ufc 84 tickets
Tickets for UFC 84 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, May 24 will be available to purchase during an exclusive presale that begins this upcoming Thursday (February 28).

Here are all the particulars:

UFC Fight Club presale: Thursday, February 28 at 1 p.m. ET
UFC Newsletter presale: Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. ET
General ticket sale: Sunday, March 2 at 1 p.m. ET

Get UFC Tickets at StubHub!
UFC 84 tickets can be purchased through StubHub.com (Note: StubHub often has seats available even if the event is "sold out.")

Former light heavyweight champion, Tito Ortiz, is also expected to take on undefeated sensation, Lyoto Machida, on this fight card. It's the last fight on the contract for "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" and possibly his last in the Octagon if he and the Zuffa brass can't come to terms on an extension.

In addition, fellow light heavyweights, Wanderlei Silva and Keith Jardine are rumored to be mixing it up this same evening, as well as Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva.

It's shaping up to be a fantastic night of mixed martial arts (MMA) action ... definitely try and get your hands on these tickets before they are all gobbled up.

I am impressed. The UFC is putting on great cards!

One of the best cards ever. I think Thiago Silva will shut down all that talk about Rashad being top 10. When is Gouveia going to get a big name fighter?

I really want to go to this one. Does anyone know if they raised the price of the seats? When I went to Chuck vs Rampage I paid $750 per seat and wasn’t even on the floor.

I am curious to see what tito’s next move will be. After that interview he stated he has a secret project on the rise. I know his name has huge recognition but jesus hes not that damn great.

The UFC shouldn’t have any reason to have bad cards anymore I would think. Never know with Dana though.

Why is Tito the burrito’s face front and center?

by RiverHorror on Feb 23, 2008 2:02 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

heres another example of tito having legitimate gripes with the ufc…hes been badmouthing dana and zuffa hard and look who’s front and center?
tito sells fights…i hope he comes out and gnp stoppage machida, flicks off dana white and just walks out of the cage..that would be hilarious

Why is Tito the burrito’s face front and center?

I dont know if this is mania’s doing or not. But this is why I have lost some “love” for Tito. He use to be my favorite fighter, but the whole “poor pitiful me” attitude is a little tiresome. His fight against Rashad, he was top billing when there were better fights than his his. And if this is the UFC’s doing then he has nothing to gripe about his marketing.

And this is how Dana treats someone he cant stand? Tito isnt going anywhere, IMO.

Last year at the MGM the best seats were $750 then $500. I think even the nose bleeds were like $200. They probably rasied them just like the PPV, but I am not sure.

Intresting how at one point sherk testing positive for banned substances was thought to be a big blow to the UFC, but now its created so much drama with BJ winning the vacant title that it has hyped up the BJ sherk showdown to be the biggest lightwieght fight ever.

I cant believe I will be actually rooting for Tito Ortiz

although he has about as much of a chance beating Machida as K Shamrock had at beating him

by dia mette on Feb 23, 2008 3:32 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Once Tito defeats Machida it will force the Fertitas to resign him to another contract.
Rashad and Silva looks to be a great match up!

by Ray on Feb 23, 2008 3:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Tito is in his own little world.
The guy has only looked good against Shamrock the last 3 years. He lost the Vitor and Griffin fights.

He looked terrible against Evans. He doesnt deserve a raise. He still puts butts in seats and brings in PPV dollars, but his elite fighting days are long gone.

I look forward to Lyoto beating this douche bag into next week.

PS.Someone tell Tito to give back the money he stole from Tanks glovebox.

I think Silva finishes Rashad. Look for him to make a serious move in the LH Division

by PP on Feb 23, 2008 4:19 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I don’t know how Rashad is going to be able to handle Thiago Silva, I really don’t. I also think it’s odd that so many people say that Tito isn’t top five, or isn’t even top ten, and that he hasn’t done anything in years (even though he beat Rashad, the tie was a result of the subtracted point) Even with the subtracted point I thought Tito beat Rashad. And Bisping beat Rashad (in my book). Rashad has had too many chances and Thiago’s gonna shut him down. Back to Tito, I am positive that he will be the toughest test of Machida’s career to this point; Tito IS top five; Since Tito’s loss to Frank Shamrock back in the day he’s racked up 11 wins with 3 losses. The 3 losses are 2 KOs to Chuck Liddell (who is definitely top five LHW) and one decision to Randy Couture (who definitely was top five LHW) The 11 wins include wins over Yuki Kondo, Vladimir Matyushenko, Patrick Cote, Ken Shamrock, Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin, and Wanderlei Silva. So, what I want to know, is where did he drop out of the top five? No one from a lower rank has beaten him, and he has some VERY impressive wins; TITO IS THE NUMBER FIVE LHW IN THE WORLD!

I think beating up on poor Ken Shamrock three times made people forget that Tito knows how to handle his business. People like to say that Forrest beat Tito in their fight, and it’s a decent argument when you look at the fight round by round. However, Forrest Griffin was beaten by like an elderly woman in the first round, and showed some of the worst off-your-back technique I have ever witnessed in MMA at any level. I’d love to see that fight again I predict we’d see more of what we saw in the first round, and much less of what we saw in the other rounds.

Tito should be rematching Wanderlei. I’m seriously disappointed in the UFC for not pursuing that fight.

I agree Thiago is better all around than Rashad. I love Gouveia. He has good submission skills with KO power and punishing leg kicks. He needs to fight a big name. Maybe Bonnar?

