I second that keystone. How did AA look? Damn it! I thought the ways were at 4 and at 1:20 I found out they were at 1 p.m. (PST obviously). Does anyone know where I can catch a replay of the weigh-ins?? Help!!!

Probably on the ufc site

Did you guys watch the weigh-ins? Hendo and Silva both looked really good. Both guys looked relaxed and ready. I was actually a little surprised how big Silva is. Silva was bigger then Hendo when they were squaring up.

They had a packed house. Ohio is really turning into a great place for MMA. The fans were fired up. During the last two shows in Columbus, for UFC 68 and UFC 77, I’ve been impressed with the fans. They don’t boo as soon as the fight goes to the ground and the atmosphere is really up.

Silva is a middle weight Liddell with those lanky arms minus the semi-beer gut (which I actually think is just an akward shaped stomach on Chuck)….I dunno….I want Dan to win but, but I somehow feel like Dan gets surprised and T/KO’d for the first time…

The feed didn’t work for me on UFC but did on Yahoo..

LOL..Luke Cummo with the Jeans and Belt

Yeh I was surprised how much bigger Anderson looked…

And AA was looking good too!! Seemed ready

Yeah the UFC video feed is crap. I tried ESPN but seriously only caught 2 seconds of Rogan’s last words and missed everything else. Can anyone upload the weigh-in video on youtube or no anyone that has posted it? UFC.com does not have the weigh-in vids.

Andrei Arlovski (241) vs. Jake O’Brien (231.5)

I am pleased to see that Arlovski has 10 poinds on O’brien. Combine that with his excellent sprawls and hopefully O’brien wont be able to lay on him all night. Keep in mind Arlovski has an excellent Sambo background so even if he gets put on his back, he has a chance of finishing the fight.

Not counting the main event, I have a feeling that the fight of the night and/or Ko of the nights are going to come out of the Leben/Sakara and Cummo/Fioravanti fights.

Submission of the night will probably be awarded to Hazlett when he upsets Koschek with a stunning submission. It could also go to Sanchez,Beilheden, Gurgel, Halverson

As for the main event:
Dan “Built Ford Tough” Henderson vs. Anderson “the spider” Silva….This has the potential of instantly becoming one of the top 5 matches in the history of MMA. No predictions offered for this fight because anyone claiming that they could reasonably predict one fighter over the other is just dillusional. 2 top caliber fighters that match up so evenly capable of provising many different outcomes is the stuff that Classics are made of!

by john on Feb 29, 2008 5:39 PM EST reply actions

Yeh that place was packed!!!

Andy: Great post. Ohio is becoming a hot spot for mma. I have also taken notice to how classy the Ohio fans have been at events. I am from Philly so I know a thing or 2 about trashy fans and I always get so pissed when fighters get boooed during fights just cause the fight goes to the ground.

Props to the fans from Ohio that have appreciated and supported the fighters every time an event takes place.

Then again, you would have to be a real prick not to show gratitude for the kind of card that the UFC is giving to the fans. None the less, Its appreciated!

Haha, on the back of Dustin Hazelett’s shirt it said, “I’m not Jon Fitch so stop asking.”

lol, anyone else catch this?

by Jeff on Feb 29, 2008 6:22 PM EST reply actions

Hendo doesn’t look as skinny as Anderson at 185. Hendo wins by TKO in the third round. That’s my prediction but really this is anyone’s fight. If Hendo can’t do it, nobody can!

by jimmy_dean on Feb 29, 2008 6:23 PM EST reply actions

AA by decapitation!!!

-LOL and i sure hope so, AA deserves to go out in style. Unfortunately, they fed him another snoozer of a fighter so well see. (well not literaly since hes not televised) crossing fingers some fights end early though!

go HENDO!

by blah on Feb 29, 2008 7:21 PM EST reply actions

Silva is huge. I hope he beats Hendo down and moves up to 205, he would do it with ease. Then we can see him fight the likes of Liddell, Wanderlei, Shogun….my god it would be grand.

im commenting as i watch this, diego sanchez is such a fucking joke lol his “intense” look jesus

by brendan on Feb 29, 2008 9:47 PM EST reply actions

Was anyone else pumped to see Evan Tanner looking great and happy. I hope that he stays cut free and brings it on Okami’s head. And do you really think Koscheck’s few friends tell him that hair looks good….My goodness I laughed …

GO HENDO

by BigPelly on Feb 29, 2008 10:11 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, seriously, what was Diego doing on the scale? What a fag. And what about the rookie operating the scale? LMAO took him like 30 seconds to get Halverson’s weight and then Dana’s like “uhh go by the fighter’s weight class, smart one”

by Anthony on Feb 29, 2008 10:32 PM EST reply actions

Lol, diego is much less intimidating after two poor performances. Now we can laugh at the stupid things he does more easily. I really liked that shirt, i didn’t notice until i saw the posting and rewatched it, but that’s funny. And i’m only making one prediction: Silva-TKO mid round 3 or later 2

by UFCmn89 on Feb 29, 2008 10:55 PM EST reply actions

Yeah Diego gives tool a good name.

