years have been rough ... it'd be nice to see you enjoy some success.

As Bas Rutten says often Steriods dont give you talent. So Randleman is really going to need that ‘best of luck’ ROFL!

hey JV, as another poster already said, ROFL means rolling on the floor laughing. being from another country I used to have problems with some of these acronyms myself, you can go to www.acronymfinder.com and you can put which ever acronym you’re having troubles with, great site for taking care of the IMO’S, FTW, etc…

lmao, that’s classic. he submits a non-human urine sample, wow.

Isn’t easier and more believable to use a friend’s urine sample rather than getting one form an animal?

Cool! I really like Randleman so it’s sweet that he’s fighting again.

Yea well Pride wasnt exactly letting him back out in interviews he talks about how he was on antibiotics that if the commision had known about would have had him off the card and that card had already taken some hits

Maybe I am behind but when did Randleman and Coleman stop training together? They said Randleman was with Xtreme Couture…what happened to the Hammerhouse?

I don’t think he left for good — fighters train at other camps all the time. He actually trains wrestling for the Tompkins-led IFL team.
Here’s a great pic:

Wow, Randleman looks small beside those two.

Randleman is one of my all time favourites… to bad he’ve done some damn dumb stuff…
Hope he’ll be serious again an maybe even in the future inside the Octagon… that would’ve been cool.

Any guy who let’s a staph infection get that bad before getting treatment has to be a complete idiot. Add in the DUI and providing a NON-HUMAN URINE SAMPLE? What a fucking moron!!!
I say keep this guy out. Nobody needs someone that friggin’ stupid in the ring. If we need a dumb-ass in there, we always have Melvin Guillard!

The last time I had to go for a drug test, I submitted giraffe piss. I had no problems sneaking it in and it would have worked just fine. Except for the fact that the giraffe had crystal meth and oxycontin in his system.
Randleman vs Monson is just fine for a no-name organization. As long as he doesn’t think he’ll be back in the UFC, he’ll have no problems. I wonder if Monson knows this yet. I wonder what happened to that person that used to post here that claimed that he always saw Monson and every week he claimed to be fighting some star.

This would be an interesting fight I would be intersted in, but i’d put my money on Monson believe it or not, Randleman’s been out sooo long, and doesnt do well with sub’s.

I agree.
Monson will prob win via submission. I think Randleman is WAY out of his prime.

Does Randleman still hang with Coleman???
They have a father/son type of relationship, so I would guess they do still hang and train together..