If Tito wins it will be sooooo fricking cool…… Tito back as a top four contender!! Gold!!
Silva will literally eat Evans alive, head first….
Don’t know about Wandi v Big Keith….Could be fight of the night…..
I hope Shirk Smahes Penn. I hate that arrogant little freak….

by Rilly on Feb 23, 2008 7:58 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Wandi won’t take The Dean lightly like Chucky did. I think Wandi comes in with his snorkel (I know he not training with it this time) and cuts The Dean in half with some mad stand up skills. Keith will be overwhelmed by the fury of Wani!!
I still can decide if I like Tito, but I really want him to lose to see what he keeps promising. On Howard Stern he keep saying he had something big planned (maybe a win in UFC 84). I kind of thought he would unionize the fighters to really piss off Dana and Zuffa. Not half bad of an idea, pay these boys more and hopefully get better fighters. Exactly opposite of a normal union (pay more for less work).

nice card

i wouldnt bank on this being titos last fight for the ufc

hes still a massive ppv draw and dana is smart enough to not let personal issues cost the company big money

a couple of people like captain america have had tantrums as has tito in the past which were resolved but professional sports are a strange business especially fighting

owners and managers and coaches can despise a player or fighter on a personal level but it doesnt mean they cant work together

This site is going downhill along with Tito’s career.

hehe Tito wins this fight so easy. Machida has never impressed me. He exists to make tito look good and he’ll do that job well.

by Freddy101 on Feb 24, 2008 5:22 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

First off, I am more than 99% sure that banner was photoshoped together by mania, so I wouldn’t really be too worried about the possibility of Tito being “the main draw” for that event, not even close to it.

Second,I find it funny how so many people still don’t see what a washed up fighter Tito is. Yes, he was one of the best back in the day, but since he refused to keep evolving and stuck to his takedown-gnp mentality, the game has long passed him by. Couple that with the fact that Machida is in my eyes a true top 5 lhw in the world, and one of the fighters that has impressed me most in the last year, and I don’t see any chance whatsoever for Tito.

Not hating the guy at all, but this talk about Tito “smashing” Machida is pretty much as productive and realistic as the talk of Soko wiping the octagon floor with Macida. Lyoto is way better than Tito these days, and should’t even face him imho. Yes, it’s a good draw when it comes to the UFC, buy Lyoto should be the one facing Rampage in July. Then again, Lyoto definitely SHOUDLN’T be the coach on TUF7…

Awesome card, best of the year by ease I’d say.
BJ, Machida Thiago Silva… 3 outstanding fighters with 3 solid wins that night.

by Raul on Feb 24, 2008 6:11 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

The fight poster is going to look like this:
BJ and Sherk in the middle, with wanderlei and jardine on the outside. tito’s face will be no where to be seen, when the actual fight poster is released.

I am not so sure what to make of Rashad vs. Tiago just yet. I think Tiago’s tougness will be the differenec. Tiago seems to be on of the toughest men in the LHW division….I am not talking about skills, I am just talking about Toughness….Tiago is one tough dude and I am really looking forward to this match.

Tiago will defeat Rashad…. submission? TKO? who knows…but Rashad wont get past Tiago.

As for Gouveai…. I am a big fan of his and I think its a travesty that instead of him fighting a top 15 fighter, he has to face the 23 year old new Croation fighter at UFC 84. I dont know much about the croation except that he is a highly decorated grappler.

by john on Feb 24, 2008 9:07 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Tiago Silva and loyoto Machida will both defeat their opponents at UFC 84. I have a felling that will set up a very interesting match up between the 2 brazilians with completely contracting styles.

Look for Tiago vs. Machida to happen towards the end of september/early October.

Wanderlei will beat Jardine. I think wanderlei learned a lot about the UFC in his fight vs. Chuck and I feel that wanderlei will be very tough to defeat in his next UFC regardless of who he faces..

I love wanderlei..but at some point the UFC has to give us:
Wanderlei vs. Liddell II
Wanderlei vs. Henderson III
Wanderlei vs. Rampage III

If wanderlei retires before these fights ever take place, I will be very disapointed.

Yesterday, I was sick, so I spent the day in bed. I was feeling a bit of PRIDE nostalgia, so I decided to dig into my PRIDE FC dvd collection and watch some fights.

I decided to watch all 3 rounds of the 2004 Heavyweight Grand Prix. I forgot how great of a fight(the semifinals) Kharitonov vs. Nogueira was.

What I found interesting was that Cro Cop was talking about how he has added Fabricio Werdum as a training partner. I always knew Werdum was working with cro cop, but I didnt realize that they started working together back in 2004…. Its 4 years later and cro cop still couldnt hang with me on the ground…. Thats really pathetic and stuborn. Of course Werdum has moved on to the Chute Box camp, but how could have cro cop spent years training Werdum and still be garbage on the ground is just inexcusable.

In the cro cop interview at Final Conflict 2004, cro cop said that he will train with Werdum and in 6 months he will be ready to hang on the ground against anyone…… 4 years later, he has shown no improvement. How Pathetic!

u people can talk up tito all u want saying he sells tickets but i never order a ppv just because he was on it. i liked other fighters on the card. and the chuck and tito fight i ordered it because i knew chuck was going 2 whip his *ss i hate tito and his girlfriend they belong together. i ordered it more for chuck then tito. but i don’t really don’t like chuck either. chuck backs up way 2 much 4 me. i like fighters who go 4 the win and not back up the whole fight. if chuck and rizzo fought then would just stare at each other. and i hate hear about a fighters endurnce (i don’t know if i spelled it right) then they take the fight 2 the ground and just do enough 2 keep the ref from standing them up. TRY 2 END THE FIGHT fitch, koscheck, hammil, edgar, tito (sometimes), and O’brien just 2 name a few. DANA IF U READ THIS GET VITOR BELFORT BACK! now i order a ppv 2 watch him fight even if he was the only well named fighter on it.