DAMN…….Silva is a scary mo fo at the weigh ins. Dude looks like he wants to kill someone. Definitely got my money on Silva. Hendo getting KO’d for the first time. ONLY thing preventing that is the ref jumping in and stopping before he actually goes to sleep!!!

by fightfan on Feb 29, 2008 11:04 PM EST reply actions

cant wait for MW title fight

too tough to call if silva walks thru hendo then its time to go to 205 and wipe out the division

wtf is going on koscheck AA and sanchez arent on the main card according to weigh ins

all 3 are definitely way bigger fights than leben sakara

and possibly bigger than herring kongo

looks a pretty solid card why cant they share out some more of the big fights to uk cards

its strange they dont broadcast all the fights on ppv seems wasteful to have some that are never aired on tv

lot of people at the weighins

good to see silva getting the respect he deserves from the fans

Did anyone catch Joe Rogan’s interview on ESPN? It was nice to see that he is not one of Dana’s pawns, just a true fan like he rest of us.

by Volatol on Mar 1, 2008 12:33 AM EST reply actions

sorry.

I just watched it, to everyone that doesn’t like Joe Rogan… he is a true MMA fan, he works out MMA fighters (takes a real good beating I’m sure) and supports them 100%.

He didn’t even hesitate to speak his mind in that interview. Now on the other hand, I saw him open a canister of stinky bud on video… now that wasn’t to smart..lol.

Wonder if Dana is going to eventually replace him?

by THORAZINE on Mar 1, 2008 1:41 AM EST reply actions

The the toughest 185 lbr in the world in Dan Henderson taking on the best technical fighter at 185 lbr in the world in Anderson Silva.

WOW’ a few months ago I was thinking Hendo would win it by GnP decision. But now I’m thinking Silva could catch him on the button (hendo leaves himself wide open sometimes) and KO Hendo.

I also think there’s a fair chance Silva can catch him in a triangle.

I’m going with Hendo just because I want him to win… no other reason, too close to call.

by THORAZINE on Mar 1, 2008 1:48 AM EST reply actions

Remember that Anderson Silva hasn’t had a tough as opponents as Dan Henderson has. Therefore I have to go with Henderson. Silva can lose by submission too as his only two losses came that way.

Forget about the what hazletts t-shirt said……Did you see the obvious annomosity between Arlovski and dana. Im pretty perceptive and pick up on the little things

arlovski left his huge ass chain on with his sweats which dana was not to thrilled about then andrei did even ackowledge the fact that dana was there and was about to walk off until dana practically grabbed andres hand to shake it

no way in hell arlovski is ganna agree to a medeoker deal if hes not happy with what they offer him he will be headed to Dream entertainment and then maybe we can see cro cop vs arlovski which the ufc could have put on but did not

Theres a great interview with joe rogan when hes asked about what he thinks of Fedor and danas comments on fedor

Joe basically said dana just says those things because he coudnt sign him, and roegan said he fedor is with out doubt the greatest fighter in the world

whose Silva actully beat? I mean, Chris Leben!?? Wowwie wow wow! Travis Lutter!!?? Oh wait a guy named Rich Franklin, who beat a faded 85 yr old Ken Shamrock, and not really anyone amazing. Silva has chopped up B level fighters. Everyone’s just riding his jock at the moment.

Just because a fighter hadn’t had as many tough opponents as the other doesn’t mean he’ll lose. To me wanderlei had WAY more tough opponents than chuck did and still came out short. I’m going with the spider on this, he’s on a roll and no one can stop him. Silva FTW by KO! Believe it.

Henderson by tko in the second round, kongo by decision, yushin okami by decision, fitch by submission in 1st round, leben by KO in first round,o’brian by decision, cuommo by decision, koscheck by tko in the second round, diego by KO in the 1st round, gurgel by decision….those are my predictions but i really hope that many fights go to the cards.

Mania, Thanks for the the video of the weigh ins. U never show any favoritism towards any fighters and the only time I have ever really seen the fan side of you was when BJ beat Steveson. All this time and I had no idea you were such a Penn fan, with that said and only because this is such a big Unification fight….. Who do u like tonight? Siolva or Hendo?…. I am putting you on the spot here! lol

I’m taking Hendo. And yes, Penn and Fitch are on the top of my personal list of fighters who I want to see win.

I hope Gurgel learns that he sucks at stand up and stick to his talents of jujitsu.

One thing i really like about Fitch…you cant choke that dude out, lol.

He was put in fight-finishing chokes twice and worked out of it. Sanchez had him in a triangle and Carneiro had him in a bulldog choke (i think).
