UFC 83: Tickets for 'Serra vs. St. Pierre' in Montreal almost soldout

If for some reason you can't get the seats you want for UFC 83: "Serra vs. St. Pierre II' (or any for that matter) on April 19 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, then it's more than likely because you're not a UFC Fight Club member.
Last night, the organization sent around an email to newsletter subscribers, informing them that the traditional presale was not going to happen because most of the tickets for UFC 83 have already been purchased.
Here's a snip:
"Due to incredible demand, nearly all of the tickets to UFC® 83: SERRA vs. ST-PIERRE 2 have been purchased by members of UFC® Fight Club in its exclusive presale which started on Sunday.... The UFC® organization is honored to welcome so many of its most devoted fans to the event that night.... Because of the unprecedented size of this presale, the normal UFC® Newsletter Presale will not take place."
According to the bulletin, a "limited" number of UFC 83 tickets will be opened up to the general masses this Friday (February 8 ) at 12 p.m. ET. However, based on everything that has already happened, it doesn't seem like those will last too long, either.
In fact, a ton of tickets for the first-ever UFC event in Canada are already up on eBay for some ridiculous prices.
UFC 83: "Serra vs. St. Pierre II" tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com or StubHub.com (IMPORTANT NOTE: StubHub often has seats available even if the event is "sold out.")
There are some solid match ups already confirmed for this card, including a welterweight rematch between current champion, Matt Serra, and interim titleholder and Canadian posterboy, Georges St. Pierre.
In addition, former middleweight champion Rich Franklin will loook to get back on track against The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 4 winner, Travis Lutter.
It's going to be a great night that will showcase a large amount of Canadian talent.
Stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime check out the latest UFC 83 fight card right here.

See, now if it were Bisping/Franklin, I’d be more excited about the card.
They need to stop babying Bisping. I understand he’s a draw over in England, but it’s about time he’s fought top competition on a consistent basis.
Charles McCarthy?? C’mon.

That’s incredibly fucking shitty for the UFC to do. Make a big deal about going to Canada, and then make it to where the average Canadian doesn’t have a shot in hell of actually going.
Before anyone replies with “but they could have been members of the fight club!”, the fight club’s main purpose is to get LIMITED presale tickets for shows and the occassional weighin. There’s no reason a Canadian would have to already have been a member of the fight club.

Also…can we please get Bisping off the poster for the card? No one cares about his can beating abilities…it’s his pathetic MW debut against someone the UFC only brought in for the pupose of making Bisping look good. I pray it backfires. Bisping is not a reason to see this card…it’s a wasted slot for a fight that actually could have implications in another division…put it on the undercard.

Now if Franklin actually fought with that beard, he may of had a chance against Silva. :)

I used to and still sometimes buy/sell tickets on the side to make a few extra bucks. I was planning attempting to buysome tickets to this event on Friday. I used to work for ticketbrokers, and 9 times out of 10, I get seats to an event that sells out quickly. I would much rather sell them to someone that posts on this site as opposed to some random person from Stub Hub or ebay. Right now the cheapest seats on StubHub are like $250, with a face value of $50. I will be trying to get $50 or $100 face value tickets. I would be willing to sell them for cheaper than what equivalent seats are going for on StubHub, in otherwords, I’d hook up a maniac, but I still gotta pay the bills!

PS. I would want to sell them immediately.

Agreed’
I already got my tickets aswell, And I think the UFC should have had Bisping fight “Tupper Ware” MCcarthy on the pre-fights…
I wish the UFC were sending some ex-PrideFC fighters here, or at least a couple more top fighters…Oh well’’’I cant wait For my boy GSP to get his gold back…

Unfortunatley in the UK it is the fight marketed after Serra/GSP title fight. With MMA still a “specialist viewing” here they use him as a big martketing tool. We know he gets easy fights & has no wrestling skills but Dana needs him to try & increase UK interest. UFC is only broadcast on satelite tv and ONLY the UK based events are PPV. I would like to see Bisping get tested, win lose or draw but he will get easy fights for the moment whatever division he fights in.

I can only imagine what they will go for a few days before the fights. I think the $75 the UFC charged for people to become a Fight Club Member was worth it to get tickets to this event. Even though they said you were capped at 6 seats per event, you could buy more. I ended up with 8 tickets for some of my friends and I, (all wicked seats)and I could have keep buying with my membership code. So if you didn’t want to spend $75 to have a first crack at the tickets you are going to pay way more than that now if you want to go.

Seriously, scalpers ruin everything..
by late monday night all the tickets were gone; but there is tons and tons all over the net, at minimum 4x the markup, often much more..
I don’t see why this can’t be more regulated to help the fans actually get the tickets and not make it so easy for scalpers.. it’s just brutal

Agreed. Bisping is second-rate. I’d still like to see Hamill get another shot at the guy. Is there anyone that likes Bisping? I don’t.

Move on Already! Enough with the Hamil vs. Bisping crap. Who really cares anymore? Bisping has turned into a joke who accepts fights against tupaware….Hamil is gonna get destroyed by Bonner. There are many more opponents out there for both Hamil and Bisping…so enough with that fight already!

YEEEESSSS!!!! My nickname for McCarthy is starting to stick!
Charles “TupperWare” McCarthy.
For those that didn’t read my post yesterday, it came about after someone, rather 100’s of people, said that McCarthy is a can. I argued that McCarthy is actually a step or two BELOW being a can. He defeats himself mentally before stepping foot into the octagon. Hence the name: Charles “TupperWare” McCarthy.
TupperWare = one step below a can.

how many tickets are left for the general public?
by kickinthehead on Feb 6, 2008 4:55 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Let’s not get to down on Bisping. If you were offered a fight that you thought you could win for good money in a division you’re not familiar with you’d take it as well. Blame Dana not the fighters who are fighting for a living.
There’s no doubt that the UFC is starting to baby fighters a lot more though. Chuck Lidell is a primary example. We all new that he’d beat Wanderlei (and he almost lost!) and Shogun is a gift as well. Shogun could fight at Middle weight or even Welter. Where’s Thiago Silva or Machida or even Griffin. That would be a real test for Lidell. He beats one of these guys and he’s back on track.
You gotta give it up for Tito, taking on Machida. If he wins he’s back as a genuine top 5 threat. Likewise, i think Evans will be re-arranged by Thiago in UFC 84. 84 could be the best UFC of ’08 (or ever!)

It’s always funny to hear about stories of people who are like “I got tickets to this UFC 83 thing with Georges St. Serra? Who is this guy? Anyway, I’m thinking about going if I don’t have anything else to do..” Man that bothers me..haha.

I thought a fight club presale had a limited quantity, not 13,000 seats? What is this? You know what they are doing with this…they are making the fight club membership pretty much mandatory to get into an event now. It’s like an $80 surcharge just because they feel like it.
So it’s the entire general population now going for like 6,000 seats. I’m sure another 2k probably sold on the Monday at the press conference.
What a horrible ticket buying process this has become for UFC’s first trek into Canada.

I had 4 windows open on my computer and tried to get tickets from the second it hit 12pn….and NOTHING! I’ve been waiting to go see a fight for the longest time, I didn’t even think this would be an issue (not getting tickets) I was so upset, I actually started crying!!!! It’s sooooo fustrating to know that people who aren’t even real fans are going!!! Do you have those tickets still available? I could give you $200each for the $100 tickets?? You would make me the happiest women of earth!!!!!!
